Sisters Dena and Reggie Somerville agree to help their parents have a real wedding for their 35th anniversary in the small town of Wishing Tree, Washington where Christmas is a major celebration all month long. Both girls have relationship issues of their own to overcome as well. The appearance of an old high school flame, a hot rock star and an adorable Great Dane stir the pot.

Another winner for Susan Mallery. Thanks to NetGalley and harlequin for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a feel good Christmas romance even though there is not much Christmas content. I really enjoyed the characters and watching their growth. . This is a family story with Two daughters helping their mother plan a renewal of her vows. I enjoyed the humor in this story

Mallery hits a homerun with her latest outing. It is pitch perfect and a genuine feel good read for the holidays! Strong characters throughout. Looking forward to seeing if Wishing Tree becomes a new series for Mallery.

Susan Mallory’s books are about family. This is in true form. This is about a family who has two daughters. They are both brave and independent. They both find love.

Heart-warming holiday story of two sisters, Reggie and Dena, helping their parents plan a big wedding vow renewal ceremony and finding love along the way. Susan Mallery does an excellent job of weaving the two girls romances into the story and making us want to visit the town of Wishing Tree during the holidays. Recommended.

Susan Mallory has written a sweet Christmas tale of a family planning for a vow renewal wedding for parents being planning by their two daughters. One daughter has had an embarrassing broken engagement and the other has gotten tired of waiting for the right man and is pregnant on her own. Of course, since this is a romance, both girls find their true loves and, in spite of bumps along the way, they have a happily ever after ending with some Christmas cheer thrown in. This in an enjoyable, easy read that should entertain readers who enjoy romance without a lot of angst.

Susan Mallery delivers another stellar Christmas romance with the story of two sisters who find love while helping to plan a wedding vow renewal celebration for their parents. Whether it's a first love re-visited or a new romance, they each have trouble believing true love will really find them, but the town of Wishing Tree is the perfect place for a Christmas happy ending.

Susan Mallery has done it again. The Christmas Wedding Guest is a typical SM novel. Full of fun, romance, and (for this one) Christmas!

I loved this Christmas fantasy story. A wonderful family, happy parents and two grown daughters. They live in a Christmas centric small town in Washington. It was all delightful.
Two dogs play starring roles.
Anything else I say is revealing so I will just recommend it. I love Christmas stories in general and this one was outstanding.

The Christmas Wedding Guest entertained me from start to finish. Mallory does not disappoint in any of her books. I was really sorry when it ended and would like to know more about the lives of these characters.

Review: This is the first in a new series, Wishing Tree, by Susan Mallery.

Dena and Reggie Somerville are sisters from Wishing Tree, Washington, where Christmas is as magical as one could hope. Mom and Dad have decided to renew their vows, so Reggie is visiting for the first time in a year, since her weekend-long engagement was abruptly ended by the groom-to-be. Reggie’s also brought along Belle, her Great Dane, who has some complicated feelings about courage and bravery. Reggie’s not the only one back in town, because her first love and lover Toby, has moved back along with his son.

Dena, an independent woman, who’s a full-time teacher and also owns a B&B is struggling with a new pregnancy, done by choice and a donor. Enter in Micah, rock star and songwriter, who’s visiting a friend and fellow musician in town. He’s renting a more in the B&B and is finding Dena’s small-town girl charm as a form of healing from a tremendous loss of his own. The first snowfall is falling late this year, but will it bring the magic that Dena and Reggie didn’t know they needed? A charming and festive read that offers well-developed characters and relationships that make the reader want to travel to Wishing Tree, Washington!

Note: I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is my own. The book will be published on September 28, 2021. #TheChristmasWeddingGuest #NetGalley

Writing: 4/5 Plot: 3.5/5 Characters: 4.5/5
Another feel good story from Susan Mallery full of family, friends, love, and people who always know the right things to say. I seriously think you could get more relationship help from reading one of her books than seeing a therapist. While the plot is obvious, getting to the end is fun and full of grown-up behavior. Her characters are honest, straightforward, and could give tutorials on how to express heartfelt and complicated feelings. Yes, there are hunky men and happy endings — and there is nothing wrong with that — but the people actually have depth and I end up feeling more centered after reading. Go figure.

This book takes place in Wishing Tree, Washington — every bit as cute as it sounds. Reggie is going back home after a year of self-imposed exile following a bad break-up. In tow is Belle, her “less than brave” Great Dane. Big sister Dena has rationally dealt with her ticking biological clock by going the turkey baster route. Mom and dad have decided to renew their vows and have the wedding they skipped the first time — needing Reggie’s help because Dena is extremely busy learning that morning sickness does not limit itself to mornings!

Full of great banter, easy camaraderie, and plenty of Christmas cheer (and crafts for those who — unlike me — like that sort of thing). Enjoy!
