I am loving this series the badgers are so cool and tough. The loyalty of these ladies is amazing it doesn’t hurt that they are all bad ass and are weapons all on there own. Their love of their team and basketball keeps them together no matter what.

Four and a half
Fun with a capital F but maybe not the most romantic story from this author. Look I get that a lot of people read these books for the romance but honestly this time it’s so low key it’s almost under the table, out the door and totally invisible. I just do not care ! I found this book to be interesting, fun and occasionally laugh out loud. These characters are amazing and yes sadly, scarily insane. The way these characters interact and support each other is only to be envied. It’s definitely not PC and yes it’s violent but for these characters everything just works. Straddling the lines between paranormal romance, urban fantasy and fantasy as it does this series and this book keep me smiling and coming back for more. Did I want the couple to be more forward ? Yes is my answer but honestly I loved it so I’m resigning myself to just enjoying the ride and for this reader honestly it’s a joy.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

OKAY, WHEN IS THE NEXT BOOK COMING OUT??? I can't believe that I just finished this book and I want the next one. It is probably because not all of our questions are answered, so we need the next darn book...as a matter of fact, not all of our questions have been answered from the first three books! Is this some sort of evil test on behalf of the author???

The first three books in this new series have dealt with the MacKilligan sisters (there were only three until a new one showed up, and boy, oh boy, she really does have her father's screwed up genes! You'll see!).

This next part of the series will be about the Malone brothers (Siberian Tigers) and the friends of Max (one of the MacKilligan sisters). Unfortunately, we don't get to see much of the sisters' new lovers, but we do get a very healthy dose of the girls, and I loved that.

This book CAN be read as a stand-alone since it does have a goodly amount of backstory. We have a wonderful mystery, a slow-burning affair, and more with the baking for the neighborhood bears. We also learn a lot about Max's friends and teammates, and wow, they are something. I will admit that while the loves scenes are HOT-there really is only one full-length one. This book, the whole series, has more to do with mysteries and fighting than romance.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that really loves kick-ass women and the men who lust after them.

The only thing disappointing about a Shelly Laurenston book is when it's over and you have to wait for the next one. As usual, ,I loved Breaking Badger. Revisiting all the honeybadger characters I adore is laugh out loud fun. Mads' story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming because though her family hates her, the family she's made on her own, always has her back. Please let the next story be Nat and Kyle. Great book, great story, well developed characters, and hysterical fun. Carly Phillps, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today Bestselling Author

IT'S REALLY TRAGIC WHEN WORK INTERFERES WITH YOUR PLANNED READING SKED (AND BY PLANNED I MEAN STAYING UP ALL NIGHT TO READ STRAIGHT THRU A HONEY BADGER BOOK.... CAUSE SO WORTH THE LOSS OF SLEEP.)

BUT THEN NEWS BREAKS AND I HAVE TO WORK (BOOOO)!!!!!!!

SO, GETTING BACK TO THE ACTUAL REVIEW... THIS BOOK ROCKED. ALL THE HONEY BADGER BOOKS ROCK BUT THIS ONE HIT EVERY MARK.... A PROLOGUE THAT DRAWS YOU IN IMMEDIATELY BY INTRODUCING YOU TO CHARACTERS THAT FEELS LIKE YOU'VE KNOWN THEM FROM THE VERY FIRST BADGER BOOK AND THE USUAL SNARK, FIGHTS (LOTS OF FIGHTS) AND BACKSTORY/PLOT... AND THAT'S JUST THE PROLOGUE.

IN "BREAKING BADGER (THE HONEY BADGER CHRONICLES BOOK 4) THE BOOK CENTERS AROUND MAX'S BASKETBALL TEAMMATES, WHO WE FIRST MEET IN 'MAX'S STORY... BUT AS USUAL, WITH MOST SHELLY LAURENSTON BOOKS, YOU GET A LOT OF BACK STORY IN THE PROLOGUE, WHICH ALSO FILLS IN A LOT OF THE BLANKS FROM MAX'S BOOK, AS WELL

WE FIRST MEET MAX'S BASKETBALL TEAMMATES / FRIENDS, IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL A RAG TAG GROUP OF MISFITS THAT ARE ANYTHING BUT 'NORMAL'... THEY FIT IN PERFECTLY WITH MAX'S SPECIAL BRAND OF CRAZY,,, LIKE A COZY PAIR OF BEDROOM SLIPPERS , THAT'S HOW WELL THEY FIT IN.

THE BOOK JUMPS AHEAD 14 YEARS AND THE GROUP IS STILL TOGETHER, STILL PLAYS BASKETBALL AND STILL GETS INTO TROUBLE ... SOOO MUCH TROUBLE. BUT, OF COURSE THEY DO. WHAT WOULD A HONEY BADGER BOOK BE WITHOUT HONEY BADGERS GETTING INTO TROUBLE.?

THERE'S STILL THE CORE GROUP OF SISTERS, THEIR BOYFRIENDS AND AS WE DIG DEEPER (GET IT .. BADGERS DIG DEEPER... SIGH, SOMETIMES, I JUST AMUSE MYSELF) INTO THE GROUP DYNAMICS, WE ALSO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE FOUR OTHER WOMEN... WHO AND WHAT THEY ARE.

THIS BOOK FOCUSES ON MADS GALENDOTTER (NO SPOILERS BUT SHE'S PART HYENA AND PART HONEY BADGER AND ALL .... OOPS, SPOILER!!!) AND FINN MALONE. YES, MALONE, YOU MAY RECOGNIZE THE LAST FROM ANOTHER PAST CHARACTER... THE BOOK IS EVERYTHING YOU'D EXPECT FROM A BADGER BOOK... LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS... OH MY!

IF YOU LOVE TO LAUGH OUT LOUD (REALLY LAUGH OUT LOUD), SARCASM AND A FAST READ THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU... AS ARE ALL THE OTHER SHELLY LAURENSTON BOOKS ARE.

GIVING THIS BOOK 5 STARS AND A HUGE THANKS TO NETGALLEY FOR AN ADVANCE COPY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

It took me a bit to get this read, first I went and reread the entire series, and the interconnecting ones as well. I highly suggest you do the same, I found the characters just as hilarious and endearing the 2nd and 4th time through! So, take it from go start with Sarah and Zac and make your way back here, you won’t be sorry.

Now for this book, can we just face the fact these characters are absolutely insane in a way that you just can’t help flipping page after page to see what antics are happening next. Mads, I really liked her, we don’t get much on her until this book and I liked seeing how her friendship, or I’m sorry teammates, with Max started. Finn is amazing, he’s all we’ve come to expect in our males, especially when they are cats. This story has several of the other characters we’ve come to love so I highly recommend at least reading the first 3 Badger books if you won’t go back and read the entire works.

I loved this, I’m sad it’s over and I’m not sure what I’ll do to occupy my time now while I impatiently wait for the next Badger to find love…although I wouldn’t be sad if the author could work out the next in the Crow series either.

As a huge fan of SL I love the world that she has created. The honey badgers are awesome. This installment did not disappoint Mad and Finn are actually a great couple. The Black
Malones are sexy and hot! I felt this story ended a bit abruptly and i wish we had had more one on one Mads and Finn time. With all that said this was a really hilarious and entertaining story. Can’t wait for more of the honey badgers!

Another absolutely bonkers honey badger shifter book! I can't even begin to describe the plot and at this point, if you haven't read at least a few of the previous books, you are going to be rather lost. The main "couple" is Mads, a honey badger, star basketball player, and one of Max MacKilligan's black-ops crew, and Finn, an Asian tiger who along with his two brothers, is trying to investigate their father's murder after his clan refused to get involved. As always, everyone in this series is interrelated to others. As well as Mads' connection to the MacKilligans, Finn is also connected to them through his teenage half-sister (through his mom), who also happens to be Charlie, Max, and Stevie's half-sister through their father and is a honey badger shifter rather than a tiger. There are occasional cameos from the Pride series also as well as some hefty subplots involving the MacKilligan sisters. Charlie got some major screen time in this book which was a happy surprise for me.

This was a wild, fun, occasionally violent and bloody ride. In her earlier books, Shelly Laurenston did at least try to have a strong romantic subplot, but by now, she's pretty much given that up and these books are fully UF with the romance mainly an afterthought. I get so immersed in the crazysauce plots, that I can honestly say that I only miss the romance a little but if I had any complaints at all, it would be that. If you've been reading the Honey Badger chronicles from the beginning each book adds more nuance to the various characters and continues to develop the found family relationships and ties. I know I'm happy that there are more honey badger antics to come.

I love this author so much! Her books are always well written and entertaining. DeeDee was always my favorite character until the introduction of the honey badger clan. They have taken over my heart with their antics. Love Stevie, Charlie and Max. Mads and Finn make a great couple. Keane of the Black Malones needs a story.

This was a fun installment in the long running series. Though the series has changed from where it started, I like the change. They’re still crazy, but now the family’s larger and a little more crazy. Instead of focusing solely on the main characters, the badger set is more of a whole cast, continuing saga. Where pride or pack focused on the couple, the badgers all have their girls (and guys) too. The romance was fun, the main plot was awesome, and as always, I can’t wait for the next one!

Rated 4.5 Stars

I loved it. Breaking Badger was funny, action packed, fast paced, bloody and already around awesome. It was lean on the romance but still an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Yes, I highly recommend it as I do the previous books.

I really enjoy this series. The stories tend to be very character driven, and with that said, the characters are quirky, funny and over the top, which I completely enjoy.
In this particular story, we are getting the backstory for Mads (a hyena/honey badger) hybrid, and her eventual relationship with Finn (a Siberian tiger) shifter. We get hijinks galore, along with some action scenes that bordered on gory which I didn't mind, because they were tempered with some humour.
What I love about this series also is that the romance is secondary to the other relationships that are also happening in the story, whether they be familial, or friendships, which I appreciate.

This one didn't work for me at all - I didn't like the characters, the story, or the writing style. I'm usually a fan but maybe Shelly has lost a little of her mojo? :(

If you are looking for a laugh out loud funny, fast paced, action packed paranormal book, this is definitely for you. If you're looking for a romance, not so much as the romance plot felt like almost an afterthought. I very much enjoyed it regardless and I look forward to future books with the hysterically funny honey badgers.

Once again extremely funny and entertaining. I love how Shelly Laurenston can write book after book in a series and never make it feel repetitive. I get to read about my favorite characters in this world while I am are being introduced to new ones. The story never becomes cookie cutter. I do love Mads. I to have trouble understanding what constitutes someone being a friend. So another well written home run! Thank you.

Shelly has once again written an amazing story!

Breaking Badger

Mads & Finn’s story will have you guessing and wondering “What’s next!?” while holding in your laughter when in public area’s.
I was not able to contain my humor to my husbands and children’s dismay.
How the elements all came together: Mads back story as well as her love of basketball and Finn’s family wanting to avenge a tragic event from their childhood.
Her skill at bringing us snarky humor, comical interactions and intense all consuming scenes that have you incapable of putting the book down is beyond brilliant!
If you have to work please be forewarned that you may want to call in sick.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

So glad there is another book with these crazy honey badgers! This time, it is Mads' story and her tough upbringing along with Finn Malone - one of the black Malones.

There is an ongoing back story that started when the MacKilligan sisters found out that there was another sister that they didn't know about who happens to be Finn's sister also. Sounds confusing but there is enough explanation that you won't feel lost if you have not read previous books in the series, but you will have to wait if you want a resolution to the Malone brothers' search for their father's killer. Throw in the new twist that they find out about Finn's sister and is it wild and unexpected!

These honey badgers are a strange lot and what a hoot - they keep you laughing and just when you think they are down for the count, they will surprise you and defeat the threat against them.

There is a slow, slow romance that starts between Finn and Mads which does get a HEA!

It is also great that we get to see some of the previous characters that I have grown to love so that was fun for me! Plus, lots of the MacKilligan sisters!!

Can't wait as we get to see more of this group and how their stories play out.

Another hilarious instalment in the crazy Honey Badger Chronicles! Sold 3.5

I no longer think of this series as romance. It's urban fantasy comedy, which is amazing! Mads and her basketball teammates are hilarious and Finn and his brothers are perfect, delightful cannon fodder for them. It took a little time to figure out who the lead characters were as the opening is a little confusing. It's Mads and Finn;).

There is a little bit of a suspense story where they are tracking down information about the brothers' father's death, but mostly the story is about found family, friendship, and what you'd do for the people you love.

It was fun to see more of Charlie, but I wish there'd been a little more of Ze. You already have an inkling of who the other two brothers are attracted to and I look forward to their stories.
