10! 10! 10s across the board!

I just got an ARC of Breaking Badger from NetGalley and my excitement has reached beyond the stratosphere. Anyone who follows my IG page, @RitasRandomReads, knows how much I stan Shelly Laurenston.

This book is a spin-off of a spin-off of her Pride World Series, focusing on Mads and Finn. Mads is the teammate* of a previous character,Max and Finn is the half brother of her half sister, Nat. The absolutely hilarious, yet ridiculous running jokes of "the half siblings of my half siblings" in Shelly's world never missed a beat. You don't NEED to have read previous stories to follow along, but it helps.

Mads is half hyena and half honey badger. Hyenas have been used and mentioned previously in Shelly's books, but this was a nice extra layer to their story. You get to see WHY Mads is the friend she is. You get WHY The Malones and The Black Malones don't get along. You really root for Mads and Finn. In this book, there is a lot of action and only one bow chicka wow wowwwwwwww scene, but it doesn't NEED more than one. Shelly is THAT good.

What I like about Shelly is you get INVESTED in her books. These characters are NOT real! I excitedly read this in less than 24hrs and risked eye strain returning to do so. This book, like many before it, took place both in New York and around the globe, but you FELT the chaos and the travel from the characters like you were there with them. Shelly's characters are always very relatable. This never felt like just a Mads OR Finn book. Shelly sets it up nicely with side conversations for future books.

A lot of authors use typical tropes to describe their characters and their interactions, not Shelly. Mads eats her fries one at a time, dipped in honey. Makes sense for what we know of her. With Shelly, your imagination is able to run wild picturing who the characters are and what they look like. Devout fan here and I'm still not really sure what they all look like. (See a previous post of me trying to)

The conversations they have really make you think. When Berg says "these are my triplets," but he IS 1/3 of the triplets, how is that accurate?

Now I must read this book again, because Shelly really put her back into this and left a trail of fire behind her.

I loved this story!

The MacKilligan sisters are back again as secondary characters in this wonderfully written, funny-as-hell, over-the-top story this time featuring Mads Galendotter: One of the members of Max Mackilligan's elusive basketball team/black-ops unit/robbery gang = Family

Every one of the team has part honey badger in them, which means they also have the traits that go with it. Mads just happens to also have part hyena in her as well.

The basketball team/black ops unit is tight.
They bonded in middle school and they've had each other's back ever since.
They are fearless and you do not want to piss these people off or they just might blow your house up, but not before they totally mess with you.

The dynamics of the team are great and once again, hilarious and I can't wait to read each and every one of their stories.

But more importantly, Mads and Finn's story was such a fun, and sexy-as-hell, over-the-top read!
I love how Ms. Laurenston can take a totally dysfunctional family and their "moments", and make their interactions so funny that you don't even realize that you're almost done the book because you've had so much fun getting there.

I love this series, and I'm so glad Ms. Laurenston continued with writing it with these wonderful characters.

Great read! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of reading this book!

O. M. G. I loved this book! This is the fourth book in the series and it just keeps getting better. The one liners and the laugh out loud moments…just so good. I can’t wait for the next book.

Can we say yes to more badger stories? I am so happy that we are getting more and have hope that the rest of the "teammates" (LMAO) get stories as well. Shelly Laurenston has a knack for creating a world that you just don't want to leave. These stories just suck you in and when you're done, you are left wanting more. I finished this and my first thought was time for a reread. With this story we have new additions of Max's friends, or teammates as Mads calls them. We also get some Black Malones, yep Malones meaning these are Cella's cousins. We get loads of drama, danger, violence, funny moments that had me laughing out loud to the point a tear or two leaked out, and super hot chemistry between Mads and Finn. I can't wait to see where these go next and who may possibly pair up. I give this 5 stars.

3.5 stars. This was an interesting, entertaining read. The blurb for the book lured me in as this was my 1st read in this honey badger series. This book felt like it is just building up to the next book in the series. There was a lot of chaos and a lot of moving parts and you don't really get any romance till the very end. Full of action and drama, little sprinkle of romance. Even though there is a lot going I was able to keep up and enjoyed the writing style and characters. I just wanted more with Finn and Mads.

Long live the honey Badgers. I love this series. It is well written with a good plot line foundation. It is funny. It is sweet. It is steamy. I like how there is a new mystery to solve with in the infrastructure of their own romance. I can't wait for more.

When you just want to submerge yourself into mayhem, action-adventure, and complete and utter hilarity - you can do no better than this. Chaotic, witty, downright bloodthirsty, and with a little smattering of romance!

We've only just met Max's teammates fully in book #3 so there was ever so much we didn't know about them. This book introduces the team, how they met, what they do now, and all the weird personalities they have. Strategists, drama queens, rich-girls, demolitions experts, and expert thieves and tunnelers - this is a team you do NOT want to make enemies of! There are plenty of action scenes and battle royale to enjoy, but there are also the beautifully simple but witty and catty scenes between siblings.

I'm still griping that the girl's dad had to be Scottish - such maligning of my countrymen - but let's face it, no matter what nationality good ol' dad was he's an absolute gobsh*&^! The McKilligan sisters just keep on taking in waifs, strays, and abandoned or neglected friends and family. As a consequence, if you take on one of them, you have a whole army of folk who are willing to back them up.

Mads may think she is a loner with no friends but her teammates are about to put her straight on that. If her horribly neglectful and downright murderous mother and grandmother make a run at her, Mads is about to find out how many friends she actually has. Finn may be her complete opposite but now that his baby sister is now part of the McKilligan clan, the rest of his family are also part of the clan - whether they like it or not!

I loved the way that Mads and Finn are completely oblivious to what is going on between them, they've got a relationship before they even know they really like each other that much.

Stevie, once again, almost causes a complete Charlie meltdown but also provides a beautifully formulated and well-represented mental health scene. I did have a bit of a tear in my eye by the end of that scene.

Please read the series in order, it really well help you see the characters and world development and all the mad side plots make sense. Super happy with the newest addition to the series.

Breaking Badger is another great book in Ms. Laurenston. This one is about one of the honey badgers’ part of Max’s basketball team. They have all been friends since meeting on the way to school.
I loved the book and was happy to read an advance copy from Net Galley for an honest review.
Since I have read all the books in the series, I was able to keep up with all the characters. I don’t think this book can be read as a standalone. Reading the previous books is necessary to fully enjoy this one.
Those Honey badgers! Great story and great writing, highly recommend.

I loved this book. Genuinely found the writing to be extremely funny and loved the interaction between the characters. Overall an excellent paranormal fantasy shifter romance. I enjoyed it so much and I went back and read the authors other works.

This book was very, very good. It took me a couple tries to get into it and then I couldn't put it down. Mad and Finn were nothing alike and yet they were perfect for each other. Honey badgers are very unique and when other species are mixed in, you can get anything. Finn was a tiger and was amazed at what Mad could tolerate in pain and injuries. There were several stories going on at once but not difficult to follow. I liked seeing characters from other books in the story and I loved how the bears seemed to have their own personal baker in Charlie.
I've read most of Shelly Laurenston's book and have enjoyed them all

I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review

I received this book for my honest opinion,

Absolutely amazing! I laughed until I cried. Laurenston this is the story of Max’s friend Mads and Finn Malone we met in previous books. I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two. Mads is tough and a little quirky. Finn and his family are hilarious. Finn’s father was murdered and he needs Mads and her connection to solve who killed him. Mads relies on her friend Max to help, which means we see a lot of previous characters in the book, but the development of Mads and Finn as a couple is strong. This is an excellent addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next one.

Another fantastic instalment in The Honey Badger Chronicles. This one took a little longer for me to get into than the first three books, but I ended up really enjoying it. The MacKilligan sisters and Max's teammates never fail to entertain. Laurenston consistently makes me laugh out loud at the ridiculous shenanigans her characters manage to land themselves in. My only regret is that now I have to wait another year or so for the next book to find out what happens next.

The story opens with an ops gone bad; the tigers are on one mission and the honey badgers on another, when they realize they’ve been set up and are attacked. When the honey badgers run back to their helicopter to escape, the find it gone. The tigers save them by gathering them on a boat to get out of the danger.

The honey badgers are one scary group, and now we meet Mads, the calmest honey badger yet. Just don’ tell her basketball isn’t a sport. The McKilligan sisters have been the backbone of this series, but now Max McKilligan finds herself on a basketball team to prove to her older sister she does have friends. And being honey badgers, there are fights, with guns, knives, bombs and anything handy. Plus, they hold a grudge.
Mads started life with her Viking great grandmother, but ended up with her hyena mother and grandmother, the odd one out in the family. It has left her shy and insecure in relationships. She has a tendency to just curl up and sleep through anything, having grown up around hyenas, and can often be found in a cupboard. When the honey badgers are thrown together with the Black Malones tiger brothers, we learn their young sister shares the same father with the McKilligan sisters, so family ties.

I love how quirky all the characters are in this book, and there are a lot of characters. Finn was adorable, the sweetest Black Malone, and before long Mads and Finn seem to be developing a relationship, although they don’t realize it.
I received this as an advance reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. (less)

The Honeybadgers are back ! I love this series by Shelly Laurenston. I love the humor, so sarcastic and dry. I know I am in for a good time when I start reading.
All the Honeybadgers are here along with the bears, lions and Tigers and more. The main Heroine is Mads, Max's basketball teammate ( Not friends!). Our Hero is Finn, one of the Black Malones brothers. Finn's half sister is Nat, half sister to the crazy MacKilligan sisters. Confusing but SL recaps so you won't get lost or if you have not read any earlier releases which I highly recommend you do.
Lots of fun, fights, killings and bears on my! So much fun, I can't wait for the next release

I received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review. First off Shelly is one of my auto-buy authors, so I knew going in I would enjoy it, and she did not disappoint. The story is of Finn, the second black Malone brother, and Mads, one of Max teammates. The girl plays basketball, while the brothers are in a football team. The brothers have a quest, finding out who is responsible for their father's death some 18-9 years ago. They had a last lead that sends them to a deserted island on the coast of New york. The lead was in fact a trap for them and the honey badgers team, which include max and Mads, in The Group (organization of all shifters founded by Miles VanHolst for the protection of all shifters). Working together they manage to get out alive and relatively unscathed, They went their separate way only for the brothers to find out that their best chance of a lead lies with the honey badgers network. Only one problem after their last encounters, the guys managed to grievously offend Max McGilligan, and none of them would work with them with Max mad at them! Thus start the funny highjinks that is the hallmark of a Shelly book, while the main characters fall in love.

Honey Badger Chronicles, book 4

Another fun read about the MacKilligan sisters. Max’s shifter basketball teammate Mads Galendotter and her family issues are part of the story, along with the Malones, the family of another MacKilligan sister Natalie. The Malones are looking for information on their father’s death and need Max’s help – unfortunately, the Malones have not endeared themselves to Max. Interactions between the different shifter groups are never boring. Finally learn what abilities Nat has inherited from her father Freddy’s genes.

Thanks to NetGalley fir the ARC.

The honey badgers are back, the honey badgers are back!!!! Finn is a tiger shifter on a search for answers in the death of his father, and no one can give him answers, except everyone seems to think the honey badgers can help. Unfortunately for him his brother seems to have insulted them. Max is a basketball loving honey badger that wants to help the cute tiger in his quest for vengeance since she too has her own family drama. Along the way their lives keep intertwining until they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Add I dash of snarky humor, intrigue, steamy times and action and you have a fun filled quest to truth. I cannot explain how excited I was to find out that those wild and crazy honey badgers shifters would have more stories. This book is a bit of a continuation of the MacKilligan sisters story as Mads is one of Max’s basketball teammates (aka friend) and Finn’s sister also is part of the MacKilligan clan (in a weirdly convoluted way). so you’ll see a bunch of familiar faces but you don’t have to have read the other books to enjoy this one, although I really, really, really recommend that you do. Both characters are strong in their own right but the blend of humor and action by the author is so seamless you keep reading until the end because you won’t want to put the book down. I can’t wait for more honey badger stories to come (hopefully real soon please( 5 stars must read. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.

In the latest book in the badger series, Mads, who is a friend of Max MacKilligan, is the main character. She meets Finn Malone, of the Black Malones. In my opinion, this book is better than the last few honey badger books. I would absolutely recommend this book.

This was another great book by Shelly Laurenston. I love almost all of her books, but this series is by far my favorite. This book is slightly different than her other books in the series, and the POV changes more often. However, that only seemed to enhance the book. Overall, this is a book that I highly recommend that will keep you wanting more.
