Something about this book, and especially the POVs, felt forced and this kept me from sinking in and enjoying this story. Like the authors were pushing for too much/all they could give their characters to make them stand out and be quirky and 'unique' but this just felt forced and not organic at all. As such, it was hard to read as I never managed to get immersed into the POVs.
Text Wars: May the Text be With You ... by Melanie Summers, Whitney Dineen is a delightful fit for readers who adore lighthearted, humorous, and romantic stories with a touch of astrology and a dash of miscommunication, perfect for those who enjoy a fun and flirty romance with a strong focus on relationships and personal growth.
Eh, this one was tough! I loved the idea of “star crossed lovers” in a sense, but it felt like this book tried wayyy too hard to grasp that.
Enter Sera and Ben. Two people who dramatically dislike one another. Forced proximity makes them have to spend time together, first by the show and then by the conference. The language and banter should have been something fun, but it felt so.. wrong. It felt juvenile at times, which made for difficulties getting into the storyline.
I also think the character development was there, but it just lacked. It was very apparent that Sera believed wholeheartedly in what she did, but over the top belief. While confidence is key, sometimes it can be a bit much and come off as arrogant, which is what Sera started to become for me.
And the ending of the story? It could have gone so much better! The embarrassment made for a rough ending.
Overall, this isn’t a book I’d love to read again, but it had some of the right ideas. Thanks for the opportunity to read, NetGalley!
Thanks to NetGalley and the authors for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I had high hopes for Text Wars, because I love books that include written correspondence. Unfortunately, this book fell flat for me. The characters were two individuals who I couldn’t connect with, nor their actions.
I absolutely loved this book! It was such a captivating read! I couldn’t stop reading! I loved the characters and the story! Highly recommend!
I love a good enemies to lovers premise, but I feel it works when I can root both sides in some ways. An astrophysicist looking askance at astrology, just makes sense to me so I couldn't get on board with the heroine.
I love the premise of this book, but both main characters were just not it for me. Both of their behavior was just so toxic, I had a hard time rooting for either of them. It also made me literally, physically cringe several times. 5 stars for the astrology/astronomy content, 1 star for the rest of it.
Argh after hating the first in the series as incredibly shallow and downright insulting/judgmental/racist I guess I should've learned my lesson, but I genuinely hoped that this would be better.
There are efforts to introduce some more inclusive characters, but it does still feel and sound like diversity tokenism, as if there was a directive and then a very base-level studying up. Also, both the protagonists felt incredibly judgmental and shallow yet again.
Fooled me twice.
DNF.
A definitely must read rom-com! As a reader, I really enjoy genre. It is quite good for me. Love the scenes Ben and Seraphina got. I also admire their individual character in some way. Reading about them was fun and made me laugh a couple of times. Love the banter so much! I definitely recommend this♥️
This book was cute and fun. I liked Ben and Sera but they fell for each other a little to quickly for my taste. Also, I felt these two characters would never last in a relationship once the novelty wears off.
This book was great. A classic enemies to lovers with the main conflict being something that I've never seen written about before. I think any reader will love this really refreshing read!
Text Wars should have been my kind of book, I didn't manage to get into it - it didn't grab me as much as expected.
Another good story from these 2. Loved the chemistry between our 2 MC they were like chalk and cheese and the banter between them was great. There was some definate laugh out loud moments but for me there were a few eye rolling moments too. I didn't like this one as much as the last one but I still enjoyed it.
I loved the comedy of this romance!! It was so adorable and quirky! I wasn't sure going into it but ended up truly adoring the entire idea of it!
This was such a quick and cute read. I've been on a romcom kick lately and this was the perfect length to read while on vacation at the beach last week. There were laugh out loud moments and I felt connected to the characters and invested in their story. I had never read anything b this author before but I would definitely read their other books. I loved that it was an easy beach read that I could read but also pay attention to my kids and hat was going on around me at the same time.
Text Wars is a totally fun, easy read and perfect for the beach. The characters have a ton of chemistry and I love the back and forth banter between them - and I loved the sidekicks as well. This would make a great Hallmark movie or even motion picture.
My only complaint is that the characters go way too unlikable near the end after their complication and though i was rooting for them, I was unhappy with their choices.
Cute and sweet but something is missing for me. Just didn't feel this one. Sorry. I thought that I would love it much much more.
This book delivers on what is written in the description. You get a fun, banter filled romance story between two people that counldn't be more different from each other. I iked Ben and his character was well presented, together with his quirks and issues. Serafina on the other hand is the type of character I have a problem in real life, let alone in fiction.. But I understand the appeal of presenting her this way.
Overall it was a fun light read and I would recommend it for anyone who just needs a break from everyday grimness.

I struggled to get through "Text Wars: May the Text be With You". It started great. I thought the authors did a great job giving the 2 MCs different voices. I liked Ben; it was Sera I wasn’t too sure about. Unfortunately, my opinion of her just went downhill as the story progressed. She was immature and impulsive when dealing with Ben, particularly when she felt he didn’t respect her views on astrology. She went out of her way to make him look stupid on television, and they both attacked the other professionally but in a personal way. I didn’t think the pair had much chemistry, and consequently, when they admitted they had feelings for one another, it felt inauthentic. They basically went from butting heads to attraction to love in the blink of an eye. But what I hated the most was the end. The authors villainized Ben. He apologized to everyone and in multiple ways. Sera barely even admitted her part in things, and to me, she was every bit as guilty as Ben was.
