So Sophie wants something of her friend's. Once realizing that the friend doesn't really think much of that thing, she took it home. It was alright at first, until she feels bad.

The book teaches kids how to be honest to each other, whatever the outcome might be. It would be appreciated, even though we all should face consequences. Being honest is also being brave to face your mistakes.

It can be hard doing the right thing. The fear of being rejected when others know what you did. There is great courage in doing the right thing and Sophie finds that out when she is faced with the choice she made. The illustrations are simple and easy for your child to grasp. The title is with irony which appeals to the many lessons to be learned so I will not give anything way.

A great lessoned to be learned and applied.

A special thank you to Charlesbridge and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

This is a good book to teach truthfulness, conscience in kids and even forgiveness.
My daughter till now only has seen colourful illustrations but she actually quite enjoyed these black and white ones..it reminded me of my younger days when I used to read comic books.
This book will be a good edition in a school library!
Thank you Netgalley and Charlesbridge publishing for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

I wish the illustrations I. This book were colorful. Hopefully they will be in the actual book. The message is cute and powerful. Kids have a hard time understanding that they can’t take things that aren’t theirs, but this should help.

Back in my elementary school days, there weren't many books in our library to read. Honestly, it kind of blew my mind how few books they let us read. It was frustrating. Chicken Soup for the Souls was a series they carried a lot of, but only a select few. So if you wanted to read five different versions of the same book, you go it!

I was intrigued to jump back into this series since I read so much of it as a kid (I liked them, until I had to re-read them 50 times over, you know how it is).

I think this book is super helpful to teach strong values and strong emotions to kids. I did appreciate the black and white illustrations as well - they reminded me of cartoons! Side note: The Sunshine Squad activity is super cute and a great idea!

Overall, this book is a solid read to bring some education to your children's book shelf in a fun way. I enjoyed it!

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Charlesbridge for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

Growing up in my late teens to early adulthood, I loved and devoured the Chicken Soup for the Soul books as I enjoyed reading all the amazing stories that had happened and they were genuine wonderful news stories. Recently, they have released some stories aimed at young children and feature around a group of kids called The Sunshine Squad who help aim each other in the right direction. In Sophie and the tiny Dognapping, we meet friends Sophie and Mia. Mia has a wonderful dollhouse and a cute little dog doll, Sophie adores it but Mia doesn't like to play inside with dolls and would prefer to be outside playing sports like Basketball. Sophie thinks that Mia won't notice if she takes the little dog. Sophie's right, Mia doesn't notice but Sophie starts to feel ill, and guilt niggles in her tummy. She must now - own up and do the right thing and return the dog to Mia and tell the truth, no matter what the consequences. This little picture book which is aimed at children aged 6-9 years old reinforces to children that not only is stealing bad but that Doing the right thing like telling the truth is always the best outcome as lying is not only making things worst for the other person but damaging your self-esteem even more as with Sophie - the stealing and lying was causing her to feel physically ill. I am looking forward to reading more of these cute stories and it has made me now want to go back and check out the other Chicken Soup for the Soul stories for Teens/Adults.
