Loved reading this book. Amazing story and the characters lend to the charm of this book. I would highly recommend this book. You would not be disappointed.
Levi Miller offers to marry Eve Summy to save from being forced to marry her attacker. Now in a marriage of convenience can they find a way to forge a future together?
A heartwarming romance, full of faith, family and new beginnings. Levi is a kind man, though even he got frustrated at times by their situation, I admired him for his integrity in honoring his promises even when it wasn't easy, and his own reputation was on the line. I loved seeing Eve come out of her shell while spending time with Levi's family, especially how Rosemary welcomed her with understanding and open arms. I also liked Levi's sisters and how they welcomed Eve as well.
Overall, this was a highly enjoyable, heartwarming Amish romance, wonderfully crafted characters, and a strong message of faith, as well as great interaction and relationship building. Definitely recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I loved this book. I love it when love is allowed to develop. I highly recommend this book. I was provided acolyte by Netgalley but the opinion is mine.
Due to personal reasons I have altered the genres I am reviewing and I will not be finishing this book. I'm sure it is an enjoyable read however it is not for me.
This is a Clean Amish Romance. This book is not your normal Amish Romance, and those are the types of Amish Romance books I really love. This book starts of with a lot of drama and fast pace. Then, the book slows down and you get to really get to know the characters. I have to say I loved Levi’s family and Eve. The ending was really cute and good. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I have to say the start of this book covers a hard to read topic, but it was done really well. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Emma Miller) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
Every now and them I like a mindless read. By mindless I mean a book that is straightforward, simple, to the point, and does not contain a lot of mystery. A read that doesn't require a lot of thought. Courting His Amish Wife gave me just that.
Eve is the oldest sibling in a strict - and abusive - household ran by her single father. As the oldest, she is responsible for the entire home and her younger siblings. Due to this, Eve does not get out much. This is why she goes off with Jemuel.
When Jemuel tries to hurt her Eve gets away but her father is furious with the disgrace. He tells Eve she must marry the boy or be shunned. Neither option is pleasant but then she receives a third option in the form of Levi. When Levi hears the story he offers to marry Eve to keep her from marrying her would be attacker.
When Levi brings his knew wife home he receives a cold and disappointed welcome. Through all of this Levi and Eve get to know one another and what they desire from a marriage that started as there's did.
While it is a quick read because it is a Harlequin it does leave some plot points unfinished - IE her father's treatment of her - which can be unfulfilling but what can you do. It was still a pleasant read.
This was a sweet Amish romance that on the surface is everything is purports to be. Our two main characters Levi and Eve marry in order to save her from being shunned by her own community due to her actions (to be fair she did disobey her father, but she did it out of naivety not anything malicious). The rest of the story follows our newlywed couple as they try and navigate married life, whilst also (in Levi's case anyway) dealing with the pressures of trying to get his business up and running and the pressure of his father's disappointment in his hasty marriage.
The problem that I had with this story is that it felt very stagnant. For the majority of the story, every time we had a sweet moment between Levi and Eve, two more would come of him being brooding, or pulling away from her, or her becoming irritated with him. I understand the pressures of their marriage, but I would like to have seen more poignant moments between them so that at the end of the novel their sudden declaration of love seemed real and not just happening for the sake of having a happily ever after. I also wish they had been honest with his parents at least about the reasons behind their seemingly hasty marriage. This comes down to Eve, and while I can understand her not wanting their reputations harmed by the truth coming out, she also knew the toll having his relationship with his father so badly strained was hurting him and she allowed it to continue.
All things considered however, while this story didn't work for me for the aforementioned reasons, if it seems like something you would enjoy please don't let me thoughts keep you from giving it a chance. I am sure there will be others (especially lovers of Amish romance) who will enjoy it!

Just when you get in the mood for a quick Amish romance, Love Inspired and Emma Miller delivers in a big way.
Levi Miller and Eve Summy may have not counted the cost of marriage when they rushed into marriage. Levi not living in Eve's community of Amish and hearing about how her father abandoned her in her time of need, is compelled to ask her hand in marriage. They are married in days and Eve leaves her community to live on Levi's large family farm. They know very little of each other but what they know of each other's faith is enough. However, Levi resolve is somewhat tested when his father is not supportive of his marriage. The marriage is misunderstood due to Levi protecting Eve's reputation.
Their first night is awkward for both of them and tension sets in. Eve's family is different from Levi's family that they share and celebrate God's goodness. It was a warm fuzzy feeling for me to see how Eve's relationship with Levi's other family members- brothers, sisters and step mother progressed and Levi and her relationship became an emotional abandonment. Eve's resolve to be a wife and not be in a lonely relationship as she was with her own family was inspiring. They both had to overcome misunderstanding and trust God for the outcome. Trusting God was different for both Eve and Levi just has it for anyone and I love a story where it is tangible. A sweet romance that values marriage.
A special thank you to Harlequin and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
When Levi offers to marry Eve to keep her from being shunned after she is attacked, the two of them must learn how to be husband and wife. They begin to “court” after they are married to know each other and both have to make adjustments like any married couple. Not only do they have to get used to the idea of being newly married, they are also under the watchful eye of the community over their quick marriage. Eve finally learns what it’s like to be in a family environment where she is loves and treated with respect. Will their marriage survive the true test of faith and patience with each other? The author touches on a sensitive subject of an attack on a women, but the depth and outcome of the story shows that
faith in God can lead to a positive outcome. I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my review and honest opinion.
I'm fairly new to Amish romances, but the more I read of them, the more I wonder what took me so long. Courting His Amish Wife is a bit different than others I've read. It starts out with Eve suffering through a terrible ordeal that's compounded by her father's reaction. Levi steps up and saves her, and from there we have what I guess would fall under the marriage of convenience trope. So, basically, Eve and Levi put the cart before the horse, and they have to try to get to know each other after the wedding. There is some opposition and miscommunication for this pair to work through, but work through it, they do. This is a romance, but it's also a story of faith, overcoming obstacles, determination, and finding your place. The writing and storyline are excellent, and it's impossible to read this one and not root for this couple. Emma Miller is new to me, but I'll definitely be watching for what she does next.
Oh, this book was so good! This is the first time that I have read anything by this author, but I definitely plan to read more now.
I loved these two characters and the situation they found themselves in. Levi stepped up and saved Eve from a horrible situation. Then the story really began. Even though Levi did a good thing in marrying Eve, that didn’t mean that he suddenly handled every situation that arose within his marriage in the right way. I liked that the author showed that Levi did not fully grasp how to share openly with his wife about things that were bothering him. It was also nice to see that Levi was willing to apologize and work to make things right a couple of times when he reacted in haste.
Eve was a great character, too. I loved watching as she discovered what it was like to be part of a large, caring family. Having been raised in a bad situation, this new, large family was, at first, overwhelming to her. However, I liked that she jumped right in and worked to become a good member of the family.
Watching Levi and Eve “date” as they worked to get to know each other was so sweet. This story had great romantic tension between the two characters and some community and family strife that also had to be dealt with. Courting His Amish Wife captured me from the first page to the last.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Eve Summy suffered an attack and was instantly shunned by her father. He insisted she marry her attacker which she refused to do. Levi Miller stepped up and married her so that she would not have to leave the Amish faith. He moves her away from her home to that of his family and now Levi and Eve must grow to know one aother, perhaps even finding love. Neither Eve nor Levi is prepared for married life. They are complete strangers and one of their issues is facing censure at Levi's sudden marriage.
Eve only knew difficulties with her very strict father. She finds Levi's family and neighbors to be completely different, even if gossip flails about concerning her and Levi's sudden marriage. I loved the pacing in this book and how this warm read turned a tragedy into a blessing. Watching Levi and Eve's relationship develop as they began to know one another was quite enjoyable.
What a wonderfully sweet story! I loved watching this couple find love, proving others wrong, and holding tight to their faith. The characterizaion in this story was wonderful, giving me quite a warm feeling. Not sure if this will be a part of a series, but, if so, I will be there for any additional books.
Many thanks to Harlequin Love Inspired and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
This was a quick and entertaining Amish romance with what begins with a devastating action against an innocent young girl. Eve Summy goes to what she thinks will be a group singing and is assaulted by the young man who invited her. When she got home, her stern father demanded that she marry this attacker or be shunned. Since being Amish is all that she knows, Eve is devastated and inconsolable until a relative newcomer to the community steps up and says that he will marry her instead. Levi is like a hero sweeping in to save the day, even though Eve barely knows him. I thought that part of the plot was rather unbelievable but the way the author wove the simple wedding and then Eve moving to Delaware to be with his family into the story convinced me that it could actually happen. Levi was loving and kind and willing to sacrifice his future for the happiness of this young woman who had been so brutally treated, first by her attacker and then by her father. The first part of the story did not seem like an Amish romance to me since they are usually uplifting from the beginning. But it did set the stage for the rest of the book and was not presented in any way that was graphic in the details. The characters were well-developed, especially Eve, Levi and his family. I felt as though I got to know them well and I particularly liked Levi’s stepmother Rosemary, a woman who was wise and compassionate and kind, willing to become a mother to the young woman who desperately needed acceptance. Eve followed the family routine well and seemed to fit in, even though Levi’s father was not as accepting of the marriage as he seemed. He made assumptions about why Levi married Eve and that did present some difficulties for father and son. With themes of hope, forgiveness, trusting others and finding God’s will, this was a wonderful little book to read that ended up being an encouraging word to my heart and soul.

Talk about really not knowing the person you marry, this young Amish couple take this to an extreme.
Levi Miller is one kind man, wearing his faith on his sleeve, and does an honorable thing and marries Eve. We join in as Levi brings home his new wife to live with his family, and see how they and their community deal with the quickie wedding.
Can this marriage of two unknowns survive? Will they be accepted by their district? Answers are forthcoming, and we get to see two people get to know one another, or at least try to.
This quickly became a page-turner that I needed to know if this marriage survived, and how others treated them!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.
***TRIGGER WARNING: A MAIN CHARACTER DEALS WITH TRAUMA FROM AN ATTACK***
Eve Summy must make a choice: marry a man who will hurt her or be shunned from her Amish community. Levi marries her instead of who she was going to marry.
This is their journey getting to know each other but they must also face Levi's family who are surprised by how quickly Levi and Eve married. I did like Eve a lot. Highly invested in the Amish faith, her hard choice at the beginning makes her not want to leave this.
Courting His Amish Wife is the first book I have reviewed by Emma Miller, and I enjoy books about Amish families, their faith and culture.
The fast pacing at the beginning got me into the book and then the pace slowed, but it was no less gripping because of this.
I look forward to discovering new books by Emma Miller.
Thanks to Emma Miller and Harlequin for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
4 stars
I have just started getting into romance book, but I had never read an Amish one, and I was worried that it might be too weird. But, no, this is a sweet, gentle story of a woman who is almost raped, and was about to be forced to marry her attacker, when a sweet young man offers to marry her instead, and take her to his family.
They don't explain why they suddenly married, and Levi's father thinks it is because he had premarital sex, which is considered a sin. When Levi doesn't go and confess his sin, his father think less of him.
But in the meantime, the family loves Eve, and she falls into making food, and canning foods, and all the things that you do when you are living on a farm. It is actually kind of sweet, and it is a slow romance, and quite chaste. When they finally do kiss, it is a light kiss on the lips only.
Nothing untoward happens, and there is no danger from the earlier almost-rapist. All good, and quick read.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
This was a cute book and I enjoyed it. Courting His Amish Wife is a Love Inspired book by Emma Miller. I haven’t read any of her books before, but this was a great start.
The characters were really interesting, I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about them. There were points where I really liked them and there were other points where they just got on my nerves. However, the storyline was entertaining and I was able to finish this book relatively quickly.
Eve wasn't really my sort of character, but I still wished the best for her as I read about her. She was in a really unfortunate circumstance, but she tried to make the best of her situation. I felt sorry for her, and I grew to like her more as the book went on. Her father had given her a horrible choice, get married to the man who tried to take advantage of her or leave the church. But Levi gave her another solution, marry him, a stranger, but someone who wanted to help her. As the book went on, Eve learned to see the good in where she was in life and what it meant to love her husband, Levi
Levi was kind, but he also seemed sort of impulsive. I did like him, but he was kind of moody. However, he was trying to help out someone in need and was learning to leave with the ramifications of his actions. He had good intentions, but being married was a lot of work. Levi needed to learn how to love Eve and lead her as the head of the household.
Courting His Amish Wife was a good book. It was cute and sweet, great for a quick afternoon read. Courting His Amish Wife is a clean, Amish romance.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
I posted my review on Goodreads, Bookbub, and Barnes and Nobles. I will post on Amazon and blog closer to release date
This was a heartwarming and charming read that had me so swept up in the story that I ended up reading this in one sitting. I’m not that familiar with Amish life but I appreciated the glimpse I got into a different way of life. Eve is a wonderfully strong woman who has been treated terribly in her life and I loved her character arc as she grew into herself with the comfort of Levi’s family. I loved how complex things were between Levi and Eve, as well as Levi and his family. Since Eve and Levi got married so quickly to save Eve from being shunned everyone naturally assumes the worst in Levi. Miller did a great job handling Levi’s emotions as he is trying to live with people thinking badly of him as he keeps Eve’s secret and as he learns to be a husband to her. Levi’s family was a big joyous happy group of people and I enjoyed greatly getting to know them. It was so lovely to see the way they work together to get things done around their farm and house. Eve and Levi’s relationship is of course unconventional and I like that the author didn’t shy away from that. Instead, she embraced it and it made the sweet moments between them that much sweeter. There are a couple of trigger warnings I want to give for attempted sexual assault and a toxic/abusive parent. My only real negative of this book that both of the terrible men in Eve’s past have no repercussions for their disgusting and inexcusable behavior. Which perhaps is true to the Amish culture but this is a work of fiction and I would have liked to see something happen to them. Instead, we get a brief mention from Eve who prays for the man who tried to assault her and she has forgiven him. Which I can imagine would be triggering for some people so please be aware of that. If you are looking for a cozy and delightful romance involving a fun loving family then I highly recommend this book. Courting his Amish Wife is a part of a series involving Levi’s family and their community and I am eager to read those books as well.
Courting His Amish Wife by Emma Miller is a sweet uplifting tale. Eve’s story has a tragic beginning. Her stern father gives her a choice of marrying a man who attacked her or be forced to leave her home (what a choice). Eve is a woman of deep faith (also very naïve) and the last thing she wants to do is leave the Amish. Eve feels that if she is shunned, she will lose her faith. Levi Miller is a kind man who offers to marry her. These two strangers marry which, of course, leads to complications. They need to get to know each other while being surrounded by his large family in Hickory Grove, Delaware. Miscommunication, assumptions, and impatience abound. I laughed and smiled while reading this sweet story. I liked the faith elements in Courting His Amish Wife. God’s will, trusting in God, and forgiveness are some of faith lessons. I thought it was well-written with developed characters. There are some great characters in this story with my favorite being Rosemary, Levi’s stepmother. I look forward to reading the next novel featuring the Miller family. Courting His Amish Wife is a heartwarming story with a hardhearted daed, an affable family, a firm faith, sudden nuptials, and a sizable secret.
