A great cookbook, very good resource! I'm so glad gut health is becoming a bigger and more important topic for everyone these days it’s not understood well enough
I've already tried a few of these recipes and can't wait to try more for myself and educating and feeding the boys!!

Good Gut, Great Heath is a really well put together cookbook with great pictures. I love the focus on gut heath as it is such a predominant heath issue in our society. The recipes I tried were tasty and easy to make. I really enjoyed the cookbook.

Good Gut, Good Health is a really great cooking book for recipes that are good for you and also taste great. The pictures and text were both really well done. I cannot wait to try some of these new recipes I have learned about.

I thought this book really provided a lot of good information and good recipes. I have always had gut issues so it was nice to find a book that promotes it. I do think this seems a little restrictive, however I think taking some of this and incorporating it into your life would be helpful.

I did not read Good Gut, Great Health through an educator lens.

Good Gut, Great Health by Vicki Edgson and Adam Palmer is a great concept. With gut health getting more attention from the medical community, I expected this book to be a great investment. However, the beginning matter was short and didn't provide enough information. The recipes in this book, while they looked delicious, are not feasible in smaller communities, particularly in the Midwest, where accessibility to foods is limited. The presentation of the food was beautiful, but not realistic to many people.

I love cookbooks and have had some health issues in the last few years so I jumped at the chance to review this book. It fell short for me though. It introduces the plan as a way of eating based on research. The goal is to eat seasonally and preferably locally. It has 10 principles based on how the body works. One of the sections is on how stress affects digestion, which I found helpful (especially since my doctors haven't determined my problem and it started when we were remodeling our home and I was experiencing a LOT of stress...then COVID hit). One of the things I liked about the book was the at a glance tables that show different foods, their nutrients, and why they are good. There were several food benefits that I didn't know that would be good for my diet. Unfortunately, I didn't find most of the recipes and hence the meal plan to be things I would actually eat. There were only a handful of recipes I'm even partially interested in trying.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Good Gut Great Health is a terrific book for anyone exploring issues of the gut. The book begins with excellent information about gut health and the process of healing through diet. This task often seems very overwhelming but I found this title to be easy to follow and contained good options to talk to your daughter about. The truly outstanding section is the recipes. The recipes are easy to understand, have ingredients you already may have at home. I also appreciated the ways to make the dishes in different ways. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve gut health.

Good Gut, Great Health is full of information and recipes aiming to improve your health by improving the digestive tract and focussing on the gut. It is filled with gut healthy recipes that can be adapted and varied for individual tastes, but does contain a huge amount of additional information and a plan to follow. There are mouth watering pictures and lots of encouragement to help you along the way. This is a great book for anyone looking to improve their gut health and learning more on the subject.

Good gut health is something very over looked in western cultures. Good Gut, Great Health gives info, tips and recipes on how to optimize your gut health and what to and not to eat. The Plan in this book is not something that I could follow as a vegetarian, but I like some of the recipes. For anyone looking to improve their gut health, and who eats meat, this could be a really insightful book for you.

This book follows a diet plan from Grayshott Spa to help achieve better health through good gut health. It’s a beautiful book with some helpful tips but I’m not sure how realistic this plan is.

What did I like? I agree with the tips in the book on fasting and eating fermented foods. A lot of the tips were helpful. The plan offers a 21 day reset with no idea of caloric needs or if it’s safe to fast. Some of the pictures of the foods while beautiful take up a scary tiny fraction of a plate. If I stayed in a spa this is how I would expect to eat.

Would I recommend or buy? If your serious in learning how a spa could help you this would give you a good indication. Now I can see why spas are so expensive! Interesting and fascinating look at a fraction of a spa price! Three stars!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left a review!!

I am one of those people that can look at recipes… all day. I can consume cookbooks like nobody’s business and love to get new ideas from recipes. I literally have over 100 cookbooks in my house. Do I need them? No. Will I get rid of them? Also, No. I love all my cookbooks and peruse them frequently.

My favorite thing about this cookbook, ‘Good Gut, Great Health’ are the pictures. They are truly beautiful! Both eye appealing and scrumptious looking.

I was very intrigued by the approach of this cookbook. I’ve heard so much about gut health as of late. Not sure if that’s a new buzz term going around or if we, as a culture, are just catching on to an important concept. Regardless, I’ve been so interested in learning more about gut health.

This cookbook is laid out as most ‘way of eating’ books are; explaining the health issue, offering information on how the body processes different types of foods, laying out an eating plan (phase one to clean out the gut and phase two as maintenance) and then the recipes.

The author did a great job of explaining gut health and it was informative. The informative section was also pretty short. Moving on to the list of ‘acceptable foods’ I was shocked to see how few foods are ‘in’. It seems that this plan is VERY restrictive. If I know me, and I think I do, I know for sure that this would be a VERY difficult plan for me to follow. The good news is that if this is a short time to achieve gut health, that may be a little easier for some to follow, but anything long term, it would be a no for me. Frankly, even for the short-term, I know I wouldn’t be happy.

Besides being restrictive, it’s also a lot of food that I don’t normally have in my home. Which means an expensive shopping trip. Yikes!

For those trying to address very specific health issues, or with a different palette than mine, this may be a great way of eating. For me though, it just wouldn’t work.

I have added some of the beautiful photos so you can all appreciate them. If they look mouth-watering for you, please check out this cookbook to see if it’s something that may work for you!

Super helpful for people with digestive issues (like gerd). If you focus on what you can eat, instead of what you can’t, this book has lots of wonderful recipes and recommendations. It’s a 21 day plan to start healing gut issues but the book also includes after the plan recipes. If you are use to eating whatever you want, the plan will be an adjustment but your whole body will thank you for it.

I received this book from the publishers via Netgalley for a review. Good advice and recipies not sure I would follow the diet but do eat more fermented food

Interesting premise, lovely photographs, and a lot of gut-health theory behind a 21-day healing plan and a less-restrictive, but still quite restrictive, sustainment. Organic proteins and vegetables are the core of the diet. Grains and dairy are off-limits. Those struggling with digestive issues may find this to be a helpful reset. It may be expensive to continue long-term.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The pictures in this cookbook are beautiful and have very vibrant colors. I really enjoyed the introduction and how everything is broken down into how your body uses it. A lot of these dishes look like they should be in very high-end restaurants. I'm not sure I'd be making any of these because it looks like a lot of work goes into them, but they are beautiful and look delicious.

This book is very informative and delves deeply into gut health. Unfortunately for me, having a Fructose intolerance, many of the recipes and daily plan have foods that are not tolerable. Therefore I would not purchase this book for myself and did not finish it.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
