Whenever I am in the mood for a highly entertaining, action-packed romantic suspense novel, I always reach for a Nana Malone book ; because I know it’s exactly what’s going to hit the spot.
This book is exactly what I’ve come to expect from this author: steamy, a good story, and great side characters. It has a MR AND MRS Smith vibe from the get go, which is a great hook.

The romance between Marcus and Lyra had me a bit worried because it started with zero chemistry, but then it ramped up fairly quickly.

That being said, I kept being pulled out by the story by certain repetitive phrases and continuity errors that I am not sure were part of the unfinished nature of an advanced reader copy.

Certain physical actions from the characters, the description of the way the characters kissed, and even the female protagonist had dark then light then dark brown skin. Again, it’s hard to tell it’s the ARC or not. I’ll need to compare the finish copy to see if this is the case. I bring this up because I have seen this in other books in the romance genre in final copies, and it’s one of my greatest annoyances when it comes to the romance genre.

Hoping these issues are only present on the ARC.
Because it is definitely a fun read.
This books ends on a cliffhanger, as it is a duet , so be forewarned. I am really looking forward to the conclusion of this story!

Yet another attention grabbing book by this talented author.
Both characters and plot will keep you riveted from cover to cover, and then wishing there were more pages at the end.
Books like these are right up my alley, and absolutely adored how the author did it, and can't wait to find out the outcome of that last chapter. Hopefully the next book has more action as it's the secret agencies and their missions that sold the book for me, but that's just this suspense junkie being greedy.

This is part one of my second duet from Nana Malone and I’m enjoying it much more, so far, than I did with the Playboy Royal duet.

I read this in one sitting. It’s an engaging, page-turning, romantic thriller.

Lyra and Marcus are spies (hidden government black ops), working for rival agencies (The Firm and Exodus, respectively). Their agencies find that agents in committed relationships performed better, so encourage relationships. Lyra and Marcus find each other on a dating app and it turns out they’re neighbors. Lyra’s cover is PR and Marketing, while Marcus’ is that he’s a game designer.

They like each other, but they’re both kinda reluctant to start a relationship because they don’t want to put the other into danger, but the chemistry is so hot, they can’t help it. They’re both very protective of the other, not knowing each other are spies. Although, they do have suspicions, off and on, that things aren’t quite right.

Throughout the book, their respective agencies have them stepping on each other’s toes a bit and near the end have them at the same job where things go wrong. They end up running into each other and discovering they’re both spies. Lyra’s ordered to take Marcus out which leads us to a cliffhanger ending.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these two in the conclusion, The Assassin in 5F.

I was provided an ARC for an honest review.

In true Nana Malone form, she killed this book! I loved everything about it. Something that I notice with her books is that, with each character, she stays true to their culture and the way they would speak. It’s the details that she puts into her characters that always amazes me. That takes work and dedication, especially when you never falter. She created a book with all the Mr and Mrs Smith vibes and I am here for it. Since Nana was put on the cover of the book Nana is the only way I could see Lyra. Lyra is a fierce badass chick with a soft side she shows for few. Marcus, dear Lord he is just amazing, at his job and how he is with Lyra. I enjoyed the dynamic and growth of their relationship. Then Tyler, that freaking guy. I just hate him. He’s got the whole snake in the grass vibe going for him. This book is full of action, suspense, a bit of drama, and that amazing steam Nana always brings to her books. I loved this book and would absolutely recommend it!

Be ready for another witty, sexy and dangerous adventure with Nana Malone and her team of edgy and captivating characters. The Spy in 3B was fast paced, addictive and kept my heart beating so wild all the time.

Lyra Wilkinson and Marcus Black are neighbours who got matched by a dating app. But Lyra doesn't really work for a PR company and Marcus isn't really a video game creator. They are trained special ops working for two separate top secret government organisations. The Firm and Exodus, respectively. Those are enemies and are chasing same bad men. So while they are trying to keep their covers and feelings under control, their paths are set to clash.

So this is the book where you literally chew your nails out thinking when the cat will be out of the bag. I mean when Marcus and Lyra's covers will be blown and the after effects. And the author planned and executed the story so cleverly that I came close to that moment and my heart stopped beating but the crisis got averted. Till the last page. Till that jaw dropping i-cannot-believe-she-did-this king of cliffy. That means I was glued to the pages and was turning them eagerly. Lyra has been added to the endless list of super sassy, super strong and super swaggering heroines created by Nana Malone. She had a rough early life but she has trained herself to be this efficient agent. A bit reckless, a bit impulsive, a lot sharp mind and a lot beauty mixing with heart. And Marcus is the best kind of man. Alpha with arrogant confidence, protectiveness, irresistible charm and rough edge. They definitely have scorching hot chemistry that set the pages on fire. They had this period of dating- non dating and the hilarious yet adrenaline filled accidents kept on interfering. It was slow burn with combustible attraction and I cannot wait for the conclusion.

Nana Malone's sharp and witty storytelling is so unique and it makes every story she writes a special kind of treat. The Spy in 3B is a suspense mixed, passion filled and emotionally charged read.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

This story has a Mr. and Mrs. Smaith Vibe that I loved. Lyra and Marcus had great chemistry and fire between them. I was looking for the moment the secrets between them were revealed.

The cliffhanger ending was a little disappointing - the story was just starting to get interesting - the drama was going to start and then end. that was sad and hard to handle

not sure if the storyline needs a second book - I think everything could be accomplished with a few extra chapters.

When spy meets spy, it's a whole lot of sexy fun! It took a little while for me to warm up to this one, but once these characters started to reveal more of their true selves, it got better and better. I love the concept of two undercover operatives who don't realize that they're working for rival agencies, or even that their new love interest is anything more than a sexy stranger. The chemistry is great, with some seriously steamy moments. And the addition of the secrets and suspense make this series starter fly by. It ends on quite the CLIFFHANGER, and I can't wait to dive back in to see how everything plays out.

The story follows Lyra and Marcus, neighbors who have recently started dating. They've gone out a couple of times, but there doesn't seem to be much of a spark between them, and every date gets interrupted. That's left them in a state of limbo, not quite ready to call the whole thing off, but also not ready to move forward. That is, until their most recent date ends with plenty of intrigue. As different aspects of Lyra and Marcus' personalities are revealed little by little, they discover that there might be a connection between them after all - and they might have a lot more in common than either expected.

Before we go any further, YES, this ends on a major cliffhanger. It's planned as a duet, and I'm definitely left wanting more. This is a solid 4-star read for me, and the best I've read from Malone so far. The story is light and sexy with a kick of action that makes the pages fly by, and the characters are easy to love. Marcus won me over right away - he's sort of a restrained gentleman who you know is hiding a whole other side of his personality. I can't wait to get to know him better. Lyra took a little longer for me to connect to, mostly because she comes off as somewhat naive and inexperienced. There are a couple of elements regarding her employer that didn't work as well for me, but we'll see how that all plays out in the conclusion. Overall, this was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the second book leads. I received an early copy, and am voluntarily leaving a review of this short and suspenseful romance.
