Kestrel Lancaster is at the stage of evaluating her current existence, which includes the lack of a love interest. One that will be loyal and devoted and love her. What she hadn’t expected was the knock on the door requesting her presence and acceptance of a bequest. A brooch, the bequest is darkened brooch. What Kestrel doesn’t understand is the magic held within the piece of jewelry.
Nicholas doesn’t understand it, but in the middle of his battle a woman appears. As a Knight of the Realm, he protects and rescues Kestrel from a certain death. When Kestrel realizes in which time she has arrived, she immediately disavows her last name of Lancaster. As the War of the Roses heats, so does the love and passion between Kes and Nicholas. But there are enemies, some that are close to both of them.
This is the first book of a Time Travel Series. Some unanswered questions, but no cliffhangers. Just an immediately wish for the second book!

I was so excited to read this book, I love time travel, but it fell super flat.

Here is what I loved about the story: the hero, Nicholas was just grumpy wonderful, the side characters helped to bring the story to life, the whole undercurrent story about why and how this happened was amazing. I will give this series another shot because the overall arc of the series is an outstanding idea and I want this to work. The history mixed in was great fun, and as stated above, I loved the side characters so much. They were the crown jewels of the story.

Here is what I didn't like... the heroine, Kestrel was just all over the place. She is a "historian" who gives great details about the future, does Nicholas really need to know about a selfie and go around pretending to take them, I think not. I felt as a "historian" she should have worked to blend in a little more instead of going against everything logical to do. The characters even keep telling her to not say so much because people might think she is a witch, doesn't stop her at all.

Time Travel to the Highlands would be Sensational! Men in Kilts and they have Abs of Steel. Granted the women are usually treated coarsely unless you get a man who is not all macho.
The other downside is the living conditions and the health is not all that up to par. I would hope to have a bunch of antibiotics on me if I were to be dragged into a portal!
Kestrel Lancaster had nothing on her except the clothes she was wearing. The other bad thing about time travel they can’t really pinpoint exactly where you will land. Kestrel landed in the middle of a battle and she was on the enemy’s side! Oops she was not about to reveal her last name to Sir Nicholas de Marre who made it a point to say how much he hated the Lancaster Clan.

Paula Quinn writes good books, but this is definitely an exceptional book! The characters are polished and the storyline flows from beginning to end.
This book for me was unequivocally Unputdownable! I never put it down from the time I started it from the beginning to the very end!

I without a doubt recommend this book to everyone looking for a incredible read.

I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was intrigued by the premise of this historical novel. The heroine is from the future and travels to the past through a mysterious heirloom she inherits. Her interactions with the earl run hot and cold. She is polite and then brazen. She's purposely antagonistic although she claims to be a historian. I was not particularly taken with their romance and less with their characters but I did enjoy the storyline. Overall entertaining if you're looking for a decent historical romance.

Really enjoyable read from beginning to end.

It’s was lovely reading about Nicholas and Kestrel, they fit together so well. From totally different times, backgrounds and upbringings but they had an amazing chemistry.
Their love grew steadily and the storyline was emotionally charged and satisfying.

If you like reading about the War of the Roses this may be right up your street.

Very good to see this new series from Paula and can’t wait for the next book in this series to hit my kindle. After all there are so many secrets yet to be unearthed in these tales.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

The War Of The Roses brings conflicting emotions to Nicolas Scarborough, Marquess of Pennington. In the heat of battle against the Reds, a woman appears in strange clothing. Nicholas fights them off to save her. This is no ordinary woman. With the rub of a brooch, Kestral traveled through time from 2019 to 1485, before the battle of Bosworth. Nicholas fights for King Richard III because the Lancasters killed his family. but he hates the king for his cruelty and deceit. Kestral is a Lancaster and must keep her last name secret. To be labeled a traitor and a witch would see her burned at the stake. In the battle for king between Richard III and Henry VII, Nicholas could die fighting for Richard, Kestral uses every weapon she has to save his life. For her, finding the man you love is once in a lifetime. Even though I have questions about a couple of discrepancies, I loved Nicholas and Kestrals love story so much I went ahead and gave it 5 STARS.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Time travel....imagine the possibilities! With true historical events mixed in with her own imagination, Paula Quinn brings us a truly magical first story in her brand new series, Echoes in Time. I love this author's way of writing, she brings everything to life with her wonderful characters.

Echo of Roses is the first book in this new series and it's Nicholas and Kestrel's story. A mysterious brooch, finding herself in the fifteenth century, in the middle of the War of Roses, Kestrel's life is turned completely upside down. When Nicholas saves her in the middle of a battlefield, he's quite attracted to this strange woman but secrets and what looks like witchery will make their relationship quite an interesting one! As they both struggle to adjust and the future is in danger of being changed, a true love is forged and fought for.

I now look forward to the next books in this series, Paula Quinn has really whetted my appetite for more!!

I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
