DNF. I got maybe 40% in before I just couldn't keep going. The cover and blurb were promising and I couldn't wait to read something different, but it just missed the mark for me.
Camilla, when she turns to 18 a lot of things start to happen. People keep talking about her eyes and these powers start to suddenly appear with no rhym or reason. While the Queen which these powers come from is questioning whats going on as she shouldn;t be losing it yet.
The characters could have used more details and instead they were too borning to want to read about. The world busiling can use some more work too.
I would give it a chance again if these things were worked on.

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I received an advanced copy of this ebook from the publisher for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. This book is fast paced. I enjoyed Camilla and Logan's characters. If this book gets a sequel I would definitely read it. I would definitely highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This ebook is in stores for $5.99 (USD).

This book is not good and I did not like it at all. The idea is good but the execution is not the best, many times it became ridiculous and I only thought of: wtf.
I am very sorry because I think it promises a lot and although I did not hate it, I do not recommend this book, it lacks execution and editorial review.
I have nothing more to say, nor do I really want to review this book.
This book has such a beautiful cover and the blurb seemed a little interesting. But the characters were meh... Extine was a little interesting, but Camilla was boring and bland... It did not keep me interested...
This one made me cringe. While I enjoyed the story and the characters enough, the premise was just poking my subconscious. An easy, but not exactly memorable read.
Eh it's alright. It's your typical "family, revenge, forbidden love" vibes. I just some what finished it but I wouldn't really read another book if there was another
Thank you NetGalley for giving me this copy in exchange for an honest review. This book had a lot of potential. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. However this book didn't feel fully formed and a lot of things happened in the book that just didn't make sense to me. I found myself re-reading certain paragraphs to try to fill in information that I may have missed. Dialogue felt stiff and forced. I think this book has a lot of value but really needs a good editing and maybe some re-working.
🌟 Spoiler Free Review 🌟 of The Girl who Stole the Queen's Eyes by Marilize Loxton
The story follows a hidden magical kingdom that exists in our world but is protected from detection by magical powers of the Queen/King. In this kingdom, the first born of each generation gains special powers through their eyes. The books follows two POVs, Extine, the Queen of this magical land who is starting to become blind and Camilla, a young girl who just turned 18 and discovered that she now has special powers that she should not posses.
First of all, I absolutely love the cover of this book, it is absolutely beautiful 😍 When it comes to the book itself, one major thing is that I wish the whole book just would follow Pearl and Extine. Camilla just annoyed me so much, I hated every time the story focused on her. I understand if she was 11, but for an 18 year old she was incredibly immature and naive. I would have much preferred to follow her story through the eyes of her mother, Pearl. And it would have created an interesting balance having the POVs of the two sisters.
I think this book could be an interesting series, but as a standalone I felt that it was slightly rushed.
Really loved the writing but overall the plot felt a bit 2 dimensional. Characters were fleshed out nicely and oh did i love the setting!
Just couldn’t personally get into this book. Just not my type of story. I personally just need some spice and more romance.
An interesting fantasy YA, "The Girl Who Stole the Queen's Eyes" was an interesting read that lost me for a chapter or two, but after continuing to read the book, it became much more engaging. The dual-setting between the real world and magical kingdom was confusing at first, but when the barrier between the two places was broken, the chaos that ensued made for a great plot. Told from various viewpoints, the reader really gets to understand the main character as well as the queen while also detailing the events occurring that connect both of their worlds.
This book was any easy and quick read for me. The concept of forbidden love and the subtle yet not subtle nod towards a medusa retelling really drew me into this book. There was nothing that I didn't like, the writing was smooth and without faults.

LOVE the cover, it is very eye catching!
Instantly I was intrigued with the first page. There wasn't really any world building you just get bits and pieces throughout the book. I still had questions at the end of the book, I think some elaborating on the powers that keep their world hidden and why would have added to the story. The ended felt very rushed also. The whole book was fairly fast paced but that ending just felt abrupt.
I liked the book overall, well written.
If you want a premise that completely matches the vibes of the title and cover, this is the one!
I enjoyed the fantasy-content of the premise, and the overall plot was executed well. I just wish it was longer and expanded more of the world-building (which was set very well). There are triggers for bullying, so if you are sensitive to this subject, you may want to go in cautious.
Overall, this was a super solid 3 out of 5 stars.

"The Girl Who Stole The Queen’s Eyes" – Marillze Loxton
Thank you to @NetGalley and author Marillze Loxton for ARC of this eBook. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Camilla, 18, unknowingly the heir to a kingdom. Hapless, shy and lacking confidence Camilla isn’t the ideal candidate for queendom. Daughter of Pearl & Finn, Camilla is an illegitimate child and her parents broke the sacred laws of Escana.
Extine, Queen or Escana, Sister of Pearl, Aunt to Camilla and wife to Finn. She is one nasty piece of work.
What can I say, this was a wonderful, secret kingdom, a fractured and messed up family and a story of true love.
Absolutely enchanting and magical.

This was a really well done fantasy read, I enjoyed getting to know the characters and their universe. It was a beautifully done story with an interesting premise.
