Very cute and easy to read rom com book. Most of the characters were easy to like and relate to. I gave it three stars because I felt that there were some loose ends and unexplained issues within the main character and her one friendship. It was all over the place and had me confused for a majority of the time.
Finding herself single at almost 40 has Annie fed up. Annie takes her dating life in her own hands like any smart woman would do, she gets drunk and sends some infamous drunks texts. Will these drunk texts work out or will Annie find Mr. Right on her own?

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I really loved this book, probably because this is literally going to be me except with out the success. The story lines plays to how every single woman has ever felt. It was a quick read, believable story without it being a Hallmark movie. I would recommend this one!
THANK YOU Julie Hammerle, Entangled Publishing LLC, and Netgalley for this ARC!
This was a cute book. I really identified with Annie. When you’re single & you reach a certain age, you think about it at times. I liked it!
It's Raining Men by Julie Hammerle is an enjoyable story of an almost 40 year-old doctor who, after getting incredibly drunk, wakes up to the possibility of two marriage proposals of convenience and yet a subtle attraction to the 27 year-old bartender who took her home (platonically). The book goes through the highs and lows of getting older, friendships changing, and the restless feelings that come with trying to figure out how to balance work and relationships - personal and romantic. While the target demographic for this book might be a little older than I am currently (I lean closer to the "too young" bartender than the leading lady), I still felt like I could connect with the characters & understand where they were coming from. I think anyone who has grown out of friendships, or had friends settle down/have kids, will understand and relate to different parts of this book. Plus there are dogs in it, so that is always enjoyable.
Overall this was a nice, quick read. There were some tough emotional moments, but everything worked out in such a way that the ending felt satisfying. It didn't wrap everything up in such a nice little bow that it seemed unrealistic, but the ending doesn't leave you wanting. If you are looking for a beach read this summer, this is a good one to pick up.
A delightful, fun romantic comedy with loads of quirky characters and even a dog named Joanne.
Annie is a concierge doctor in Chicago who is about to turn forty and starts to reassess her life when her best friend and roommate suddenly gets engaged and moves out. During an alcohol-fueled evening, she texts 39 of the men in her contacts and tells them she is ready to settle down and asks if anyone is interested. She’s surprised when two of the men reply that they are interested! One if Robert, the son of her mother’s next-door neighbor and her high school crush, and the other is the flashy news reporter Darius.
This is a fun, light fast-paced book, that was enjoyable from the very beginning of the book. Annie is a well-developed character who is easy to root for. Dax, Darius, and Rob are all fun characters, with their own flaws and issues that make for a tough decision for Annie. Annie’s friends are quirky and real and add some additional levity to the story. And Joanne, the dog, is a fun, lighthearted addition to the story.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a heartwarming, fun romantic comedy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I thought this book was super cute, and I liked Annie and Dax, but I didn’t find their relationship super convincing. It was rushed and I don’t know if cute moments happened off the page, but not much happened on it.
And I was also incredibly bugged by Kelly, so any scene with her I didn’t enjoy. She was a horrible friend... unsupportive, not understanding, selfish, I’m not sure how they stayed friends for so long. I mean, I understand how Annie was way too into her job, but with a friend like Kelly, who needs enemies.
Also, I wish the synopsis had been more vague. I hate when you can tell exactly where a novel is going just from the summary.
It’s raining men is a charmingly fun read, that had me hooked from the first chapter. Full of likable characters, and an adorable dog names Joanne, It was easy to become invested in the story.
Annie is a successful concierge physician who is always available for her clients. Her lack of free time was never a problem until her best friend Kelly announces that she is getting married. Feeling like she is the last man standing, as all her friends couple up, Annie has a night of feeling sorry for herself and a bit too much to drink.
The morning after, Annie faces more than a hangover when she realizes she sent the ultimate marriage proposal to 39 men in her contacts. Surprisingly, there are two men who have said yes. But are they the right guys for her?
The story that follows is genuine. I liked how Annie had to decide what she really wanted. Is it a marriage that will fit with her busy successful life, or should she hold out for true love? The romance is sweet and enjoyable and I read this in one day.
I recommend this book.
