I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Kassie O’Callaghan has a date set for her divorce and new love interest and a chance to revive her career. All these good things at once is a bit overwhelming but she is eager to push forward. To add to the craziness, while on a work trip in Paris, she meets an old love.. how can she get her life straight. It doesn’t help when her soon to be ex, has a heart attack back in Boston. It’s a whirlwind when she lands in Boston. She meets her ex’s new fiancée, who seems to only be interest in what she can get from her ex husband. Kassie has so many things to figure out and she doesn’t have much time to get it all done. This is a fun quick read. It had some good plot twists and I had to see how it ended. This was a four star read for me. I want to thank Netgalley and Valerie Taylor for my copy for an honest review. It was my pleasure to read and review it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I have been waiting for this follow up! I loved Kassie’s continued quest for happiness. There is so much drama - I sped through this and can’t wait for the next one!
Talk about a twisted family tree! For sure this is one full of twists. After 30 years of marriage, and so many lies, it is just a few months away from divorce court. Both people have moved on, She is offered a dream opportunity. But things are complicated. Interesting story for sure.
I love a good family drama and this book has the drama in spades! It's like a soap opera but very well written with dynamic characters. Our main character, Kassie, is trying to find happiness and experiences a lot of complications along the way. The book is very entertaining with a satisfying ending! I liked What's Not True enough to want to read book one (What's Not Said) and am also hoping for a book #3. **Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this advanced copy.
In a tale of the truth will set you free, this is actually the opposite- what’s not true will set you free!
This is the sequel to What’s Not Said.
This can be read as a stand alone, but I do revoke f that you read both!
This book is full of complicated characters, betrayals, and several twists and turns.
Kassie is so close to her divorce being final from Mike, with the court date finally set. She’s trying to revive her seemingly dead marketing career and at the same time trying to leave behind a relationship with a younger guy Chris.
When Kassie and Chris find themselves back together in Paris, Kassie finds out her husband has had a heart attack and she returns home to Boston. But she had to contend with his fiancé, the woman who is only concerned about the ring and nothing else.
When Kassie fights to protect what is hers, she realizes that what isn’t true can be exactly what sets you free.
Loved the plot, the well developed and well written characters. The web of secrets was brought together well,
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read/review.
This authors work is so amazing. The story lines just keep you on your toes and you never to know what to expect at the end. I was introduced to her by a friend and will continue to read her work
Just when the world of possibilities opens to Kassie , she is compelled home. Home to an ex husband with dire health issues,Kassie sees her world narrow again . Circumstances force Kaiser to admit and fight for her future.
This is a sequel to What’s Not Said. I would recommend reading it first so that you can get the full picture of what’s going on. The book was like a soap opera and was very easy to read. The book keeps you guessing at what will happen next. I’d recommend this book to others.
This book was the first I read by this author. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
I didn't realize that this book was a sequel going in. That being said, I read it and really enjoyed it. I loved the dialogue in this book. It was a fun easy read. I really liked how interwoven the characters are also. Over all it was a quick and fun read.
I will definitely check out other books by this author
I received an eARC of What's Not True by Valerie Taylor from She Writes Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
4 stars! What's Not True is a sequel to What's Not Said. It can be read as a standalone. There is so much family drama and twisted dynamics. This isn't a boring read by any means.
Great book. Highly recommend and will most defiantly read more by this author and suggest to others!
I was lucky to receive an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinion. The storyline in this book was well done and well worth the read. This book is a sequel to “What’s Not Said,” and while it can be read as a standalone book, I recommend reading the first one to cement the characters and timeline in the reader’s mind. I really enjoyed the storyline and would absolutely recommend this book to my friends and family to read!
Do u believe in second chances? Kassie is going through a divorce which they both knew was going to happen. Her & Mike grew apart the last couple of years and now she has another chance at happiness but should she take it? Kassie knows that Chris wants their relationship to work but will the family history destroy what they could have? Chris wants to prove to her that he is all in and nothing can tear them apart again. But will this be their time?
Mike misses Kassie at times but he knows that he made his choice but he isn't that sure about Karen as her actions lately have been strange. But he needs to move forward and he really hopes that Kassie will give Chris another chance in the future.
Everything changes when Mike has a heart attack as everyone comes home and things all start making sense to Kassie. Will she be able to go forward with her plans now that everything has changed? Will her & Chris get their happy ever after?Secrets & lies will all be revealed and then everyone will need to make a choice. Who will get what they want in the end? A good read.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Netgalley & the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read What's Not True by Valerie Taylor. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Was a far fetched story? Yes. Were the characters unbelievable? Yes. But it all worked making it a fun book to read. I didn't realize this was the second book in a series. It would have added to the story for me to have read how Kassie tracked down Mike's old girlfriend and Chris, how Mike survived a kidney transplant and the history of Kassie's past relationship with Chris'. That said, it can still be a stand alone book. I highly recommend it!
Lovely romance and a wonderful happy ending to all.
I would suggest reading book #1 first though, otherwise the characters can get a bit confusing.
Excellent book that I didn’t want to put down. I’ll look forward to finding my books by this author to read. Well done!
This is my first book by this author. While it's #2 in a series, I read it as a stand alone and loved it just the same. You might want to keep a scorecard when it comes to Mike and his antics. His soon to be ex wife, Kassim is no innocent wallflower either. This book will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Great story that keeps you on your toes!
Although I had not read the first book in this series, I read this book because it is ''marketed'' as a standalone, but I feel like not knowing the characters and the backstory made it impossible for me to enjoy this read. The author often referenced events from the previous book, the cast of characters was too large and the story was a bit convoluted and too confusing to really grab my attention, unfortunately.
This book was definitely not for me, but I would recommend this read to anyone looking for a fair amount of drama, affairs and a soapy read. However, I feel like you need to read the first book before diving into this one to fully appreciate What's Not True.
Thank you to Netgalley, Valerie Taylor and the publisher for the e-ARC of What's Not True. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What's Not True
by: Valerie Taylor
She Writes Press
The novel What's Not True is a sequel to Valerie Taylor's book "What's Not Said". It is also a stand-alone book, but I would recommend reading these in order to make it easier to follow the story. The book is a contemporary character-driven tale of relationships, affairs, love, and secrets. There is certainly lots of drama with complex characters and situations in the narrative.
