Teatime at Grosvenor Square is an absolute delight of a cookbook! Based on the wildly popular Regency series, Bridgerton, it's just as decadent, delectable, and luscious as the show! Full of beautiful photographs depicting the many sweets and savories that were showing up in regency parlors and drawing rooms across the homes of London's famous "Ton", it's just as mouthwatering as the Bridgerton men themselves! From more classic recipes such as cream puffs and proper English scones, to more modern luscious recipes such as Cranberry Brie Tarts, Honey Fig Crostini, and Nectarine and Goat Cheese Toasts, you'll find luscious and scrumptious foods for your next small gathering, teatime, celebration, or picnic! Examples of beautiful food presentation will capture your imagination and leave your mouth watering with each turn of the page!

I highly recommend this lovely cookbook and would like to thank Dahlia Clearwater, Net Galley, and the publisher for an opportunity to read this book prior to publication for my honest review.

This was a delightfully amusing cookbook. Recipes are inspired on Regency era teatime but are suitable for the modern day. I enjoyed reading through the descriptions of each recipe and cannot wait to test some of these out myself.

This is Bridgerton fanfiction for foodies! Now you can bring the Regency Era into your own home with this delectable, beautiful cookbook. The recipes are grouped into five sections: Canapes, Scones and Spreads, Teatime Sweets, Dinner Party Fare, and Regency Cocktails. The recipes are clearly written. Even the most complex dishes, such as Roast Duck Fit For A Duke or Lavender Lamb are easy to follow and don’t require you to be a master chef. If you gather in the proper ingredients and pay attention to the recipe, you’ll be just fine.

Each recipe starts with a fun introduction. For example, here’s one for Marriage Market Punch. “Nothing helps soothe the nerves during a new London Season like a delightful (and strongly spiked) champagne punch! Rum (or brandy) gives this flavorful beverage an extra kick to encourage strong attachments.”

I look forward to trying many of these seventy-five indulgent recipes. I’m particularly tempted by Honeyed Fig Crostini, Red Currant Queen Cakes, Blackberry Whipped Cream, Pears Poached in White Wine… and do I dare attempt that Lavender Lamb? Perhaps after a few Lemon-Mint Cordial Cocktails… or perhaps a Brandy Daisy with Orgeat.

I will confess that I’ve never baked my own scones, though I’ve enjoyed those made by family and friends. Now, should I try Proper English Scones, Regency Raisin Scones, Cherry Scones, Cranberry Orange Scones, Secretly Sweet Scones, or Cream Tea Scones? How *very* Regency to offer a lavish excess of choices. No matter which one I choose, I’ll need to make a topping, Will it be a clotted cream, or jam, perhaps marmalade, maybe a curd butter or a flavorful whipped cream? So many choices.

It’s going to be a grand season!

Thank you to NetGalley and Skyhorse Publishing for the chance to read an early copy of this book!

I am a huge fan of Bridgerton and historical romance in general, so there was no way I would pass up the chance to take a look. As I would hope, the pictures and formatting are gorgeous (though of course some things were still in progress in the version I saw) and the copy heading each recipe has cheeky references to various Bridgerton events. So from just a visual perspective, great.

However, there are some aspects that make it frustrating as a cookbook. As a terrible cook who likes to keep things easy, I was confused by the widely varying difficulty of recipes. There's everything from assembling a sandwich to making a meringue. Even within similar recipes, it varies - for some of the canapes you use premade ingredients like puff pastry but in other you make it yourself. Meanwhile, I asked my sister (an enthusiastic amateur baker) for her thoughts from the other side of the knowledge spectrum; she thought the recipes should have had both metric and imperial instructions (like grams and cups) within the recipes themselves instead of just a conversion chart at the back, and that in the recipes she glanced at, she wanted more specificity about equipment size, or details like where you need to let something cool a bit before mixing it with egg so you don't cook the egg.

Finally, everything is exactly as indulgent as promised. So many cookies and jams and canapes and tartlets... Pretty much the only thing I could imagine actually making for myself were tea sandwiches (chicken and cranberry or turkey and brie!).

This being a Regency-type cookbook, there are plenty of classic food and drink like white soup and ratafia, flummery and blancmange, but there's no history mentioned. And as mentioned above, some recipes do use modern conveniences--premade tart shells or puff pastries, pudding mix, even lemon-lime soda. Ultimately I would say this is kind of like Bridgerton itself--nods toward historical accuracy but certainly making it clear this is a modern sensibility.

So if you're looking for a historical cookbook, this won't be quite your thing, and as mentioned the recipes are really quite varied. This works best as a kind of coffee table book - pretty pictures and cute references to Bridgerton, which it does very well.

While it's hard to review a cookbook, this book's descriptions and photos made me want to buy a hard copy of this once it's released. I loved the little blurb at the beginning of each recipe. This book would be the perfect accompaniment to anyone who enjoys watching Bridgerton or who wants to prepare some special snacks for future viewing parties.

Teatime at Grosvenor Square is a delightful and perfectly charming cookbook. Its a media tie in for Bridgerton and it does well to make the brightness and romanticism of it. It contains every one needs to do a themed tea or party as it states in the introduction. The sections are canapes, scones and spreads, teatime sweets, dinner party fare, and recency cocktails. The recipes are clearly written and nothing uses an rarely uncommon or unusual ingredients. I could definitely see using this for a tea party blending the canapes, scones, and sweets or doing a dinner with some of the dinner party items and a cocktail. For fans of the show or those wanting a complete book for a tea I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Teatime at Grosvenor Square.

I haven't seen Bridgerton yet (I know, I know, what am I waiting for?) but the cover of this book caught my eye.

The recipes, for the most part, aren't that difficult to do. I may even be able to make them without causing a mess. I like the jokes and references to Bridgerton and the photos came through on my Kindle without an issue.

This would be a great gift for a Bridgerton or Regency romance fan or anyone who loves recipes from this time period, but not for a hardcore cook.

Quite a few recipes, including both simpler ones as well as some that are a bit more involved. Some recipes you wouldn’t see all the time and definitely fun for a teatime party. Really like the addition of the cocktail section at the back!

A fun book for fans of Bridgerton.

This cookbook is a must for Bridgerton fans and anyone wanting Regency era recipes. A lot of the recipes are not for the kitchen novice, but the only things I can bake come premade in cans or plastic, lol. Aside from the recipes, the commentary is cute and full of Bridgerton references. These recipes would be at home at any Bridgerton party.

This book is a perfect Bridgerton companion. Filled with recipes for everything you need to be a hostess worthy of the "ton." You will be inspired to host your own Bridgerton tea party.

Teatime at Grosvenor Square is a fun cookbook with beautifully mouth-watering photos of delicious treats. Each recipe is accompanied by a little intro connecting it to the characters of Bridgerton and the Regency era. There's a wide variety of recipes, with some quick and easy enough to whip up for afternoon tea and others more time consuming and involved. I look forward to making some Classic Cucumber Sandwiches and Regency Raisin Scones for my next viewing of Bridgerton!

Let’s flip to the back of the book and pour ourselves some regency cocktails as we discuss this new cookbook meant for fans of Brigerton. This cookbook is no joke. Five scone recipes, advice on clotted cream, and they recommend using a food processor! There is a recipe for everyone who wants to go back in time and eat a stick of butter with dinner in the best way. My only advice is that your family members will want to try whatever you make even if they’re not supportive of your Netflix binges. I myself made a cucumber sandwich and sat by my pianoforte. I only wish that there were more pictures of the beautiful meals. .

Nice book covering teatime recipes. Most of them have some reference to Bridgerton (the show) in either the title of the recipe or the opening paragraph. The majority of the recipes also have a full color photograph of the finished dish. Recipe chapters are canapes, scones and spreads, teatime sweets, dinner-party fare, and Regency cocktails. A great book for fans of high tea, the show, or both, and it would make a nice gift as well.

From the luscious cover to the mouthwatering photography to the fabulous recipes, this book is delectable. Culinary history, cooking/baking and the Regency Era are my wheelhouse. The descriptions before each recipe are lovely and informative, too, with tidbits about Bridgerton ("...this creation is as mouthwatering as the Bridgerton men"). Interestingly, though I have celiac disease, many of these recipes can be adapted with substitutions and some are naturally gluten free. For example, some of the recipes call for a baguette or tart shells to combine with toppings such as Honeyed Fig Crostini which is on my list to make (I adore fresh figs). Though the recipes often sound refined and luxurious...and they are lovely...they are actually easy to make.

More recipes on my to make list include Mushroom and Quail Egg Canapes, Avocado Mousse Crostini, Sweet Pea and Leek Tartlets, More-Than-Tea Sandwiches, Creamy Vanilla Flummery, Raspberry Almond Mousse and Tower-Worthy Macarons (I'm always eager to make different versions including the Cinnamon Macarons with Brandy Buttercream), This morning I made Cinnamon Honey Butter which was amazing with my gluten free biscuits. That will now be a staple. Last evening we had the Classic Cucumber Sandwiches (oh, my!). Little touches such as butters or homemade jams make all the difference. I am also eager to make the Lavender Lamb and Roast Duck Fit for a Duke.

My mom, sisters and nieces and I adore special teas which we can resume soon according to covid rules. I already have a menu planned using recipes from this timely book! This book would be wonderful for my B&B owner friends and simply those who wish to bake something special.

My sincere thank you to Skyhorse Publishing and NetGalley for the privilege of reading (and drooling over) this lovely book.

Not much meat to it ( pun intended) but the recipes are a great way to become the lady of the manor even if you have to prepare he food yourself. Most of the recipes seemed easy enough. The cakes, scones, teatime treats really whet my interest and my appetite. The dinner party fare and cocktails weren't of much interest to me If I can't go back and live in that time, I surely can eat like they did. What a marvelous book
