I really loved the first in this series and was really excited to read this follow-up. I love books that feature fat characters and this one did it really well. It was a good read, but nothing really special. It's probably not one I'll re-read again and again. But I did enjoy it.

All the Feels by Olivia Dade is the follow up novel to Spoiler Alert and features a new couple and one of my favorite characters from the book, Alex Woodroe. I read this one back in March, but am just now getting a chance to share my thoughts on the book. I devoured it in just a few days. The humor, the romance, and the emotional upheaval it wreaked on my heart is unparalleled. I fell in love with Alex and empathized with Lauren as a fellow curvy girl. Fans of heartfelt romantic comedies are sure to be pleased with this one.

We first met Alex in Spoiler Alert as the self-proclaimed best friend of Marcus. He’s known as a playboy, charming and oozing sex appeal. However there is a side to Alex that few see. He’s caring, empathetic, and loves deeply. What truly endeared him to me is his ADHD. Dade does a fantastic job of writing a true to life character with Alex: his struggles with ADHD, how his mind jumps from one thing to the next in no real order, how easily he becomes frustrated, and how he can be slightly obsessive with protecting his loved ones (related to a traumatic childhood experience that drives a lot of what his character does).

Lauren is slightly harder to like, but easy for me to empathize with. She’s an ER therapist, loves what she does and is very good at it. BUT she’s hit burnout. Too many long hours and not enough time to decompress has left her with few options. She’s resigned from her job and trying to decide what to do next in her life when her cousin (who is a douche canoe) offers her a job babysitting Alex who has gotten himself in hot water after a bar fight. Lauren feels she has no choice but to accept (been there!). I love her dynamic with Alex. It doesn’t take her long to figure out that Alex has his own demons, and she takes it upon herself to help him exorcise them.

Overall, I loved All the Feels. As the title suggests, it gave me all the feels from laughing to crying to heartwarming to heartbreak. I loved returning to the same world as Spoiler Alert as well. The cast of characters are familiar, and we get to see them through a new set of eyes. I loved the dual perspective as it helped me like Alex (not sure if I would’ve if I’d only had Lauren’s perspective). Highly recommend for fans of romance.

I love Olivia Dade with all my hearts and any book she releases I will read. I loved Alex and Lauren, their dynamic and relationship was so heartwarming. It was also fun having the cameos from the first book every once in awhile. Overal lovely book and I can't wait for the next one.

I love to see plus size representation in books and that's mostly why I picked this up! It was a good read, didn't make me feel anything though which is why I'm giving 3 stars. Not a bad rating. I didn't absolutely love it but I didn't hate it either. Will be picking up more from the author.

This book was so great. I really loved how the main characters connected, and can't wait to read more in this series.

This book ended up being a DNF. Rating is based solely on the content I did read. I ultimately found the pacing and development of the story and/or characters not engaging enough to continue on and finish the complete book. Chose not to continue on with series with this book

This book was everything I wanted it to be. It had me turned pages without even realizing. It was so good!

This was such a cute book! It is the second in a series, but can be read as a stand-alone. I really loved the chemistry between the two characters in this book and the body positivity. If you’re looking for a good romance read, I recommend checking this one out!

This book meant a lot to me because of the representation and body diversity it portrayed. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and have been so excited to see all the great and positive attention it has received from reviews. Here's to more books with more diversity, making people of all backgrounds feel seen and heard.

The couple's dynamic in this one didn't work for me at all. I just can't root for the couple in this one. I understand that Alex is a "delightful asshole" but to me, he just seems like an immature man-child. I don't know how I can want Lauren and Alex together when he's so derisive from the beginning. He clearly doesn't find her attractive at all, constantly commenting on how bird-like she is and how her eyes are the only halfway decent thing about her. I love a plus-sized heroine, but I love it even more when she gets a love interest that truly finds her beautiful and sexy, and smart. Lauren deserves better than Alex. Don't readers deserve to see a plus-sized heroine whose love interest is attracted to her? You can do enemies to lovers ( and I wouldn't honestly call this book enemies to lovers, just strangers to lovers) without attacking the heroine all the time.

What an amazing follow up to Spoiler Alert! Olivia Dade’s commitment to and knowledge of fandom is so evident, and I love seeing plus size rep in romance.

Ever since I finished Spoiler Alert, I was excited for Dade to write more in this universe. All the Feels did not disappoint and I absolutely loved Alex and Lauren's story!

I found the writing style a bit difficult for me to get into at the beginning but it definitely took some getting used to before I really drove into the story. That being said, not sure if it's because I'm a fat, this book just didn't resonate with me. I love me some great banter but when it's demeaning, probably a little too demeaning, it's like we got to end it somewhere. Happy to see the toned down fanfic though!

I really shouldn't read so many romcoms back to back like this because, by the time I got to this one, I felt less impressed with things I might usually enjoy. Alex as a hyperactive ADHD boyish actor is charming and as self-absorbed as you would expect. Lauren has been worn down by her job as a emergency room therapist and allows everyone to walk all over her. The talk about self-esteem and respecting yourself was a nice addition to a romcom, but I didn't really feel the romantic leaning that led to the two main characters falling in love. To be honest, I think I felt it more in the interstitial chats and scenes Alex had in Spoiler Alert than I did here.

The best part of this book is the things that happen between chapters - the chats, the fic selections, etc. I wanted more of Lauren's best friend or more of anyone for Lauren to interact with that wasn't just Alex. He sucked the air out of the room, usually in a good way, but it left character development for Lauren a bit lacking. I wanted to see more of her as herself, outside his orbit.

It's a fine book, maybe a bit on the long side, and I prefer the first one. I still appreciate a man (much less a star of a fictional television show) being so well-versed on fandom and fic ideas.

4 stars

This book was full of tropes, even deliberately pointed out/acted out by our main characters! So that nod to fanfiction and the romance genre was really fun to see. I'd say the main two here are 'forced proximity' and 'opposites attract'.

Alex is gorgeous and famous, and his impulsive nature has landed him in hot water with the production team of the hit TV show he stars on. The jerk showrunner hires his cousin to be babysitter and minder to Alex, and Lauren is a no-nonsense stick in the mud that Alex is determined to aggravate at every opportunity. They quickly form a truce, and then a friendship, as Lauren realizes that Alex really needs some love and attention, and he's an honorable and deeply caring man. Alex is intrigued by Lauren's unconventional appearance, and finds her dry humor is a front disguising her caring and generous nature. Sparks begin to fly between this unlikely pair, even as Alex's career is in major jeopardy...

I found this book to be very readable and well paced, if a little light on plot (I connected more with characters in the first book).
I loved our two main characters, I thought they were both written to be full rounded personalities and had their own issues that were layered into their everyday thoughts and came up during the forming of the relationship. This appears to be something author Olivia Dade does well--showing how realistically everyone carries 'baggage' and how opening up to someone and falling for them is a revealing of the tender parts of ourselves. That being said, sometimes Alex bordered on annoying or childish to me, with his purposely trying to bait Lauren. And though Lauren's dry wit brought plenty of humor, I wanted a few more moods from her as well.

Be still my heart! Such a good story. I loved finally having a character with ADHD, and portrayed so well. Plus the romance was A+. More please!

All right, this is the sequel/companion to Spoiler Alert, which I also read and loved, and there is a third book coming out in November that I also can’t wait to read.

These books contain wonderful characters and highlight a number of characteristics that I honestly think we should see more representation of in stories and shows and such. The leading lady of this story, Lauren, is plus-size. And leading man Alex writes fanfiction about the character he plays in the show Gods of the Gates.

And both Lauren and Alex have their own internal struggles and anxieties and traumas to deal with. It adds even more dimension to the story overall, which I enjoy. There are humorous moments and emotional moments, and it was overall an enjoyable experience to watch Alex tease and flirt with Lauren, and to witness Lauren start to fall for him in spite of her attempts to remain distant and professional.

Of course this book also includes cameos from the leading couple of the previous book, and I feel like some of the characters mentioned from both books so far will either become main characters in future installments or will at least continue making appearances throughout. So far everyone has had some sort of connection to Gods of the Gates.

Actually, now that I’m writing this, it’s making me want to go back and read Spoiler Alert and All the Feels all over again. I’m a sucker for a well-executed story that has some kind of a focus on fandom.

Love Olivia Dade and this series. It's so fun, nerdy, sexy, layered! I've suggested this book many times to customers and people just... in the world.

I LOVED this book so much. I had read middling reviews of it by other early reviewers, but I thought it was fantastic – just like SPOILER ALERT. I will read anything that this author writes!
