Such a cute light read. I absolutely loved Alexander and his chemistry with Lauren was amazing. I really liked it just felt I didn’t like it enough to give it 5 stars.
I loved All the Feels so much! SO MUCH. Alex is one of my most favorite male leads ever.
If you’ve read Spoiler Alert, then you know about Alex and his jailed Lauren. Alex was delightful in Spoiler Alert, so I was excited for him to get his own book. My expectations we exceeded in every way. Alex stole my heart almost immediately. He is incredibly charming, and though at first, he may seem irresponsible, he isn’t. He has so much love and loyalty. I loved the way that the book slowly peeled back the layers of both Lauren and Alex. Because it was told in the third person. We were given some insight into their feelings while still maintaining some mystery.
Lauren and Alex were so adorable. The way that they reacted to one another. They both indeed provided each other with something they needed. Olivia Dade again brings focus to some underrepresented characteristics. Alex suffers from ADHD and a lot of guilt from some things in his past, and Lauren is not exactly the type of woman most people would consider objectively good-looking.
Like with Spoiler Alert, there is some emphasis on fan fiction which I adored. It is also just as steamy, though I admit I anticipated that certain things were going to happen based on hints in the fanfiction written about cupid, so I was a little disappointed there.
I don’t want to totally spoil the end of the book, but I loved how it ended. It seemed exactly right for these characters. This book (yes, I”m going to say it) really did give me All the Feels. I laughed often and am not ashamed to admit I may have even shed a tear.
I cannot shout loud enough about how excellent this book is. Just do yourself a favor and read it!
Side characters from Spoiler Alert now become main characters in All the Feels. Another wonderful read with a focus on body positivity.
Alex is such a sweet character! I loved how he's such a man and such a child, all at once. Lauren is a great female lead, sort of the strong and silent type. A good follow-up to Spoiler Alert, it was great to have much of the base story carry through as it's really interesting.
I've learned so much about Fan-Fiction from both of these books, things I had no clue about. And the sex scenes have literally raised my eyebrows a time or two. Dade really doesn't hold back on those scenes!
If RomCom's with spicy scenes are your jam, you've got to pick up this series.
Thank you so much to #avon and #netgalley for the opportunity to review #allthefeels. All opinions are my own.
Imagine a fanfic where one of the main characters is aware of fanfic and is an avid consumer and creator of it while having a ranked list of tropes. That is the absolute chaos and fun of All the Feels.
This book is a funny, sweet, and sometimes touching read. If you are a fan of both nerdery and romcoms, this is the book for you. Oh and it’s pretty spicy too. Alex and Lauren are a very fun couple with an intriguing and wholesome dynamic.
As both individuals and a couple, Alex and Lauren are just delightful. They’re funny. They’re cute. They’re spicy. They’re the whole package. Definitely worth a read if romcoms are your speed.
This book was everything I needed at the moment, a steamy romance novel that managed to make me cry, laugh and smile. I definitely recommend not only this book, but basically anything from Olivia Dade.
Olivia Dade has me on chokehold. I adore her books and this one wasn't different. It was funny, steamy, romantic and emotional. Basically everything you may seek in a romance book. I loved this.
6 star favorite of the year
Yet again Olivia Dade has me in love with her characters and the world. I can not believe how much I adored Alex and Lauren. I was so invested on their relationship progress, how it unfolded and where they ended up.
Also the pegging references were top tier.
Spoiler Alert was amazing, and now here we are with ALL THE FEELS. And it does not disappoint. Lauren went from the ER to a wreck. Sure Alex is hot and charismatic on the outside but on the inside, he knows he is on the way out. There is also the next big star. SO he waits and while he waits he acts out. Lauren walks the line pretty well but of course, things don't stay professional for long. But it isn't like neither one will be in a hurry to admit till. But then a new pathway comes and we GET ALL THE FEELS thinking this is it, they part ways and as the reader we are sad. But then what is the fun in that? Just because there is a happily ever after doesn't mean there are some bumps in the road as we watch Alexander and Lauren grow within themselves and together.
Fun, quick read. Loved the characters and the humor of the book and the fan fic action in it. These characters made me laugh and feel for them! Will definitely be reading more
From this author
I had a really hard time getting into this book and DNF around 20%. I am willing to put that more on my mindset while trying to read this than the book, as I've enjoyed Dade's work in the past. For that reason I will leave the book as a 3/5. It wasn't active/engaging enough to keep me entertained, but perhaps it's the perfect fit for someone else.
3/5 Stars
Thank you to Netgalley and Avon and Harper Voyager, Avon for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is about moral injury.
The book never explicitly says it - instead, the book’s exact premise is about Lauren’s recovering from work burnout. But it’s not just burnout Lauren has experienced in her job as a therapist in the ER. Lauren talks about the pain and stress of having to make choices between what her conscience and her training tells her what is right, and what the hospital system, bureaucracy, and her coworkers are telling her she should do. Her struggle between helping her clients and protecting her physical, emotional, and mental health. THIS is moral injury.
And so this book hit me extra hard this week, as I was preparing to give my annual training to our new hires about Public Defender Wellness and moral injury. Olivia Dade handles it all beautifully, of course, and still allows this book to be as fun as Spoiler Alert, despite the heavier subject matter. I loved how Lauren and Alex seemed so different (he’s sunshine, she’s harpy), but both have these very similar, strong moral fibers and both take a stand against things they believed to be wrong in their jobs. They’re both dealing with their own unique mental health issues. Ah, and Lauren still wanting to help people and give up herself even after all she’s been through!!! Ah, love her! And there’s fanfic and a road trip and lovingly blatant tropes - what’s not to love?
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC for an exchange for an honest review.
Really love this one. Great job!
very cute! I loved these two characters and getting to read them! I need to go back and read "spoiler alert" now!
Olivia Dade captured a unique and lovely romance in the palm of her adorable hands and blew fanfiction dust on it. Trust when I say that lady nards would swoon if this happened to them. Pop culture and romance and a golden retriever of an ADHD boyfriend that we would die for.
4.5/5 Stars
** I received this as an E-ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review, Thank you!**
I absolutely loved this book. I adored Spoiler Alert and was so excited for this release. I think this book was a little bit more serious as it dose discuss topics of abuse. I adored watching Alex and Lauren interact with each other, they were adorable and funny with their interactions. I also loved the fan fiction aspect here, I was laughing so hard because they were totally relatable. I absolutely would recommend this book. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I'm very excited for future releases from Olivia Dade !!
No one is more shocked than I that I didn’t give this five stars, but I have some THOUGHTS.
The main thing with this book is the difference between the first half and second half, especially in regards to Alex’s character. Throughout the first half, I didn’t love him. The way he thought about Lauren’s body was just so weird to me. He almost constantly made comments about her appearance (in his inner monologue) that weren’t outright cruel, but not positive either. It was so odd and it started to get on my nerves. I will say that by the 50% it stopped, but it bothered me enough to hinder my enjoyment of this story. I also wasn’t loving the direction the plot went in at first. I feel like Dade could’ve done more with these characters honestly.
A lot of things change at the 50% mark, however, and I definitely enjoyed the latter half of the book a lot more bc of that. This is pretty slow burn (nothing happens between them until 60% in), but I think the buildup is worth it once we get to the steamy scenes.
While there were aspects of Alex’s teasing of Lauren that I didn’t love (he would make fun of her a lot for being short and it got old after a while), I liked how he had this attitude of “only I can tease you”. As soon as someone else was rude to Lauren, Alex went OFF and I was so here for that. He also challenges Lauren’s acceptance of other people’s cruelty in regards to her body throughout the story.
I did feel like his sexual attraction to Lauren kind of came out of left field, and I would’ve liked to see a more gradual development of that. I also think they stayed friends a bit too long, even though I also liked the slow burn aspect of it? I’m conflicted lol.
Both Alex and Lauren’s individual character developments were SO well done IMO. They both grown and learn so much, which is amazing to see in a romance novel. Clearly I have a lot of thoughts about this book, but overall I did really enjoy Dade’s writing and sense of humor. The scene where Alex is straight up giddy about there only being one bed bc he loves that trope (and is insanely attracted to Lauren) is my personal fave lol!

The way Olivia Dade has tapped into something that just FEEDS me with this series. I don't reread contemporary as a general rule, but this series has gone to the top of my "Must reread" list. All The Feels truly provided on the promise of the title, and is just as lovely and heartfelt and compulsively readable as the first book in the series. I loved it.
I have two words for you: FORCED PROXIMITY. And a lot of it!
Alex is a famous actor with "anger issues," and Lauren is tasked with keeping him out of trouble. Alex is funny, impulsive, and he's always ready to do anything for the ones he cares about. Lauren is witty, responsible, and she is always putting everyone's needs above her own. If this sounds like a recipe for a great RomCom... well, it is.
Last year I fell in love with Spoiler Alert and Olivia Dade's writing, so I couldn't wait to read All The Feels this year. I loved this one as much as I did the first! I love how the author can incorporate such deep and serious topics without making the book heavy and maintaining its RomCom feel! Lauren and Alex are so relatable and complex, and they go through amazing character development! I also love that Alex writes fanfiction and knows all about tropes. It's so funny how excited he gets when he realizes he is in the middle of one of his favorite tropes. When I tell you I laughed out loud reading this book, I really did!
I would definitely recommend this one for fans of romcoms, plus-size representation, great character development, the famous trope, forced proximity, only-one-bed trope... so many tropes! Hahaha, just trust me, you'll want to read this one!
Okay so I have to admit, I came VERY close to DNFing this one!! Alex made me sooo mad and irritated with his character in the beginning. I was so put off by him. But boy am I glad I kept reading and gave him a chance!! Absolutely fell in love with his character!! His backstory was sooo beautifully heartbreaking! And Lauren! I just saw soo much of myself in her! Absolutely loved their love story and totally recommend this to everyone!
I absolutely loved this book. While my impatient self can only handle so much angst before I explode, the angst/slow burn between these two makes so much sense. Their witty and intelligent banter keeps the story moving. There are references to fat shaming (by characters that deserve your hate), but not by the lead romantic couple. Lauren and Alex are perfect for one another; it just takes them a while to realize it. Their insecurities are grounded in reality as well as genuine emotion. Lauren's character is so relatable and believable. She shines through as strong and smart, ad well as confident. She is also quite brave and loving. I identify with her in so many ways.
I can't stress enough how nice it is to see a plus size woman be portrayed as desirable, with her attributes being portrayed as desirable rather than something her love interest has to "overlook" in order to see her beauty. The more time Alex spends with Lauren, the more he finds her physically attractive. Every part of her sparks his desire, and it is wonderful to watch their love story unfold. I recommend this book. It is a very sweet and enjoyable read.
