I have never liked Lady Susan. So, I goes this prequel could get me to like the character and learn how she became that way. Instead, it did not feel like a Lady Susan prequel. This felt more like a Pride and Prejudice story. I did not think Pride and Prejudice should be included when discussing a Lady Sequel prequel. Still, the novel itself is very funny. However, the correlation between those two novels should remain separate.

I had enjoyed reading this book, it was a great Jane Austen re-imagining. The characters were great and I enjoyed going on this story.

I was really impressed by "Susan, a Jane Austen Prequel".

The novel was close in tone to Austen's novels and the characters and the plot both felt realistic for the time period the novel is set in.

The author also managed to tie in a lot of Austen's characters into her novel in a way that felt natural and true to their established characters from the original novels.

The plot and characters were fun, the resolution satisfying, and I wouldn't mind reading more about this Susan's life.

I'm saying "this Susan" because this is my only gripe with this novel: it doesn't really feel like a prequel to Austen's "Susan" but rather like a stand-alone novel in Austen's universe. This is because the characters of Susan and Alicia don't really feel like they could develop into the characters of the same name in the original novel.

Still, this is an entertaining novel, certainly inspired by Jane Austen, and definitely worth reading for its own merit.

I was enjoying this book but didn’t realise it was just an extract of 94 pages.

However from what I did read I enjoyed.

Excuse me, dear publishers: you made me download just a few pages, whereas I read that this book has 176 pages.
How can I write a rewiew of the book reading just an excerpt?
I can't rate the book because I don't have it. There's something wrong with the download. You didn't upload the whole book, just a few pages. I'm very disappointed.
Of course I wish you could fix the inconvenience so that I can write a proper review with all the stars you deserve. Netgalley forced me to vote, but I just wanted to let you know there was something amiss.
