📖 When Lena’s twin sister, Cambry, commits suicide from jumping off Hairpin Bridge, Lena doesn’t buy it. She wasn’t close to her sister, but she doesn’t believe Cambry would kill herself. So Lena goes to Hairpin Bridge to talk to the officer who found her sister, in order to get some answers.

💭 I loved No Exit. So I had high hopes for Hairpin Bridge. Unfortunately, it fell short for me. There were some twists and turns that kept the story interesting, but overall I just didn’t care for how it all played out. I also got a little confused with the back and forth of the different perspectives and timelines. It just wasn’t for me.

Dang, this one was just ok. It was a slight disappointment after the breakneck pace and page turning story that was No Exit, but it's tough to live up to that. It was a good sophomoric effort. I would read anything Adams writes, as I loved the third book, The Last Word. Glad to see Adams picked it up for the third outing.

Unfortunately this wasn’t my favourite by this author. I loved ‘No Exit’ by Taylor Adams, but this one didn’t live up to my expectations sadly!

I enjoyed the first quarter, and I liked the multiple POVs in the present and past chapters. However, I felt the characters lacked depth and I just wasn’t invested in the main plot/overall mystery. I found myself getting a little confused between the perspectives because each sister was very similar in my opinion. I found the story got a little repetitive, and by the end I didn’t care much for the resolution.

I’m eager to read from Taylor Adams again, but this wasn’t my favourite.

Taylor Adams’ Hairpin Bridge is a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its relentless pace and chilling twists. The story follows Lena Nguyen, determined to uncover the truth behind her twin sister Cambry’s death, ruled a suicide by the authorities. With suspicions of foul play, Lena meets the enigmatic Officer Raymond Raycevic at the remote bridge where her sister died, setting the stage for a tense cat-and-mouse game.

Adams excels at creating an oppressive, nail-biting atmosphere. The isolated setting of the bridge is vividly depicted, amplifying the sense of danger and dread. The narrative alternates between Lena’s perspective, Cambry’s final hours, and Lena’s blog entries, unraveling the mystery in unpredictable ways.

While the action sequences are intense and cinematic, the emotional core of the story—the bond between the sisters—adds depth and heart. Hairpin Bridge is a masterclass in suspense, delivering a fast-paced, twist-filled thriller that will leave readers breathless.

Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams is an intense, fast-paced thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. When Lena Nguyen travels to Montana to investigate her twin sister Cambry’s death on a remote bridge, she finds herself facing off with a sinister cop who seems to know more than he’s saying. What starts as a search for answers quickly turns into a dangerous, high-stakes battle for survival.

The dual timelines—Lena’s present-day investigation and Cambry’s final hours—are woven together brilliantly, keeping the suspense high and the twists coming. Lena is a tough, determined protagonist, and her bond with Cambry gives the story an emotional edge that balances out all the action.

While some moments stretch believability, the relentless tension and shocking revelations make this a gripping read. If you’re a fan of adrenaline-fueled thrillers with smart, resourceful characters, Hairpin Bridge delivers.

It was okay. I enjoyed Adams' first book far more than this one. This one felt a bit too unbelievable.

Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams is a suspenseful thriller that keeps you turning the pages, but it’s not without its flaws. The premise is intriguing—Lena sets out to uncover the truth behind her twin sister's supposed suicide on a remote bridge—but the execution leaves much to be desired.

The novel is fast-paced, and there are moments of genuine tension. However, the plot is riddled with loopholes that are hard to overlook. Certain twists felt forced, and some of the characters' decisions made me roll my eyes more than once. It’s as if the story relies too heavily on shock value rather than believable developments.

Adams tries to build a cat-and-mouse game between Lena and the antagonist, but some of the scenarios felt implausible, pulling me out of the story. While Hairpin Bridge isn’t without its moments of excitement, the numerous plot holes and eye-roll-worthy scenes make it hard to fully invest in the story. If you're looking for a quick, suspenseful read and don't mind suspending disbelief, it might be worth picking up, but don’t expect a seamless thriller.

I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this book. The general premise is interesting, but the back and forth between stories and possible stories was a little confusing. It definitely kept me reading, but I thought that it was a little drawn out towards the end and could have been shortened. Overall, I liked It, but I found It a little confusing and wordy.

There is always one scene in a Taylor Adams book that haunts me. In No Exit it was finger. In this one it's the knees. Damn good writing and an exciting book of non-stop action and suspense. Highly recommend - and if you're like me you will finish it in a day.

I've read a few of Taylor Adams' novels before, and while I enjoy a good thriller, I have to admit that his books tend to be a bit too intense for my taste. "Hairpin Bridge" was no exception—it's filled with gruesome and violent scenes that had me squirming in discomfort. Adams doesn't hold back when it comes to depicting the darker aspects of human nature, and while I appreciate his ability to immerse readers in the heart of the action, I found myself wishing for a bit more restraint.

Despite my reservations, I couldn't deny that "Hairpin Bridge" kept me hooked from beginning to end. The mystery surrounding Lena's twin sister's death and her determination to uncover the truth had me eagerly turning the pages, desperate to know what would happen next. The story is rife with deception and denial, making it difficult to separate fact from fiction.

The narrative unfolds through multiple perspectives, including Lena's imaginings of her sister's final moments, excerpts from Lena's blog, and glimpses into the thoughts of Officer Raycevic, the last person to see Camry alive. Each perspective adds depth to the story, but also raises questions about the reliability of the characters' accounts.

Overall, "Hairpin Bridge" is a gripping and suspenseful thriller that will leave readers on the edge of their seats. While it may be too graphic for some readers, those who enjoy a gritty and intense mystery will find plenty to enjoy. Thank you to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick read that definitely had me unable to put it down and I couldn’t stop turning the pages until I reached the end. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and there were some twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall this was suspenseful and quite the enjoyable ride!

The characters were a little flat for me. I did keep turning the pages though. I would try something else by the same author because I did enjoy the writing style and I read another title by him that I adored.

3.5 ⭐️ although I didn’t enjoy this one as much as No Exit or The Last Word, it definitely kept me guessing until the very end. I wasn't sure where the recording story line was going to go, and I had no clue that there would be so much involved with the sheriff, so that was quite a surprise. I won't hesitate to pick up more from Taylor Adams in the future.

I didn’t expect to love this book like I did. The characters had depth and you were able to connect to them. I like how it slowly unravelled and you didn’t know the full story to the end, I liked how morally grey it was. The ending was a perfect combination of surprising and not surprising. The surprises weren’t saved just for the end but present in the middle as well. The plot was a simple idea that the author made delightfully complex.
