After Lena's twin sister, Cambry, allegedly jumped off a 200 foot bridge to her death, Lena needs to see and picture the place of the tragic accident for herself. With the help of state trooper, Raycevic, Lena is taken through Cambry's final day; however, not everything is adding up as it seems.
As a big fan of No Exit, Hairpin Bridge was a must read for me. Although the author kept me interested and entertained throughout the book, it became a little confusing by flipping between past and present and between the different narrators. I found myself having to reread past chapters to remember what previously happened with Cambry/Lena. In my opinion, I do not think it is as good as No Exit but I would still recommend it to find out the mystery for yourself!
Thank you Net Galley for the e-ARC!
This was on wild ride! I cannot emphasize how much I enjoyed this book. I'm sorry I waited so long to read it. The twists and turns were amazing and I really had no idea it would end the way it did. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a really great thriller!
Hairpin Bridge starts really strong, but I found myself losing interest after about 30%. It felt drawn out. It took me a long time to finish it.
No Exit was a much, much stronger thriller, and this one felt like the bad first draft of a movie thriller, with some truly ridiculous and underdeveloped characterization.
A bit disappointed considering Adams wrote one of my favorite thrillers of all time, No Exit. This one felt rushed and sloppy by comparison.
Enjoyable book! Very suspenseful and was told in different perspectives. I would recommend to those readers that enjoy family drama, suspense, and thrillers.
I went Into this one just off of the authors previous book, No Exit, and while this one was good it wasn’t as fast paced as I’d hoped. Adams is a fantastic writer with a knack for action and overall this was an enjoyable read.
Hairpin Bridge has an interesting premise and started strong for me. Unfortunately though it lost me along the way. I found it to be a bit unrealistic with twists that weren't all that surprising.
I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.
After all the rave reviews for Taylor Adams No Exit I had high hopes for this one. Sadly I was let down and really struggled with this book after getting hooked in the beginning. My interest was lost with this story and the characters.
I really enjoyed this thriller. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I thought it was a great read.
Unfortunately, Hairpin Bridge was a big disappointment for me. It felt like the majority of the book was all one big scene that just wouldn't come to an end. The excessive description of each thing that took place was just too much for me and I found myself quite bored with this one. I listened to this one on audio...maybe if I had actually read it, I would have liked it better....but it doubt it.
I have read other books by Taylor Adams so I was excited to read Hairpin Bridge. And while the book started off strong and had me invested it began to fall apart and I just found myself wanting it to end. The story became very unrealistic and predictable. Not a terrible story, but it could have been so much more.
Hairpin Bridge ~ Taylor Adams - Psychological Thriller 🔪🔪🔪🔪
When Lena's estranged twin sister dies by "suicide" Lena heads out to interview the police officer who found Cambry's body. But the more Lena learns the more twisted the story becomes and who can Lena trust???
This twisted plotline will have you chasing your tail trying to solve the what really happened. Corporal Raymond Raycevic is all too keen to help Lena with the last hours of her sister's life. But the story isn't adding up. The 911 calls, the cell dead zone, the suicide text, Please Forgive Me. Lena's search for the truth turns into a fight for her own survival. I'm always fascinated by a story involving twins and their bonds and connections. I think this played out well in the story. It was a solid 4 stars for me.
Lena Nguyen heads to a small town in Montana to investigate the suicide of her twin sister, whom she just knows did not intentionally kill herself. The police say that Cambry Nguyen jumped 200 feet to her death off of Hairpin Bridge. Lena begins by interviewing the very patrolman who discovered her sister's body, Corporal Raymond Raycevic. She soon learns that his story isn't adding up. First, she learns he stopped Cambry for speeding a full hour before she leapt to her death. What happened in that time frame? As Lena uncovers more secrets, she soon learns that no one is who they say they are, and soon she is caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse, one in which Lena could end up exactly like her twin sister.
This book started out strong and then fell off around half-way through when things because a bit repetitive and boring. There was a little twist at the ending which I enjoyed, but a lot of the book was predictable. I did enjoy how most of it took place within a few hours time frame on Hairpin Bridge, hence the name of the book. There were some really tense moments and overall I would say this is an average thriller.
Special thank you to Netgalley and the published for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Gripping, couldn't put it down. This was one of those books I had to stay up late to finish because I was so invested in the main character's fate. Excellent thriller!
Way too violent, graphic, and predictable. The female protagonist felt very stereotypical. After reading No Exit and now this book, I have found that I do not enjoy reading books by Taylor Adams.
Lena’s identical twin sister Cambry killed herself (allegedly) by driving off the Hairpin Bridge in Montana. Lena travels to the scene to find out what happened.
She meets the local policeman (HP) Raymond Raycevic, mentioned in her sister’s last message to uncover what really happened. Only one way things can go from here.
Told from different POV - the reader has to decide which one is true
If you like lots of twists and turns then this is the book for you. Just too many for me.
3 Stars ⭐️
I loved No Exit by this author and was so excited to try another book by Taylor Adams. Unfortunately, this one didn't grab me and keep me turning the pages like No Exit. I'm not a fan of multiple narrators and I feel that this made it difficult to determine whose perspective was being told. Overall, the twists weren't as surprising as I had hoped.
This book had a lot of twists and turns and kept me guessing until the end. It was a bit unrealistic but I enjoyed it regardless.
