This book put me in a reading slump.

The first half was alright and I was enjoying seeing where the story was going.

And then the longest, dragged-out gun fight scene took place and I lost all interest. It went on for ages

This book was too long winded, slowing down the pace of the second half of the book. I was bored and started skimming through the story. Also, if several girls go missing over the years, are you seriously telling me that this would not pique the interest of the police? I found that so hard to believe.

I also didn't enjoy the gore. So beware if you're sensitive to violence and gore like me... It is not pretty.

Y’ALL! Taylor Adams writes a phenomenal thriller! Thrillers are one of my main genres, but very few leave my hands clammy and still wanting more. This was an intense read!
Lena’s flighty twin sister Cambry drove to a remote bridge and flung herself off. Lena wants to know WHY, as most people do after a suicide. She drives to the location and meets with the police officer that found Cambry’s body with questions, attempting to find some closure. As it initially seems, anyway. Lena does have questions, but she also has agenda.
I really can’t give away more than that. It would ruin the story, and as we all know, I think spoilers are lame.
BUT, I can tell you it has been one of my favorite thrillers this year. Do yourself a solid, and grab it on June 15. If you liked No Exit, you will not be disappointed.

Cambry and Lena, twins seemed to be more opposite than identical but when Cambry is found dead at the bottom of Suicide Bridge Lena, a blogger decides to head to Montana to get some answers. I love the strength that the author gives both girls, I love how she was looking for one truth but found many others! I really like how the character Raycevic was so versatile, is he good cop or bad son? I was a HUGE fan of No Exit and so naturally needed this book in my hands immediately! It did not disappoint!! And just like his previous book, Adams is serving us an isolated location ... creepy ... and a suspenseful story line that takes place over the course of just hours. So good!

Lena is on a quest to find out what happened to her twin sister Cambry. According to the police, Cambry, drove to a bridge and jumped. Lena doesn't believe the story that Ray Raycevic, the local cop has told. Lena believes that Ray killed her sister and she determined to confront him. Lena doesn't believe her sister killed herself because an hour Cambry died she attempted to call 911 sixteen times but unfortunately she had been in a dead zone. Lena also received one final text from her sister once her body was moved and no longer in a dead zone. It read: Please Forgive Me. I couldn’t live with it. Hopefully you can, Officer Raycevic. Lena will do anything she can to get to the truth. Even if it means endangering herself.

There were definitely a few heart pounding moments in this story which I loved. This author knows how to write scary characters that will keep you awake at night or give you nightmares. I will give him that.

That's kind of where it stops for me though. I think the author had a good idea but the delivery just wasn't great. There were many plot holes and parts that either didn't make sense, didn't need to be in the story at all or are so far-fetched that it leaves the reader saying "yeah right ok."

I found it hard to follow at times because a chapter would be labeled "Lena" but then be in the perspective of someone else.

The story is told three different ways. The first is real time where Lena is going to confront Ray about her sister. The second is Lena and her blog where she shares what she is going to do. She technically wrote this blog post before going to confront Ray because she's confronting him in the place her sister died and theres no internet service. The last is her Cambry's story which is told from Lena's perspective. Lena writes this story after her experience. So basically, the 3 different ways the story is coming together is all from Lena's perspective. I feel like this whole story would have been better had it been dual timelines from Lena's and Cambry's perspective.

There is a lot more I want to say about this book but I can't because it would contain to many spoilers. Again. Good story. Good Characters. Bad Delivery.

This book had more twists and turns than the road leading to Hairpin Bridge!

Lena's twin sister jumped to her death on Hairpin Bridge. Suicide. Or so the official report says. But Lena feels there's more to the story.

So she loads up her car (which was her sister's), her gun and her tape recorder and heads to meet Officer Raycevic to see if she can get to the bottom of things. We journey with her and man what a ride!

I was literally on the edge of my seat for at least half this book and never knew for sure what was coming next. I jumped a few times, gasped a few times, and it had all the suspense and thrill I love in a book like this.

This was a twisty thriller that kept me turning pages. Although some parts dragged a bit for me, it was pretty solid.

I was very excited to be given the chance to read Hairpin Bridge early as I loved his previous book, No Exit. While this was a quick read and I finished it in a day and a half, I was left wanting more. I kept waiting for the surprise twist within the story and at the end, but it never came. The way the author spins the story was well done, but I kept expecting more. I enjoyed the book, but I guessed the ending halfway through.

Fans of No Exit (me!!!),! This fantastic author Taylor Adams has brought us another amazing story which is just as great. WOW, WOW, WOW. I absolutely loved this book. It completely blew my mind and I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I finished reading it! I devoured this in one sitting… Magnificent.

This book, everyone, is a masterpiece!

It was a wild ride. You get sucked into the plot and the characters easily, gripping for clues. Although the twists were predictable, it was still a fun read.

This is my first time reading this author and I am pretty sure I'll read anything and everything written by them.

No Exit was a really fun read, and I was happy to see Hairpin Bridge available for request. I loved the synopsis and as publication is fast approaching, I quickly dove in.

When Lena Nguyen's estranged twin sister Cambry allegedly commits suicide on a semi-infamous bridge, Lena can't accept reality. Examining the evidence and reports, she is convinced that her sister was murdered, and she believes that the man who murdered her was the same officer who found her body: Ray Raycevic. Determined to find the truth, she comes up with a plan to meet Ray at the same bridge. She will stop at nothing to learn what really happened to her sister that night, and her quest quickly turns into a fight for her own life.

I enjoyed this book.

Lena's voice was strong, both in its execution and authenticity. I appreciated her thorough brainstorming and preparedness. As a way to deal with her grief, I loved her outlet with the blog entries and thought the switch from high-tension present to the days leading up to it her through her reflection worked really well to keep the pace moving.

And it moves. What I love about Adams' writing is once it picks up steam, it doesn't let up. Most of this story is taut, tense, and nail-bitingly gritty. I felt the atmospheric shift between Ray and Lena, the solitude of the bridge, the distrust.

There are twists, turns, and unreliable narrators to boot, and if you're in the mood for a book that will keep you on your toes, this one is definitely for you. There were a few times when I wasn't thrilled about the narrative choice to put Cambry front-and-center in the conflict, I thought it fit with Lena's character and brought an underlying portrayal of grief and desperation to an emotionally-charged situation.

Overall, Hairpin Bridge is a gripping story about how far we go for the truth and to protect the ones we love.

Provocative, but in the end it makes sense. Lena wants to find out what really happened to her twin sister, and heads to the place where her sister’s body was found. She found this officer and the fire is so burning. Psychological drama is full of twists and turns. Maybe too repetitive because Lena writes a blog and at the same time tries to understand what her last hours of life were like. But I really like the ending. I was quite confused at first, but the more the story went on better it was.

Wow ladies and gentlemen! This is definitely one that shouldn't be missed! I enjoyed this one equally as much as No Exit surprisingly. It's fast paced and in the first few chapters I was afraid I was going to be disappointed, but it gets so much better and it was incredibly difficult to put down! There are so much twists to this novel and I was never sure when we were getting the truth and what the main character was getting up to. This is definitely going to be a favorite for this year and I can't wait to get my hands on a hard copy! This thriller is very unique, fast paced and twisty - you won't be disappointed!

This book does not disappoint!! Immediately you are sucked into the story and the characters. This was my first introduction to Taylor Adams and I am immediately picking up the first book by this author. The writing style is so easy to devour with great description of the scenery. This is very much a story you want to go in knowing nothing. If you're looking for a thriller that has you immersed in the plot, characters, and scenery, definitely pick this one up on June 15th. This novel does have a creepy element to it with the history of the bridge so if that is something that grips you, read this as well. I love the main characters and suspense of this novel. So this book was ALMOST perfect . The story was absolutely gripping though . But just short of perfect . Let me explain .

Firt off.. I actually took notes. During this read. Because I needed to write my thoughts down !
This book was very gripping , however unbelievable.. but then again .. isnt that what books are for? To escape into an unbelievable reality . So I won't deduct points .
What I did deduct my one star for what the difficulty to follow the story. The back and forth between the characters had me backtracking and re reading a few pages , because . . What the hell is going on ! This was a huge complaint for me . And maybe I'm one in a million to have this issue? But it made the story harder to follow than it already is !
That being said , I couldn't decide what it was the author wanted me to believe. And I think that is the genius of the writing . I was so confused in who I wanted to believe. Again - the point ! The back and forth . You form an opinion, than "BAM" another twist to throw you off . This book made me realize .. I'm not detective material AT ALL lol .

Near the end I felt the author may have tried to wrap things up to fast.. yet not fast enough.. make sense ? So it felt like some things were rushed .. but also, there was at least 5 times I thought I was reading the ending. Only to get another chapter .
The whole shoot out scene lost my attention . For a good chapter or two, I was ready for this book to end . . But then . Calm.. more twists? 6 endings 😆
And alot of vulgar descriptions of women . Namely, larger women .. I'm not going to deduct anymore stars . Because as much as this bothered me personally .. its not a deductable offense in my eyes . It honestly really just drove the nail in the coffin . "Ray" hated his " dairy cow of a wife" . I know exactly how he felt toward her thanks to these descriptive choices .

I'll admit I went into this one with some trepidation. It seemed to be receiving mixed reviews and so I was concerned I would not love it. I don't like to read too many reviews before I start a book, but this was popping up on my feed as all over the map. I think possibly some of the mixed reviews come from the high expectations that come after reading No Exit. I read No Exit at a difficult point in my life and it was exactly the thriller I needed to get absorbed and lost in. I think is was a thriller that wow'd many readers.

While admittedly, out of the two books, I enjoyed No Exit more, this still had me completely absorbed and flying through the pages. It was as intense as I would expect a Taylor Adams book to be! I truly enjoyed this and was satisfied by the entire tale. It is a wild ride that you need to buckle-up for. I was completely engaged in this read and I think if you like intense and thoroughly entertaining reads, this will be just as exciting of a read for you.

My complaint is that I do not know if I loved the constant switching of POV. I wish we just stayed with a select group of characters. That said, I can see how these multiple-POVs lead to some thrilling moments in the book.

I would argue that this is a popcorn thriller and I mean that in the best possible way. If you enjoy popcorn movies, this can be compared to any such action/thriller flick.

Well, this was fun.

Not my first time reading the author and it won’t be my last. He’s just a blast.

It’s an over-the-top adrenaline rush of a book. You know…the kind of book where it ramps up into one impossible situation on top of another and another and another…until you realize you haven’t actually been breathing for a page or two.

There are times – many times – when you’ll have to forget about logic, but you won’t care. You’ll just be so into Lean and some girl power fury.

Fast, fun, and I want more.

What a weird book. It basically starts with telling the reader the end of the story, and then the next 300 pages are just explaining how it got to that ending.

As I read, I thought I had a pretty good idea what the ending would be. I was wrong. And I’m actually disappointed that I was wrong because while my idea was predictable, the actual ending was... rough. Honestly, the further I got into the book, the more bizarre the storyline just seemed to get.

I will say that it kept my interest enough to make me want to keep reading, but I would not say that I enjoyed it.

Corporal Raycevic meets Lena to discuss the details surrounding Cambry’s jump, and Lena will stop at NOTHING to uncover the full truth.

A lot of action all packed in to just a matter of hours! I also really appreciated learning some of Lena and Cambry’s backstory. Definitely provided insight into the characters.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hairpin Bridge and finished it in one sitting. The story unfolds over a few hours as Lena Nguyen tries to uncover the truth surrounding her estranged twin sister Cambry’s death. Cambry Nguyen’s death is ruled a suicide, but there are many things that just don’t add up, including a number of calls to 911 before her death. The book chapters are told in an alternating timeline format, one happening in “real time” as Lena searches for answers, and the other told by Lena as a way of guessing what she believes happened during her sisters final moments. This format took me a little while to get use to but once the pieces of the story began to fall into place I quite enjoyed it. This is definitely a thrill ride of a book, full of high action car chases and shoot outs. My only issue with this novel was some of the villains dialogue seemed a bit too basic “bad guy” to me and pulled me out of the story at times. As with most thrillers, there is some suspension of disbelief necessary to fully enjoy the story, but this was definitely a fun ride with a strong ending.
