This book just wasn’t for me. While it had a very interesting premise, I just didn’t love the execution.
The plot revolves around Lena investigating the death of her sister Cambry She goes up to the bridge where her sister died with a cop that she distrusts. This book just made me feel icky. The bad guy/villain was very obvious the plot revolves around how the events happened. I prefer my mysteries and thrillers to have more twists and unknown plot points. Lots of unnecessary violence. The alternate POV/timelines were a bit confusing. The story alternates between Lena’s present, her blog detailing what she is investigating and Cambry’s story. The question about Cambry’s story though was it really what happened or what Lena thought happened.??Way too many car chases.

I loved this book so much. Lena is such a force of nature. She's sharp and just paranoid enough to get things done. I really enjoyed how the story was told through her blog, her book, and also from her and Ray's points of views. The plot twists kept coming and there was never a dull moment. Honestly such a great read.

Having enjoyed No Exit, my expectations were that this would be similarly thrilling. Being a fan of spectacular car chases, I loved the ones in this book. It reminded me of the 1971 movie 'Duel' with Dennis Weaver. That may be before most of your times but if you've never seen it and like classic thrillers, it's definitely worth watching. This book had the same monster level suspense, internal dialogue and suspicion. I could literally see this becoming a hit movie, Cambry in Dennis Weaver's spot sweating it out.

Right off the bat, I don't like that Taylor Adams describes Corporal Raycevic as "ape-like" and "a gorilla-like man" and Lena as a "doll-like Vietnamese girl". Regardless of the characters race and despite the fact that Ray's being painted as a hulking villain, different words could be used here so that the resulting description wouldn't be so off-putting. For the sake of the book, change those few descriptions please. Despite all this I actually enjoyed the mystery and the twists. I'd rate it higher but for the racial missteps.

This is a perfect beach book - quick chapters - tension - thrills and surprises! I am a big fan of No Exit and was elated when Joffe Books provided a copy for me to read before publication.

I think my expectations were too high - always comparing it to No Exit, naturally. I thought it was a bit repetitive and yet too rushed and cleaned up at the end.

I’d highly recommend this for the summer - fun and easy and clever - all things that make for an awesome beach read!

I loved this one. Very fast paced, had me turning pages as I tore through it – I had to see how it would end. The characters were well rounded and the narrative felt believable. Gave me chills. Solid five

Convinced her sisters death was not a suicide, Lena ventured out to meet the cop who found her twin sisters body on the bridge they say she jumped from, to find out the true story. Armed with an idea to get the truth, Lena will stop at nothing to have Ray confess to the murder.

Adams writes action movies. This was incredibly fast paced, almost over the top with its action, and hard to put down. There was always so much going on, so much to keep me interested in. However, there was something missing for me as well. Without spoiling, I just felt something lacklustre about the ending.

I’m giving this book a 3 star as the middle of the packs or now, because I really don’t know where it lies for me.

I have the unpopular opinion here. This book did not do it for me. I did not finish. I was intrigued by the premise, but the writing was what got me. The dialogue and actions seemed so unbelievable to me.

Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams starts with a bang and doesn't let up until the last line. This twisty thriller is compulsively readable, I could NOT put it down. It begins with Cambry Nguyen's twin sister Lena, traveling to the spot of her alleged suicide on Hairpin Bridge to determine what really happened that day. While it presents as a story of revenge and righting wrongs, it is very much about a sister's love, grief and regrets. The deep complexity of loyalty to family and dealing with the ghosts of our past is very present throughout. Overall, a quick read with a satisfying ending. Thank you Netgalley for this advance "read now" version on Kindle.

This was a solid thriller, nothing jaw-dropping or shocking. I really enjoyed the super tense conversations before all the action started. There’s this anticipation and you know they’re just lying to each other and it’s like they know it too and it’s so tense! I read it in a day because I just had to know what happened. But it did take a while to get there. This story mostly takes place within a few hours all at the same location. There’s a lot of action but it’s also very repetitive. I didn’t find the twists too twisty or surprising... of course there was some graphic disturbing content.
I haven’t read No Exit, so I can’t make a comparison there. But this one reads like a 2000’s slasher movie. Recommended if you’re in the mood for that! They definitely have their place!

Just like her previous book, No Exit, Taylor Adams has written a heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat thriller. The narrator’s sister has committed suicide by jumping off Hairpin Bridge. I live for fast-paced, action-filled, suspenseful thrillers! So when I found out that the author of No Exit was coming out with a new book, I just had to get a copy of it.

Prepare for an intense, no-holds-barred, thrill ride. The story rotates from Cambry’s point of view(the last hour she is alive), Lena’s point of view in the present, and Lena’s blog posts she wrote before going to meet Officer Ray on Hairpin Bridge. Lena goes into the meet up distrustful of the officer. She believes that her sister did not commit suicide and instead something more sinister happened to her.

Without giving anything away, the only issue I had with the book was that I felt like some of the action parts were a little too repetitive. But otherwise, Hairpin Bridge kept me fully engrossed throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the rollercoaster ride that is, Hairpin Bridge. And wow, that ending was perfect and very satisfying. This book would be absolutely perfect to add to your summer reading!

This book starts out rather slowly and it seems to get lost in places. However, it does pick up and turns out to be very good.

There are many twists and turns in the novel and the ending will surprise any reader. It is both exciting and terrifying. Well done, Mr. Adams!

It has been three moths since Lena's wandering sister, Cambry, fell from a bridge in Montana. It is called Hairpin Bridge – and also Suicide Bridge. Did she really fall? Lena sets out to journey to the place and speak to the deputy who found her body. The death was ruled a suicide. Was it?

Lena is driving Cambry's car and has not touched a thing inside the car, not even the half full drink in the cupholder. I found this to be rather creepy.

She gets bad vibes from the deputy named Ray, but she won't let go of her investigation. What she finds out is horrifying.

The ending of the book is terrifying, a huge surprise and very exciting.

I didn't care for this book as much as one of this author's previous book that I read. It started out so poorly that I almost gave up. Lena's attempt to write out Cambry story from Cambry's point of view was disconcerting as well. I didn't really like Lena as a character. While brave, I thought she was a little – well...dumb. Especially the not cleaning the car out. That really turned me off. Bleh.

I was super excited to read this after reading her previous novel. However, this novel didn't hold my interest. Lena and Cambry are twins. Cbry falls to her death off of a bridge in Montana and Lena drives to discover the truth. She meets with the cop that discovered Cambry's body and feom.there the story develops.

Wow this was exactly what I needed right now. I’ve felt slumpy for a while and I wanted something to jumpstart my reading again, so what better than a captivating thriller that will get your heart racing? I just completely tore through Hairpin Bridge, and I expect a lot of people will be doing the same.

Taylor Adams’ sure does seem to love an isolated location. Outside of Missoula, Montana stands a bridge seemingly disconnected from most of civilization. And even before Lena’s sister Cambry’s body was discovered just over the edge, it had already developed a reputation for mysterious suicides. Lena has been preparing for months, channeling her grief into her own investigation of her twin sister’s death, and is finally ready to confront the man she thinks is responsible.

I loved this book. It was so, I’m not sure the way to describe it—I guess contained? Most of it takes place on or near this bridge, driving or nearby their cars, on the the same stretch of highway. There’s remarkably few characters, even compared to the author’s last book No Exit, which had five people snowed in at a convenience store. Speaking of that one, I did not like it nearly as much as Hairpin Bridge. The first half was brilliant but a lot of the plot and character arcs fell apart in the second half for me, so I was a little bit nervous the same thing would happen this time around too.

Luckily I think my worrying was mostly unnecessary. The pacing was break-neck, as in, it never seemed to really let up. Literally every moment felt like a stand-off (and yes some parts were literally stand-offs, but still!). After reading both books, what I think Adams does best in his writing is that he lets the reader think they’ve figured it out relatively early on. But his books are structured in such a way that even if you’re able to catch one of the balls he’s tossed up, there’s still a dozen more in the air at any given time. The remoteness of the location and cast probably should have been limiting, but it often left me doubting my own assumptions about the characters and their motivations.

I think one of the most interesting parts of this book is the way it’s structured. The story is almost entirely narrated by the protagonist, Lena, but through three different mediums. One is the typical third person narrative where we’re following Lena in real time. Another is a blog post she’s writing just a day before embarking on her journey to Montana to try to find and confront Cambry’s killer. And then the third is a book that Lena is writing about Cambry, and even at times directly to her departed sister. I won’t get too into it, but seeing the ways some of these narrations either matchup or clash with one another really helped shade in the relationship between the Nguyen sisters for me.

This is my favorite thriller so far this year. It had everything I wanted and more. Hairpin Bridge is a cool blend of intense action and twisting psychology that I think a lot of people will be into. Consider me a Taylor Adams convert, even he’s inexplicably being blurbed by AJ Finn.

To start this, I might be in the minority with that -I have not read Taylor Adam's other book "No Exit". I own it and intend to read it, but I just haven't gotten there yet like some of the other hundred books on my shelf. All of that to say, unlike some readers, I came into this book with no expectations.

On to the good stuff - I started off really liking this book. I enjoyed the plot and the writing style, alternating POVs, and even the blog post. It is suspenseful and it kept me interested for most of the book. However, I did lose interest in the action scenes. I can't say if it was because they were so drawn out and repetitive or if it's just because action scenes arent really my thing. The ending was a little chaotic and I felt like it was almost trying too hard but overall, I liked how things were wrapped up.

There is no big shocking plot twist at the end, so if that is what you enjoy when reading thrillers, this isn't it. BUT, if you want something fast-paced and an easy read, this is right up your alley. Overall, I enjoyed this book, I'm happy I read it, and definitely will move "No Exit" up on my TBR.

I really liked No Exit so had high hopes for this one. It was a quick read, told from three different viewpoints. It was entertaining, but not riveting. The twists fell flat and some you saw coming. I’m really not a fan of books written about twins, and had I know that was the case here I wouldn’t have bothered I find them to be cliché and rather boring. That was seen throughout this book as well.

I didn’t find this book to be much of a thriller, rather a domestic drama or revenge book. We follow the story of Cambry’s death that her twin, Lena knows wasn’t a suicide. Lena travels to where her sister has supposedly committed suicide and seeks to learn the real truth.

The book is one dimensional and lacks any depth. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.

I’ve been trying (and failing) to win this book on Goodreads for months, and when I saw it as a Read Now on Netgalley, I had to have it! I read No Exit earlier this year and loved it, so I knew I’d enjoy this story as well.

Well, I wasn’t disappointed! With so many different viewpoints and plenty of action to go around, Hairpin Bridge will leave you breathless. I felt like I was there amongst the action the whole time, and that ending was a real tear jerker.

Cambry, Lena’s twin, committed suicide in the middle of nowhere Montana, but Lena isn’t buying it. Determined to bring justice to her sister’s killer, she heads out to Hairpin Bridge in her sister’s Toyota Corolla no less to confront the state trooper she feels is to blame. Is she right, is she wrong? The story weaves in and out in such a way that will have you wondering what’s truth and what’s fiction.

While I didn’t feel completely surprised by the ending, mainly because of the information given throughout the story, the epilogue had me in tears. Hairpin Bridge is a fast paced thriller with action, gore, murder, and revenge, all amid an impending forest fire. You’ll find yourself both rooting for Lena and wondering if, maybe, just maybe, she needs to be a little nicer to Raycevic.

Taylor Adams hit this one out of the park on the suspense scale. I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, I couldn’t put it down. It was atmospheric, very well detailed & cinematic to read.

Our story is about twins, who are somewhat estranged, when one of the twins dies suddenly, from an alleged suicide off of a “haunted” rundown bridge. All the while, there is a forest fire raging in the distance. I loved that I couldn’t decide who or what to believe while I was reading this, it made it all such a mystery to read.

Get your hands on this June 15, trust me, you’ll be thinking about this one nonstop, even after you finish it! I can’t wait to see more from this author!

The book No Exit by this same author stuck with me for a while after reading it, just because some of it had felt so disturbing. I was expecting more from Hairpin Bridge, and while I liked it overall, it felt a bit repetitive while also being unbelievable in the middle. I also didn't like that it felt more like the story was being told to me (especially during scenes from the past) instead of it playing out naturally, if that makes sense.

This one is one of the most emotional rollercoasters ever! Lena seeks revenge for her twin sister Cambry, but no one could've predicted this journey. There were so many twists I swear I have whiplash. This one was a little bit darker than I expected, but it lended itself to the story. Adams' is a true master of suspense. Definitely recommend.
