While this wasn’t my fav spite I’d the two by this author, still kept me on my feet till the very end. I enjoyed the twists and the story telling just couldn’t fully connect.

I really loved No Exit by Taylor Adams so when I saw Hairpin Bridge I had to give it a go! I found it hard to know who I was reading about when it changed POV. It just felt really long and I didn't have fun reading it.

After her twin sister’s death, Lena Nguyen travels to Magma Springs, Montana, where Cambry died. Lena is determined to reconstruct her sister's movements and prove that Cambry's death was not a suicide. Law enforcement officer Raymond Raycevic holds the answers, in Lena's opinion, and she will stop at nothing to find out the truth. Will the answers be given on Hairpin Bridge, 200 feet above where her sister died?

I struggled to finish this book, as the dual perspective format ruined the flow for me. Bouncing back and forth between the present and the past, Hairpin Bridge was a search for answers that took such a circuitous route that I ultimately lost the connection. Lena had her suspicions, yet she took chances that most people would not. The plot was not all that believable, especially regarding the situations that happened in the past. If the author gave more of a look into the desolate setting, some of the story would have made more sense. One of my biggest issues with the book was that the author made it too obvious that something was amiss regarding the police officer, so the ending came as no surprise. Overall, I wanted to like the novel, but it is not one I would recommend to others.

Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review Hairpin Bridge was entirely my own.

No Exit is one of my all time favorite thrillers so I was really looking forward to this one! Although nothing can compare to No Exit, this was a really great thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat!

For starters who doesnt love a badass woman lead?
lena Nguyen's twin sister supposedly commited suicide by jumping off a bridge but Lena doesnt buy it so she heads to "Hairpin Bridge" and meets up with Officer Raycevic to figure out exactly what happened to her sister.
The entire book takes placein the space of a day and when i tell you that a lot happenedin that day i am not exxagerating. This was an action packed affair. There were gun fights, car chases, blood and gore. Some over the top but it made for a very entertaining read. The perspective changes from what is presently happening, to Lena's blog post, to Lena's book about what actually happens to her sister. this format kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat. feeding me crumbs until i get to the pie. Masterful!

Having loved No Exit, I was excited to read Taylor Adams' latest release, Hairpin Bridge. Cambry Nguyen committed suicide by jumping from Hairpin Bridge. Or did she? As identical twin sister Lena goes back to meet the police officer who found Cambry's body, she struggles to accept how Cambry died and is on a quest for the truth.

I really wanted to love this book and I did up to about the 40% mark. It was fast moving and exciting. The back and forth storyline between Cambry and Lena made for tense and action packed reading.

However after this point I skim read as it became dragged out and a bit repetitive. I did finish it but it was a struggle as I became disinterested in finding out what really happened. 3/5*

I love Taylor Adams books, so I knew this would be a must read! Hairpin Bridge did not disappoint! It kept me guessing and waiting to see what happened next.

I highly recommend for anyone who likes horror novels and physiological thrillers.

I’m so disappointed with this one! No Exit is my favorite thriller of all time.

While it was written to be fast paced, it felt like it dragged on forever with the plot being the same night and on the bridge the whole time. I would’ve much rather this story have played off the ghosts of the bridge and time travel than the actual plot, it was rather boring. Nothing came as a surprise and parts that were written to be scary (the snake?) almost made me laugh.

I love when a story focuses on twins or sisters, but I really didn’t care for the sister dynamic in this one. I didn’t feel any type of emotional pull.

Overall, I think Taylor Adams would do very well writing action movie scripts since he writes so vividly! But I’m not sure the plot played out in a way that was entertaining enough in book form.

Trigger warnings: suicide, gore, child abuse, excessive language.

Thanks to #NetGalley, #JoffeBooks, and #Taylor Adams for the ARC of #HairpinBridge.

I read #NoExit by #TaylorAdams in 2020 and fell in love with his storytelling ability and the way he knows how to capture you and get you to go all in. He has quickly climbed my list of favorite authors.

With that being said, #HairpinBridge was not a disappointment in the least. Cambry and Lena are twins that have had their issues in the past. While they were not close, Cambry still loved her twin and when she finds out that she has met with an untimely death Cambry is quick to go to where Lena was last seen alive.

Cambry is told that Lena jumped to her death from a bridge, but why are there still so many questions? Cambry quickly gets in over her head and has no one to trust.

Who did it and why? Or did Lena really feel that her life was that hopeless? The twists, turns, and hairpin turns will lead you on the craziest ride you've had in awhile.

Pick up a copy of Hairpin Bridge today and get ready for that road trip you've been waiting for. You can get a copy from any of your favorite book retailers now!

Fast pasted, edge of your seat ride. This was an awesome thriller with twists and turns that definitely caught me off guard and kept me guessing and questioning. I loved the unique setting and the situations the main character was in that you would surely think she wouldn't get out of. I loved how unrelenting and tenacious the main character was and thoroughly enjoyed how the villains kept you guessing in regards to their innocence and intentions, good or bad. Great novel.

Compulsive, fast paced I couldn’t put this down.
Lena thought she knew her sister. She was shocked when her sister got in the car drove to a remote bride and jumped to her death.
.
Lena is convinced it’s murdered she drives to the bridge with a recorder and a mission. She interviews the patrolman who found her sister and catches him in a lie. She doesn’t expect to put her own life in jeopardy. Uncovering her sisters truth may lead to her death.

Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams

⚠️ Boy does this author like to write crazy stories involving women and cars!

⚠️ I will start by noting that this book has some issues in my opinion. There are some confusing storylines (too many unreliable narrators), some extremely convenient situations, and more than a few ridiculous occurrences. Do I care? No! Because this was an explosive read with a bad*ss heroine who took care of business!

⚠️ Once the action started it didn’t stop! I read this in one sitting!

⚠️ If this book doesn’t end up on the big screen, I’ll be shocked.

⚠️ Not all enjoyable reads have to be great literature or have an epic plot. Sometimes it is simply fun to race through an exciting/claustrophobic/tense situation, well beyond anything I’d ever experience in real life (hopefully), and get through it to a satisfying conclusion. This author does that well… at least for me. I will continue reading his books!

Thank you @NetGalley and Joffe Books for an eARC of this book, which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Unfortunately, this book was just not for me. I had a hard time focusing while reading this book and found it didn't hold my attention. While I love unreliable characters, I was confused (and then very frustrated) by Officer Raycevic. I did like the plot twist at the end, but it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the book.

Hairpin Bridge is a twisted thriller revolving around Lena Nguyen as she seeks out what happened to her twin sister, Cambry. The story is told from both sisters' POVs. When Lena arrives in Missoula, MT she meets with the officer who pulled over her sister the night of her disappearance and who later found her body at Hairpin Bridge. Things about Cambry's "suicide" just don't make sense and Lena is willing to do what it takes to uncover the truth. While the book was somewhat hard to follow at times, it is a full throttle, intense read full of action.

I LOVED No Exit by this author so I had extremely high expectations and it was overall a pretty good read.

I didn’t love the main character and I wasn’t totally sold on the memories or blog posts from the victim. BUT I did love the mystery, the small town setting, so much imagery!

I gave it 4 stars!

this started off so strong and i was really invested! i really enjoyed this authors previous book No Exit, so i had high hopes. but the way this story was told just did not work for me at all, there is so much action in this book, which should’ve been fun, but after a while it got so repetitive and boring.
