Love this precious of the dating playbook as I LOVE sports romance!!! Can’t wait to read the rest of the chapters asap!
The Dating Playbook" by Farrah Rochon
⭐⭐⭐
As someone who enjoys contemporary romance, I was eager to dive into "The Dating Playbook" by Farrah Rochon. The story had a creative and intriguing premise, with well-developed characters and an engaging plot. However, despite its strengths, I found it difficult to fully connect with the storyline. While the chemistry between the characters was palpable and the writing was lively, the book just didn’t resonate with me on a deeper level. I still appreciate the creativity and effort that went into this book, and I’m sure many readers will find it delightful. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me, but I still give it three stars for its originality and charm.
I wanted to like this one but it just fell a little flat for me. The heroine had some pretty big things going on with her family that seemed to have bigger reactions than what was shown to us as the reader. The romance also just didn't hit it for me. I still plan to finish out the series so hopefully this one was just not for me.
I’m ready for more of Farrah Rochon’s boyfriend project series. Taylor is probably the friend whose story I’m most interested in.
This'll probably be my least favorite in the trilogy - by nature, it just has more body talk than I'm comfortable with, I'm fairly anti-NFL, and there's also more glorification of the military than I like. The chemistry between Taylor and Jamar is great, though, and I loved seeing him support her in both her business and in her journey to getting a diagnosis for her learning disability.
Farrah Rochon is a fun author! I really like her books so far! I need the rest of this story so I've already ordered my own copy. Thanks!
Enjoyed the first 4 chapters and look forward to seeing where this book goes. Farrah writes fun and lovable romance stories that I always enjoy picking up.
The Dating Playbook preview was a fun read! It's the second book in a trilogy so I'm looking forward to reading the full book and the next one in the series.
Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of sports romances but I can definitely be persuaded! And this seems to be good so far. I like that Taylor is a no-nonsense woman and Jamar is pretty straightforward. I do wish that we got to see a bit of how the fake dating begins. Maybe it couldn't work out cause it happens a lot later in the story? I enjoyed their banter and, although the premise does seem a tad far fetched, I didn't particularly care! I'm intrigued enough to consider picking this up sometime in the future.
I know I"m late to getting to this ARC, so I've actually read the full book, not just these first 4 chapters. Let me tell you, I loved it. In the first book of this series, The Boyfriend Project, we follow Samiah. This book focuses on one of Samiah's friends, Taylor. Taylor is a personal trainer, though she doesn't have her license and is struggling to make ends meet. When a former NFL player hires her to help him try to get back into the league, she can't say no to the offer of an insane amount of money! But, we know how these books go... Is a good workout the only thing these two are going to gain from this experience?
This short preview is such a good introduction to these characters! I love the banter, the plot, and the friendship between the ladies. It is too soon for me to have a solidified stance, but I am really interested in seeing where the rest of the book leads!
Really enjoyed this book and these characters. I feel like the fake dating trope is one of my favorites (if done correctly of course) I think this book and these characters so far have the opportunity to be one of those books where the author writes this trope so well. I can't wait to finish reading this story!
Missed reading this one in time. I hears some pretty amazing things about this book and author so do plan to borrow from library and read.
I enjoyed Taylor's story in the preview. I get a sense of who she is and what is wants for her career. You can tell she loves helping people with their fitness goals. I love that this trilogy revolves around three women truly supporting each other in every aspect. I can't wait to get my hands on the whole book!
It was also interesting to read a short part of the book about Georgetown and Austin. After living in Texas (not far from Georgetown) for a few years I knew exactly where the characters were. Things like this make the book more fun to read.
i wanted to like it, but.... I didn't . Need more chapters to really get a feel I think it has the potential to be a cute fake dating romance troup but will need to read the entire book to be sure.
Really enjoyed these characters and I can’t wait to read more about them. I loved the plot so far. I wish I had more to read.
Really good opening chapters! Loved the introduction to the characters. I'm very intrigued by the story and where it's going to go.
[PREVIEW READ]
This one doesn’t follow the same character as the first book and can be read as a stand-alone. I liked the first few chapters as it was easy to read but still too soon for me to have a decisive opinion on this one. Nonetheless, very excited to continue to complete this novel!
I read the first book in this series - The Boyfriend Project - and enjoyed it. My favorite part of the first book was the girls’ found friendship. I’m so happy to get more of these three girls!!! I really hope that the rest of the book has more of their friendship, and I’m excited to see what happens with Jamar.
