I want more!! The brief taste of Jamar was not nearly enough, especially when re-reading the summary. I want to see how the two tackle (hehe get it?) being a "couple". I love that Taylor is an independent woman trying to make herself successful about something she's passionate in and isn't too quick to trust. I also love the friendship that the three ladies have formed because of a guy they all dated. I absolutely can't wait to read the rest of this book!!
If I hadn't already pre-ordered The Dating Playbook, this preview would have convinced me to do it as soon as possible. These four chapters showed the strong friendship that continues between three women who meet in the most unlikely, but viral circumstances. And I'm excited that I get to read more and get to know Taylor.
I loved how Jamar Dixon is introduced and how Taylor is immediate skeptical of him (as she has reason to be), but as a reader, you know that you're going to fall for him fast.
The Dating Playbook comes out in less that 2 weeks and I'm ready for it. If it's as good as The Boyfriend Project, then I know that I'm going to love it!
I enjoyed the preview for this book and have high hopes for the full novel, which I have requested. Sports romances are a favorite so I'm looking forward to reading the whole thing.
I enjoyed the The Boyfriend Project and was looking forward to the other women's books. I didn't realize Taylor's book was releasing soon so I am thrilled that I got to read this sampler as I am now really looking forward to it. You immediately empathize with Taylor and her situation is relatable. I am already rooting for her four chapters in. I've made a note to purchase this once it is out as I am so looking forward to continue the story.
The preview was great! I can’t wait to get my hands on the whole book in a few weeks. Taylor is a personal trainer looking for her break through and Jamar, well we don’t know what his deal is yet but I’m excited to see. I also love the friendship from the trio of ladies.
The first four chapters of this book instantly get you invested in the story! Taylor is stressed financially, which, let’s be honest, everyone can relate to on some level, and just so happens to find a super hot football player at one of her park workouts who wants to hire her to train him one-on-one?! Yes, absolutely. The first four chapters really lay the groundwork for this, and set the scene and got me really excited to continue reading on. I literally cannot wait for this. I already know it’s going to be such a great cute romance!
Farrah Rochons, The Dating Playbook serves as her second book in a series or easilly a stand alone. I did not read the first book, The Boyfriend Project. However after reading only the first 4 chapters of this book I can't wait to put both books on my TBR list. Farrahs series follows three women who create an unlikely friendship after realizing they were all dating the same guy. This book is about Taylor more specifically and her struggle to find her place in the world. While the other two ladies in the trio seemingly have their lives and finances in order, Taylor can hardly pay rent. Cue mr hot fit footballer Jamar Dixon. Jamar is looking for a personal trainer to get himself ready, to enter back into football after an injury that knocked him off his thrown. This could be the break that Taylor needs, his fee may help pay off her debts and working with him may help her pay for school. But will their professional relationship stay professional? With the already boiling chemistry between them I dare say it will not.
Thank you to Netgalley for my ARC of The Dating Playbook in exchange for my honest oppinion.
This is my third book preview and I can say that they're really helpful when it comes to getting an idea to what to expect from the story and the writing style of the author. I believe the story coming after these four chapters is going to be really something!
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a preview of The Dating Playbook in exchange for my honest review!
I really enjoy reading these previews because they give me a good idea of the writing style of the author as well as the story, and usually catch my attention to the point where I can't wait to read the whole book! I enjoyed this preview and think that this will be an interesting story to read.
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a preview of The Dating Playbook in exchange for my honest review!
Love this one and can't wait to read the whole thing. So excited for The Dating Playbook. Loved the first book too. The excerpts are never enough they always leave me wanting more.
This sampler left little to be desired for wanting to read the full book. The first few chapters just weren’t interesting enough for me to say “yep, I definitely will read this.” It might have some promise but for now it’s a miss for me, unfortunately
This is a great continuation of the trio that was burned in the first book! I can't wait to read the third book!
I received the first 4 chapters of “The Dating Playbook” via Netgalley. Faking dating is one of my favorite book to read.
This is Taylor Powell who is a personal training who we met in “The Boyfriend Project” along with her best friends Samiah and London. Jamar Dixon is a former NFL player and he wants back into the NFL. Taylor’s bills are billing up and she needs clients. Jamar wants Taylor to train him and doesn’t want anyone to know.
From the first 4 chapters that I have read I really enjoyed. Looking for forward to reading the remaining chapters.
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read the first 4 preview chapters.
Farrah Rochon is a queen of writing romcoms. And this is another diverse release by her.
The first four chapters are very heartfelt, you can feel yourself smiling through all of them. The writing style is very engaging and easy to read, you cannot put the book down.
The friendship between Taylor, Samiah, and London is just out of this world. They are always there for each other, and the last two even help Taylor financially. However, she still wants to be independent, that’s when Jamar, former NFL player, comes into the picture, and asks her to train him.
Overall, this seems like a joyous and light read and I will definitely be coming back to finish this story.
I greatly enjoyed the first 4 chapters of The Dating Playbook! It was funny, engaging, and I want to know more! I look forward to reading the rest!
Thank you for allowing me to read !
Taylor Powell is an incredibly driven personal trainer. However, without a college degree and with next to no money, she is finding it hard to stay afloat. Her best friends Samiah Brooks (main character in the Boyfriend Project and tech genius) and London Kelly (award winning pediatric surgeon) offer their financial and emotional support, but Taylor wants to do things on her own. When a former NFL star shows up to one of Taylor’s boot camp style training sessions and asks her to train him, she reluctantly agrees. This is where chapter 4 ends.
I loved the writing style in this book, just as much as in The Boyfriend Project. The conversations between the three women are witty and non-nonsense. It reminds me of my closest friends, the kind who love you no matter what but don’t let you make excuses for yourself. The chemistry between Taylor and the former NFL player is already visible. I can’t wait to read the rest!
Jordan is down her luck, and looking to jump start her career in health and fitness. I loved the plot, hello fans of sports romance, and the characters. The book reads easy, perfect for a lazy Sunday morning. I only got to take a sneak peak at the first four chapters but I can tell Farrah Rochon has the goods when it comes to crafting a memorable story. Something that did leave a bad taste in my mouth was our heroine's attitude, she seemed a little full of herself. It is always important however, to put out real life characters, and this is probably just one of the things that makes Jordan human. I do also like our love interest, Jamal. Sweet and respectable with just the right amount of sass. Id recommend this to any of my sweet rom com loving readers.
This preview of The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon hooked me right from the first page. I loved how Taylor and her two best friends support, empower and cheer each other on. I also loved the banter between Taylor and Jamar. I'm really looking forward to reading That Dating Playbook once it's released.
Thank you to NetGalley, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Farrah Rochon for the chance to read this preview of The Dating Playbook.
I am sooooooooo much more stoked for this book now than I was going into it, and I was already EXCITED! To me the pacing felt improved from previous books which gets rid of my only gripe. I loved these chapters, they were fun, sweet, smart and snarky, just such a refreshing read!
I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!
I was kindly given the opportunity to review the first four chapters of The Dating Dare, thanks to NetGalley.
We follow a woman named Taylor, who has become friends with two others all because they found out they were dating the same guy, at the same time. Friendship is important, but it's also sometimes hard when they don't understand the struggles you are dealing with.
As Taylor has a pop-up boot camp class, to try and pay for the very expensive dinner her friends and her had, she notices a new face in the crowd. Is this another "Craighole", as she called them. Or was he someone who is really looking for her help?
I may have only read the first four chapters, but I'm ready to read more. Taylor is absolutely relatable in many ways, like not being as "successful" as her friends , not having a college degree and financially struggling. This is nice to see, and is a great character that you want to root for.
