Lord Ares, the third book in Jade Lee's Lords of the Masquerade Series, has got everything that a classic historical romance needs: lovers who can't be together, overbearing mothers, the requisite bluestocking, and a happily ever after. I did enjoy it, but found myself wishing that it just had a little bit more of everything. It felt a little tame for my taste and at points, I wished that the book was actually about the secondary romance with the hero's sister and the Scottish laird who is pursuing her as that seemed to be a lot more interesting. Even though this was more of a middle of the road read for me, I know that there are plenty of readers that will fall head over heels for Lilah and Aaron's story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!
