This is a well written and clear guide on accessibility, which is a hot topic in design right now. Even though this book focuses on learning content, anyone working in product or content design needs to learn about how to make things more useable.

There’s a misnomer that accessibility applies only to those with disabilities, but making things easier use benefits everyone. In short, accessible means that something is available and can be used by anyone. It applies not only to new technology, but everyday things we all use and tend to take for granted, like doors and light switches. How many times have you tried to open a door, only to be unsuccessful because you were supposed to push it and you pulled it or vice versa. You probably blamed yourself, but the truth is, if you are confused about how to use a door, that is poor product design and poor accessibility.

I would recommend this book to anyone, and plan on using it in my classroom.

I am going to get this book and make sure everyone at my university reads it. We all need to do better. Thank you for the chance to read it and learn. While it isn’t the most compelling read, the information is vital.

Susi Miller has written a timely and critically important book for all of those in the learning and communications professions. With many of us now working primarily remotely, as a trainer, all of my sessions have shifted to online with many courses now being self-directed modules that learners take at their own pace. I had gotten feedback from a few employees about some of the barriers they had to accessing content due to graphics or other issues with the way we have always structured our sessions and modules. This book really raised my awareness around ways to make our learning much more accessible to all audiences. I emphasize all audiences too because as our workforce gets older, the likelihood of the onset of some form of disability (visible or invisible) increases. I have yet to find a book that explains how to do this in such detail. It is very technically detailed and even though I myself do not design e-learning, I plan to share this with our vendors and employees who are learning content developers. Thank you to Susi Miller for writing this book!

I recommend this book for training and communications professionals!
