The Meeting Point was such a fun read and almost immediately I was sucked into the plot and invested in Maya's story. The relationship felt relatable as did her decision making; it was practical and what most people would do given the circumstances. I love how Maya's character grew and took chances knowing the "what if" might be worse than getting out of her comfort zone. If you're looking for an easy and captivating story of what happens when you take chances and believe in yourself, you should pick up The Meeting Point on September 2nd.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The chemistry between Maya and "Max" was off the charts- there were multiple times that I found myself smiling and giggling while reading their banter and honestly their chemistry leapt off of every single page. I so adored this book, it was a perfect summer read for me!
So, I read a LOT of romance books and I think this is one of my new favorites! I really enjoyed the plot and the characters. Our main character texts her boyfriend, who lost his phone with his Lift driver. She proceeds to meet the driver, learn her boyfriend is cheating on her, and have a magical day with the Lift driver. Yes, this is an unlikely scenario, but it was really well done and I enjoyed it. The writing was fast paced and the plot was good. There are not any steamy sex scenes in it, but it was still SO GOOD! Can you tell how much I enjoyed this? It was clever and well done. I cannot wait to read another book by this author.
Really didn't enjoy this and will not be leaving a review.... sorry ... only managed to get to 20% before I had to stop.
This book is not for me.
Thank you
Would you start a conversation via text with a complete stranger? Maya did and it was the start to the sweetest love story. I loved this book so much and was smiling so much throughout it.
What I Loved:
-Mayas relationship with all the other characters (except David, he's a scumbag). I just loved seeing her interact with people.
-Mayas little HEAs that she writes, so cute!
-The location (Carmel By The Sea) which is now on my list of places I NEED to visit.
What I didn't love as much:
-Sometimes I got annoyed with Maya and her behavior or how clueless she seemed to some things. But that didn't last long or ruin the book for me at all.
This is a very clean romance with no language and no steam. I usually prefer some steam but this book was so good even without it! I can't wait to read the authors other book.
Thank you Netgalley and publisher for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I loved this! I so rarely give romance books 5 stars but I finished this one with a huge smile on my face and tears in my eyes. It was the perfect blend of realistic and fantasy romance. Yes, I knew what was going to happen and I was ready to give it 4 stars because of it, but the slight twist at the end really took me for a loop (since I saw the "big twist") and really pushed this one over the edge. It gave it that "I need to know what happens next" feeling even though I knew in my heart what the ultimate ending needed to be.
Maya's journey is so relatable and intriguing. The whole time I kept thinking this was a modern twist on "You've Got Mail" (which I love) but it improved upon it in many ways. The relationships seems real. The matchmaking bits were fun. And to top it off, the characters were so delightful. If you're in the mood for a rom-com, this one is fantastic!
This was an absolute delight. If you're looking for a fun book to sweep you off your feet this summer: look no further. This was SO good. The chemistry between Maya and "Max" was off the charts- there were multiple times that I found myself smiling and giggling while reading their banter and honestly their chemistry leapt off of every single page. Also the setting was PERFECT and I need a vacation to Carmel-by-the-sea ASAP!
Maya tries to surprise her boyfriend David for her birthday but is told by a Lyft driver who found David’s phone he’s cheating on her. Via text, the driver sends her on an adventure-filled birthday. They agree to meet at a bench on the beach but then he doesn’t show up. Nearly a year later, Maya learns an author has written about their encounter in an upcoming book. She flies back to CA to try to find her mystery man and see if he felt the way she did. The author, a friend of “Max” says he must be convinced she won’t break his heart again before he reveals the identity.
I liked the story but felt Maya was a little too obtuse. There were several times she should have figured it out before the end.

Oh, How I Loved this book!!!!
This is simply one of the sweetest things I have read in a while. The characters were easy to connect to and were very well fleshed out. The plot pacing was good and who doesn't look a good romance.
Ooooh I liked this one. A lot. I love it when a book has one of those moments where you are just so desperate to intervene and stop a situation but you can see it unravelling in front of your eyes and can do nothing to stop it. Thats exactly how I felt with a moment in this one. But wow the rest of the book does not disappoint. I love the matchmaker and romantic in Maya as she is like a modern day Jane Austen's Emma (only better) but misses the point in her own love life. I'm sure many of us can relate. This is fun, fresh, cheeky, cringy at times but overall everything you could want from this type of novel.

This was a super cute story. I really enjoyed it.
I received the Meeting Place for free in exchange for an honest review. This was the first book that I had read by Olivia Lara, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was a very enjoyable read. Looking forward to reading more.
I really enjoyed this romcom. First off, the story line was perfect. I love a good exes to lovers story. I loved the chemistry between all of the characters and that there was more than one love story in the book. I also really enjoyed the cover of this book, it was perfect for the story! Overall, this was the perfect frenemies to lovers romcom and I really enjoyed it.
This is one of the sweetest books I read this month. The characters and the plot are so wholesome. The adventures of the book made me feel like I am on an adventure 🖤🖤
I think the female protagonist of this book is stronger than she knew. and the male protagonist is one of the sweetest people I met in books.
Thanks Netgalley for a arc copy of this book for a honest review..

This story was a surprise in a great way. It was intriguing and fun. The meet cute of the main characters was so lighthearted. It has you cheering for them to physically meet from the beginning. I read the book in a matter of hours. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next.
Their journey to find each other was entertaining. I enjoyed the plot and all the characters had to endure. I was so grateful for the HEA. I had been pulling for this couple from the beginning. Their text meeting was such a different way to approach a typical romance.
This was the cutest romance set up. I was so so interested to read it and see how it played out.
So a romance with a lift driver? Seems kind of creepy, maybe. But this book was anything but. I was very invested. in Maya as a character. she was an underdog. She had this awful day and made the most of it.
There was a point that she felt like a feather in the wind. She felt like she had no choices in her life. I would have loved to hear more of her background and her relationship with her mom.
This book was pretty predictable, but that didn't bother me. At certain points I thought it was so obvious who she was looking for, but I enjoyed the love story via text and the one that was taking place in real life.
This was such a sweet story and if you love the idea of blind love then you will LOVE this one!
4/5 stars
A lighthearted and cute romance read that I read in a day.
I didn't dislike this book but it was just ok. The biggest let down for me was the insta-love and the immature tone throughout - I can not stand insta-love at all so sadly I found myself just getting annoyed more often then not and not invested at all in the romance. It was also at times quite predictable but to be honest that didn't bother me all too much, I often find this is the case with these kind of romance reads.
Overall, a heartwarming lovely read that I think many will enjoy ... It reminded me of a cheesy hallmark movie (not a bad thing!) and I loved the setting ... just unfortunately it didn't quite hit the mark for me!
Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC of this one in exchange for an honest review.
My what a book
This book deserves no stars because it has the entire universe in my opinion. When i first saw the chapters i was shocked but David and Maya quickly melted my heart with their beautiful love story. The hopeless romantic couldn't get enough of this beautiful small town goodnes and the suspense weaved in this story.
I loved all the characters save for David and Janice but the rest of them i was rooting and cheering them on throughout
If you're a hopeless romantic like me looking for your next book to curl up to. Then this beauty right here should be up your tbr.

The Meeting Point By Olivia Lara is a whole lot of fun. It definitely has “You’ve Got Mail” vibes but in an updated and cool way. It’s full of humor and heart, and I enjoyed this very much.
Maya decides to surprise her boyfriend by traveling from New York City to San Fransisco for her birthday. When she arrives at the airport in San Fransico, she can’t get a hold of her boyfriend on the phone, and instead, she reaches his Lyft driver who inadvertently spills that her boyfriend was cheating on her in a text.
Ethan, the Lyft driver, feels sorry for her, and sorry he was the one to let her know about her boyfriend’s cheating. With a day left in the Bay Area, he takes her on an adventure in Carmel on Sea by text. They decide to leave out any personal information and they never meet face to face as they explore the coastal town together.
The humor and heart in this book are evident throughout the entire book. I loved Maya and Ethan and couldn’t wait for them to be together, but it took some time! I loved the old movie “You’ve Got Mail” and this book has a similar story, but updated.
The author did an excellent job of describing the town of Carmel by Sea, and I felt like I was there. At the old victorian houses, the lovely cafe, and the bonfire on the beach. This is a perfect summer book, full of fun, and sunshine. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
