If you're a Kiersten Modglin fan, you will be please to know another fabulous book is on its way July 5th. As soon as I hear another book is on its way, I get excited. I start waiting on pins and needles. Her brain works in mysterious ways and I can't wait to see what she has dreamed up this time! I'm pleased to report that once again she has produced a stellar experience for her readers.
Some of her books have so many twists and turns, I am breathless as if I'm on a roller-coaster. This book had several of them but, I found it gentler if you please. Don't get me wrong, it was still a book I couldn't put down. It had me spellbound. The suspense was building and although I thought I knew where it was going, I DID NOT! I, somehow, feel like this book could easily become a series. I at least need a sequel. I want to know what happens in the future.
Her character development is the best for this book. You literally learn about the characters as you go. Then BAM...you are reading the end. It is the ultimate! If you haven't read a Kiersten Modglin book then you really don't have an idea how much fun it is to be so scared. Jump on the band wagon and see what it is all about.
I received a copy of this book from the #Bookouture/#Netgalley for a fair and honest review. Thanks again, Kiersten!
Oh, My. God. I absolutely devoured this book. When they said this was a gripping page-turner, they were not messing around!! I felt like I couldn’t read it fast enough. This book had me legit scared at points, but it was like watching a car crash—you couldn’t look away. It got my heart pumping and I found myself needing to take breaks when things got too creepy because I’m the biggest scaredy-cat lol, but 5 minutes later I’d be back for more. I needed to know what was happening next. It took me forever to figure out what was really going on, and even when you had it slightly figured out—boom! Another twist. I highlyyy recommend this thriller.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview Just Married by Kiersten Modglin.
This domestic drama didn't hit me right away - it is about a newly married couple and you read the different POV's of the couple. Each chapter describes the couple's thoughts. I found that i was getting ready to put this book aside due a a slow start, but kept with it, and I am glad i did.
This is a quick read and the ending is good. This is a great beach read and i was surprised by the ending.
3.5 stars.
Wow this is my first book by this author and i was completely blown away. I loved the writing style. Also the shorter chapters were nice and the kind of cliff hangers at pretty much the end of each chapter.
As I began reading “Just Married,” I was scared from the very first page and became nervous after only reading the prologue, about what harm was lurking around the corner for our newlyweds. I try to always read Ms. Modglin’s books during the day because the fear and anxiety that her characters experience has kept me up at night on more than one occasion. I began her new book on a cold and rainy summer morning and while I bundled up in my cozy sweatshirt, I could only imagine how frightened Grace and Ryan were while they were trapped in the mountain cabin with no phone, no means of escape and time running out. It is always impossible to put her books down and as usual, I finished reading in one sitting.
As the danger increased for our happy couple, so did the dread that seeped through my bones. Who was trying to harm them and what did it mean? I was praying they would get in their car and drive away, but it was not to be. When I was finished reading I was left with more questions than answers. I read a few sections again to reassure myself that what I had just witnessed had actually happened. The ending snuck up on me, surprised me, and left me in awe of Ms. Modglin’s creative and devious mind. Once again she has written a book that will grab your attention from her first word, wrap you up in terror and leave you wondering what you had just read!
Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture, and Author Kiersten Mifflin for this fantastic ARC.
At first, I thought maybe Mifflin had lost her minds eyeballs were exhausted from rolling every time this married couple made some sappy remark to one another. Thankfully, it wasn't long before the honeymoon was pushed aside and Modglin's prowess burst into the story.
This book was fast-paced and it had sharp claws. The danger lingered, slithering ever closer. I couldn't help but grip my Kindle with white knuckles as goosebumps spread over my skin. And then came the twist--I knew these two lovebirds had secrets but, boy oh boy, I had no idea it would so cold blooded!
Bravo, bravo, Modglin, once again you wrote a masterpiece of suspense, mystery, and utter thrill.

What a tangled web Ryan and Grace weave, when they enter-twine their pasts with their futures. Things don’t always go as planned.
Sometimes you have to play a part, to get revenge. Sometimes you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do ….

I’ve known about the terrible thing that Ryan did for years and it’s been tearing me apart. Last night I told him I would always keep his secret. But is the man I married hiding something else from me?
Who is Janie? Who is the man in the woods? What is Grace hiding?
This book was so full of twists, that it didn’t add up until the very end. What a great read !!!
I’m loving Keirsten’s books!
4.5 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2💫 from me! I loved it ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Kiersten Modglin us a new author for me and although Just Married is quite a short novel, it certainly packs a lot into each page. This book is addictive and thrilling with some great twists. I devoured it in just over a day as it was almost impossible to put down. Gripping and pacy I can highly recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.
Thank You, NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC. This book was just okay for me, because I'm used to a better execution in K.M. other stories. The plot dragged sometimes and I could not stand Ryan for whatever reason (perhaps constant 'i love you's' did not work for me) - not that Grace was my favorite character either. Nevertheless the story takes places mostly in the woods, which gives it a gloomy, dark atmosphere. Nice work with a couple of twists, although I had a feeling about what was cooking. The ending though was a clever one and left a bittersweet taste. 3 stars from me.
My Review:
Omg, omg, omg what an awesome book this was. Kiersten Modglin is my new favorite author. That ending really got me. It was so good and unexpected. I read this book in only two days. It would’ve only been less but I had adulting I just had to get done. I’ve been wanting to read this author for a while now and I’m so glad I did. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
Ok, let’s talk about this magnificent book. I loved how the author alternated each chapter between the main characters. This kept the book fresh and interesting since you got multiple points of view instead of one. I also loved both of the main characters. They really complimented each other and you will totally get what I mean by the end of the book. The plot of this story was so interesting. Being stuck in the woods while also being hunted by an unknown source is a horror movie in the making and who doesn’t love a good scary story? On to the ending. I never saw that coming in a million years. What you thought you knew, throw that out in the trash and never look back because nothing is what it seems. This was by far one of the best psychological thrillers I have ever read. It shocked me and left me wondering what the heck just happened. It was so good and it will take me a long time to get this one out of my system. Kiersten Modglin, you are one sick twisted woman and I love it.
Between the plot, characters and all the twists in this book it made it an easy and fast read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This book was surprisingly short which just made it even quicker to read. I really loved the premise and the uneasy feeling that the story gave you, it started with a punch and kept giving them. I could put my husband and I in the story and what would we do under the same circumstances. I had a few guesses along the way and were totally wrong but towards the pivotal moment I had sort of guessed the big twist but didn't make it any less enjoyable. The reason I haven't given five stars is the ending was just too far fetched for my liking, like seriously just too much but apart from that it's a really tense thriller. It's my first book by this author but will definitely be checking out more.
*Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Kiersten Modglin for the copy of this book. All views are my own.*
The twists - incredibly well done.
A short, intense read that forces you to finish in one sitting.
Ryan decides to take Grace on their late honeymoon. He finds a remote cabin within their budget.
Grace has serious anxiety issues - requiring time to adjust to plans, environments, etc.
After settling in, strange things start to happen. They are locked out after a soak in the hot tub. On a hike in the woods, they find a strange feral man living in a tent. After their windshield is cracked from a rock, they travel into town. Only to hear the haunting history of the cabin.
Will they survive the murder cabin?
Incredible twists and suspense. Kept me on the edge of my seat.
I liked the premise of the book more than the book itself. The characters were shallow and the plot dragged in a few spots. I did like the few big twists and the big reveal BUT it was PREDICTABLE. Just ok.
Still recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley, Kiersten Modglin and Bookouture for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the idea of the story better than i liked the book. It was hard to relate to or believe the characters or the drama/horror. so while the twists were unique and kept me guessing, i didn't really enjoy the book
Wow!! This is not what a was expecting!!
How have I never read or heard of this author before!! Pretty sure I'm about to blow my monthly book allowance buying everything she has written
This was a unique thriller. I really liked the fact that there wasn't too many characters to keep up with. I disliked the main female character in the begining, but as I read further I understood the author had a reason for the female character's personality traits.
This book is about a recently married couple that decide to go on their honeymoon. Every time I thought I had the story nailed down, I realized I was wrong-which I LOVE!
Grace and Ryan just want a honeymoon since they haven't had theirs after their wedding. Ryan prepared a cabin in the woods that can give them serenity and despite Grace's anxiety to be away, she agreed to go.
Everything is fantastic, not until their car's window got wrecked, threatening notes and phone lines got cut.
There is someone playing some dangerous games to them and they need each other more than ever... besides, they made a vow.
Til death do us part.
This is my second Koersten Modglin novel this month and I am definitely hooked!
Just Married is very fast paced and you can certainly feel the intimacy of each character's every chapter
The novel started out slow (which I think was quite intentional) then a few more chapters in the story is keeping a fast pace and there are so much layers in the story.
This novel reminded me of Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams because it only needed 2 main characters to keep the novel going. Despite having just that number of characters, Kiersten Modglin made sure that I was on the edge of my seat and screaming inside "SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW?".
I rate this book 5 knives!
Will I recommend this? Of course!
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC and to Kiersten Modglin for posting this availability in her instagram
Grace and Ryan are newlyweds who go on a honeymoon retreat to a remote cabin. Then, the creepiness starts. There is a homeless man living in the woods who is stalking them and creating havoc for them, but without a cell phone signal, they are at his mercy. There are multiple points of view and the real revelations begin when a character named Janie is introduced. There are also two timelines, the past and the present. I raced through this book, much as I used to devour the books by Sir Alfred Hitchcock. The storyline and the twists reminded me of how he used to write, with a knife to the gut when you least expected it. Fast-paced with characters I loved to hate, this book was a well-written and absorbing look at what happens when you have secrets that kill. Fans of suspense and thrillers will definitely want to get this book!

Well, that was unexpected.
What started off as a mildly entertaining domestic quickly turned into an action packed thriller. Grace and Ryan are enjoying a belated honeymoon in a cabin in the woods. That's right; a cabin in the woods. Like every horror movie known to man. If that wasn't romantic enough, just add no phone reception, a vehicle out of action and one very interesting 'neighbour'. At first I was confused. The characters weren't acting like real people at all. No one in their right mind would behave that way. Who would immediately jump to those conclusions, even contemplating suicide? Honestly, it had only been a couple of days.
But slowly, masterfully, Kiersten Modglin weaved an intricate web that I did not see coming. Definitely an author I'll be adding to mounting TBR list. That ending though; a little cheesy. I might have cut out the last few pages.
**Huge thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for my advance copy.
Ryan and Grace are a young newlywed couple who books a dreamy honeymoon in a cabin in the woods. However, creepy things start happening soon after their arrival: a locked door, e cracked windscreen, missing phones, slashed tires... soon becomes clear someone is watching them and wants them gone, but why? As they find themselves stranded in the cabin, the couple starts questioning their own sanity, and each other.
Kiersten Modglin did it again! What a wonderful, twisted story! Every twist took me completely by surprise, the many theories I had thrown out of the window. The characters seemed a bit flat to start with, and the story started slow, but everything changed after the 30% mark and I could not put the book down without knowing what was going to happen next!
Thank you so much to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC copy in exchange of an honest review.
