I am so happy to have gotten an advanced copy thanks to Netgalley. This is my new favorite author. I started this story and finished it in a few days. The storyline was intriguing, loved the main character and the adventure the story takes her on. It was filled with emotional sadness and strength and the characters feel very real. I haven’t enjoyed a storyline in such a long time and was very happy this was not a simple predictable story.

I tried so hard to like this book, but I just kept finding myself wanting to fast forward. One thing I have to say is, I did love Delphie the main character- she was a strong woman and I was rooting for her. Besides that, eh .

This book will be published just in time for last picks for summer reading. It will be a good title for those who have been enjoying women’s fiction titles this season.

Delphie is a woman who has given her all to her career and to her boss, Conrad. She is an employer’s dream, loyal, hardworking, knowledgeable and compassionate. Her family feels that she has given too much to her career and not enough to her personal life but Delphie, herself, is okay with this until…no spoiler but things will change. What will then happen to and for Delphie?

Delphie is surrounded by characters with whom readers will enjoy spending time. Early in the novel, Delphie becomes reacquainted with Ed who becomes her “plus one” for her brother’s wedding. Will they remain friends or will they become something more?

Readers also get to know Delphie’s two closest female friends. They spend time together offering support to one another. They also go on trips together including one to Mallorca.

So, there are three weddings and a proposal. Who is involved in each one? How will each affect Delphie? Read the novel to find out.

I very much enjoyed this book. I was invested in Delphie, the choices she makes, the world of work that is described in these pages and in her relationships. I will certainly want to read more by this author.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

A lovely book which caused the main character to go into a journey of discovering herself.

Delphie was always working, and her family wanted her to spend time with them. A catastrophe of events occurred which caused her to take stock of her life.

The author had done a wonderful job where Delphie discovered her self worth and set her priorities in life straight.

Set over 3 weddings, where Delphie spent her free time getting back to her life, filled with hope and dreams and ambitions. Romance too played a part.

Overall, a sweet read.

Three Weddings and a Proposal is that perfect summer read. Delphie I has her dream job which occupies most of her life but a series of events changes everything for her. The story takes place over the summer at of course three weddings. Delphie loves her busy life and her independence but when all of that changes she finds an unexpected pleasure in free time and reconnecting with her family.
This book was a fun read and the Irish nuances made it interesting. This was a great break from some my heavier reads! Perfect for summer!

"I'm alone.... I'm not lonely" Yes, this...perfectly this!

This story follows Delphie -- she thinks she's got it all going on, a great job, a wonderful boss, terrific friends, a fantastic house by the sea. Except her family is always blaming her for working too hard/too many hours and not "settling down" with a family. She's at her brother's wedding when her world starts changing - crazy death of her boss, she leaves her job, she runs into her ex, her grandma passes away....so much going on, and it's entertaining to follow her through everything and come out in a better place.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

I received an advance copy of, Three Weddings and a Proposal, by Sheila O'Flanagan. I love books by Sheila O'Flanagan. This is not her best book, but it was ok.

I enjoyed this book even if Delphie often confused me. I feel the author wasn’t sure if she could write a truly strong independent single woman and therefore, Delphie came off as a sort of split personality. The constant badgering by her family got on my bloody nerves and D was such a wimp! She was a total wimp with the guy who broke her heart and just let him run over her and right into her life. Yet with her boss and her job and her friends, she was someone you rooted for.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Delphie is enjoying her life. She has not had a serious relationship in a while. She surprises everyone in her family when she brings a date to a family members wedding. This was an enjoyable read.

this was an interesting read about Delphie as she attends 3 weddings, along the way she discovers her self worth and has her happy ending. enjoyed this story.

What I enjoyed most is that despite what occurred with Conrad that Delphie realized her own self worth and pursued what she deserved with further encouragement whether it be Martha, Erin, Sheedy or her mom. She knew what she wanted and deserved and went for it which resulted in her ultimate dream job as the CEO job as head of Jackie's foundation. This book is a great reminder that when you feel lost, if you believe in yourself and serve as your best champion, anything is possible.

***Three Weddings and A Proposal is a book about empowerment, about women trying to carve out a place in the business world and how difficult the striving can be for personal relationships. This is especially true in a society where being part of a couple is more highly valued as a measure of a woman’s success than any corporate position. It touches on many other issues women face including divorce, midlife crises, the old boys club culture, and most of all how hard it sometimes is for women to resist caving to conformity. There is a strong feminist message in this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. It’s good, but not great.
