Very different from the other Ann Patcherr books that I’m read. This was supremely timely but perhaps not timeless… I wasn’t floored by it but I’m sure it will reach a good readership.

Ann Patchett speaks to the unsettling times we are living in. While her stories are deeply personal, they reflect a universal state of mind. Our current unease and constant reminders of our own mortality or that of our loved ones lurks around every corner. Older essays give a glimpse of how she became the writer she is today. A very enjoyable read.
