As I was reading this book I felt like I could see it playing out on the big screen. There were so many fun cameos from big name superstars and silly situations that I was both laughing, crying, and swooning.
Lu and True are long time best friends who have been kinda circling each other for years when Lu finds out Keanu Reeves is going to get married in 90 days. She is a little Keanu obsessed so like any other person would do who is trying to procrastinate real life, she sets out to find Keanu and convince him to marry her instead. True, being her best friend decides to help in her hair brained scheme and off they go on a cross-country adventure.
I enjoyed all the silly antics and the long looks they gave each other. You can really feel their friendship deep in your bones but more than that the love they have between them is a tangible object in every space they occupy. My heart broke for them when things didn't pan out and I wanted to grab one of the more than once and tell them to make better choices. These two really got under my skin and I'm so glad I read this story of fan-girling, falling in love, and friendship.
This book was a laugh riot to me. Bethany was too old to have such an obsession over Keanu, but here we are. . I loved the BFF, friends-to-lovers, road trip aspect of the whole thing. We do get to the root of Bethany's obsession, which made me have sympathetic feelings to her.
This is a phenomenally fun, funny and interesting rom-com. A great quick easy read that is captivating and entertaining. I was hooked at Keanu but stayed for Tru, Lu and the whole celebrity and non-celebrity gang! This was one of my favorite novels this year.
It is a well written novel with great characters and great character development, as well as a fun storyline. I was a bit hesitant as I first started reading thinking, "Keanu Reeves is really getting married in 90 days, what in the heck? And why is this Lu gal so involved?" But this novel is so well written and the storyline is 1 in a million and worth a read!
Trust me if you are a romance reader, a rom-com reader, love pop culture or are just a fan of Keanu Reeves you will adore this novel as much as I did!
First, I have to say that the title is an attention grabber! I'm not a huge Keanu Reeves fan but even I was interested in this book! This was a really fun book to read. I have to admit that the story line felt disjointed to me in parts but it came together quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed the witty banter and adventures that Lu and True went on. And I squealed at some of the characters that made an appearance! The story definitely took us on an enjoyable ride. Even with the book being light and comedic, there was also some underlying seriousness with the feelings of a tragic death that has affected both of them that added more depth to the characters and their relationship. I loved where we left them at the end.

An incredibly unique premise... but in practice, I found Bethany Lu's obsession with Keanu frustrating.
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced reader copy of this book for an honest review. Opinions are my own.
This story follows Bethany Lu, a woman in her forties who is a super fan of Keanu Reeves. After some internet gossip suggests Keanu is getting married, she decides she needs to find a way to meet him and talk him out of marriage. She has the full support of her two best friends, True and Dawn. True accompanies her on her mis adventures and they fall in love.
There is a lot to like about this book. The friendships and banter feel authentic and are very funny. The author is clearly a lover of NYC because her descriptions of the city convey her knowledge and love of the place.
I didn't really connect with this book, though. These characters read about 10-15 yrs younger than their chronological age. A forty something woman chasing Keanu Reeves... It was a hard premise. This book has some pacing issues too, it wasn't until past 25% they even started their Keanu Quest.
There are many funny moments and constant hijinx and celebrity appearances.

From the premise and cover, I thought this would be about a younger person (after all, what adult can or would put their life on hold to try to track down a celebrity they don't know to convince him not to get married?) but was pleasantly surprised to find the characters are in their 40's.
The surprise and relief quickly wore off as I started reading. This may as well have been a new adult book as Bethany was wildly immature, her emotions quickly swinging all over the place. Nothing was ever her fault, even though it usually was, and she was quick to anger and blame anyone around her.
If you are the type who can overlook their feelings for a main character, then perhaps this will be a better read for you than it was for me! There were certainly some good parts (True) for you to enjoy.
This was such a fun, adventure about best friends-to-lovers, grief and self-discovery.
Bethany is a hilarious character but felt a little hollow a little manic pixie dream girl until we got more backstory towards the end. I loved the foundation for her character but she was clearly not "alright" and most of those red flags were described as quirky traits by her friends.
True is the real gem of this book. Tell me any other guy who would willingly go on a road trip to help the woman he secretly loves find another man because he knows she needs this to heal.

I thought this book was fun and it fed my childhood soul! I loved the banter and the adventure in this book. I loved the friendship and trust True and Lu share. This book was super cute, though a bit longer than needed but it was cute nonetheless. I love the friends to lovers trope. I enjoyed this cute, silly, light and airy day dream of a book
Thank you netgalley and Forever publishing for approving me for this ARC!
I can not tell you how excited I was to get my hands on a copy of How to marry Keanu Reeves in 90 days, the title alone is so fun and catchy!
The characters in this book are lively, spontaneous, enjoyable amusing and I couldn't get enough! Now at first I thought Bethany Lu Carlisle was going a little overboard with her reaction to Keanu getting married, especially since she's closer to my age and not a teen but then I thought about the love I've carried around for Will Smith since I was 14 and you know what? I totally get it!
HTMKR in 90 days has some of my all time favorite things in a rom com.....amazing friendships, road trips, friends to lover and celeb sightings!!! If you want something quirky, exciting and inviting this is it!
3⭐
PG-13 for adult content but not overly steamy
What a quirky book! I suppose that's not a surprise from the title and I was so intrigued by this book premise. Bethany Lu is an artist in NYC who is devastated when she learns Keanu Reeves, her longtime celebrity crush, is getting married so she sets of with her (male) best friend to stop him.
Reasons you would like this book:
-A strong badass female character
-Diverse characters (we love it!)
-Main characters over forty!
-A friends to lovers moment with plenty of pining
-Famous person obsession with lots of fun celebrity sightings
Reasons why you may want to pass on this book:
-Characters with major issues that need therapy more than a romantic relationship
-Characters that blame outside circumstances for the current state of their life and take no ownership for their choices
-Surface level action drives this book forward instead of the characters learning more about themselves
Bethany Lu was such a cool character. I loved seeing the world through her eyes, but I was disappointed that she did not grow as a person throughout this book. Overall, there were just some plot holes that didn't make the character's circumstances believable. The book was cute and fun for a quick romance book read to enjoy all the celebrity cameos throughout the novel. Would recommend if you're someone who enjoys romance books and trying to bump into celebrities on purpose!
A huge thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!
.
A road trip story with a protagonist in her 40s who hasn't completely figured out her life? Sign me up. Add in Keanu Reeves? Just makes it better. Lu is a character that you want to love from the moment you meet her and I loved her friendship with True and Dawn. The three of them bring out the best in each other and their individual relationships with each of the others is really special to understanding how friends outside of a romantic partner exist throughout adulthood. I have never had a strong opinion on Keanu Reeves movies personally, but he was a fun foil to the characters both in and out of their reality.
.
The love story between Lu and True feels realistic despite the amount of time it takes them to get there, and the payoff is definitely worth it. Their individual arcs compliment each other and brings the audience on to their sides. I'm not always a fan of dual pov novels, but on this one I spent the first bit of the book wishing I could hear from True. Imagine my excitement when his perspective suddenly appeared. Also, I just want to point out how adorable the celebrity cameos were throughout the book. Lu was definitely existing in a fanfiction world, and I loved it.

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90
Days
Thank you to @netgalley and @readforeverpub for my copy in return for an honest review
I was excited to read this one But…
The protagonist was just a little bit too desperate, a little too oblivious (about her own love life) , and a lot too obsessed with Keanu.
Granted I had posters of him on my walls as a teen but eventually those posters came down…. While this premise is a fun idea it flopped for me on the page. I found myself disengaged and not at all interested in seeing where the story was going…
This book just wasnt a good fit for me.. maybe my expectations were too high, maybe it was my mood but overall it was just okay.
*I wanted to thank NetGalley and Forever Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review*
When I first read the title, I knew this was going to be a riot. Who wouldn't want to marry Keanu Reeves (or any celebrity crush established from a young age)? I have my fair share of celebrities that I could substitute Keanu Reeves in the title, and that love made me highly empathetic to Lu's drive to meet and marry Keanu Reeves. I enjoyed that she was a confident Black woman in her 40s and was so sure of herself in almost every way. The relationships she has with her friends and her inevitable love interest in True are wonderful and true to the friendships I hope to have and keep throughout my life.
Some of the writing was a bit too expositional, which took me out of the story every once in a while. I wanted more chapters from True's point of view because when you have a dual POV novel, both perspectives should be equal. It's just as much of True's story as it is Lu's (and Keanu's).
I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I love stories that are about mature women. Heck yeah for a 40 year old woman as our heroine! That being said, our heroine is a complete mess. What grown woman has a breakdown over her movie star crush getting married?? One who has a lot of unresolved grief and trauma. Using this shock as a way to A) meet her lifetime movie crush and B) try to grow up and move forward is really smart. The strange adventures that ensue are wild, improbable, and hilarious. There were times I had a hard time staying in the book, because it was so improbable, but I did enjoy the book overall.
Also, Keanu is the best.
“Chasing Keanu was just running away from what we’ve both been dodging for so long.”

How To Marry Keanu Reeves In 90 Days is a fun, unique read, about love and fulfilling dreams.
Bethany Lu is obsessed with Keanu Reeves. So much so, that when she sees he’s getting married in 90 days, she’s sent into a a flurry of rash decisions including holding off a business deal, and taking a road trip with her best friend True in hopes of finding Keanu and stopping his wedding. But sometime during this road trip adventure, she starts to wonder if the man of her dreams was really by her side all along.
I was drawn in by the fun cover and Keanu. I mean, have y’all seen Speed? And I really thought all the Keanu references in this story were fun. But some of this story just didn’t execute as well as I had hoped for me. It felt like there was a lot packed in but it was all a bit disconnected. The biggest thing for me though was that they didn’t feel their stated ages. Bethany especially. And it made it difficult for me to connect. This is a story that you really need to suspend reality, and just have fun with. If you can do that I think you’ll enjoy it!

This was a book I could NOT wait to read, and it did NOT disappoint, purely a fun romance read that I would recommend anyone picking up that loves any of the following:
★ Friends to lovers romance
★ Road Trips / spur of the moment trips that are just SO out there, you can't do anything but GO
★ Celebrity sightings of some of your favorite stars in the weirdest places
★ Chasing after your dreams
True & Lu have been friends for years, standing next to one another in the aftermath of Lu's brother dying, both kind of stuck in a hard place vs dealing with their feelings of guilt from the past, and finding their way for their futures. In this quirky book, Lu's love for Keanu Reeves hits an all time high when she finds out he's getting married.... and she just can't let that happen.
Using her Keanu90 plan to avoid confronting adulting (WHO CAN RELATE?!) Lu sets herself and her friends on a wild ride full of friendly banter, great adventure and maybe, just maybe learning to love yourself, do a bit of healing and let yourself fall for the right guy along the way.
Thank you Forever Publishing for the eARC of this highly anticipated read, I gave this one 4.5 stars for all the warm fuzzy feelings and FUN, this one just left a big smile on my face!
I really wanted to like this. I've seen so much buzz on social media about this book. However, there was just too much going on - so many subplots and extra characters. The dialogue didn't flow, in my opinion. And, the random celebrity sightings were just sort of confusing. The epilogue especially had me scratching my head. Maybe it's me and I haven't seen enough Keanu Reeves movies to get the references?
Nonetheless, I'm thankful for the opportunity to read this digital ARC in return for an honest review.
Cute cover. Cute story. Cute title. I loved the writing and the characters. I am ordering a few copies because I'll be recommending it to patrons often. Thank you!
I genuinely loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. The writing is really clever and is one of those stories that finds a way to incorporate important discussions about our society into a whimsical, enthralling narrative. The characters are multidimensional and relatable, and there were just enough fantastical elements to make it extra fun. I’m so glad I read How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days!
