Angie Turner of the County Seat restaurant and her staff are at a team building retreat at River Visa Veteran’s Home. While they are there only 2 veterans are in residence and the facility coordinator is not exactly friendly. Angie has taken her dog, Dom with her and Dom has decided that one of the residents is his new best friend and he will guard her while the workers do their renovations. Angie settles on taking care of the meals while the other staff are painting and cleaning. Is there a secret that will be discovered when the building is restored to good condition?

A light mystery in this novella with great characters and a dog you just want to hug!

I absolutely loved this Farm-to-Fork novella! Lynn Cahoon consistently writes gripping cozy mysteries, and this novella did not disappoint. I love the setting at the County Seat. Dom is one of my favorite cozy companions. The mystery was compelling and ended with a twist.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I had read and very much enjoyed a Lynn Cahoon story some time ago, so her name caught my attention and I am happy it did.
A Pumpkin Spice Killing is an entertaining novella about Angie and her working family doing some charity work at a home for the elderly. There they encounter a very hostile host and not one, but two mysteries.
This was a perfect read to start off my summer holidays.
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

This is the latest novella in the Farm to Fork series by Lynn Cahoon. Set in Idaho we follow chef and restaurateur Angie Turner and the staff from the County Seat as they head out on their yearly retreat. Each novella in this series takes place on one of these retreats. This one brings them to River Veterans Home, where they are helping to get the home back up to standards and cook for the veterans living there.
Angie's St. Bernard Dom is also along for the ride and he and Angie both connect instantly to one of the veterans Randy. Through that connection Angie starts to become suspicious of some of the conditions with the residents and their deteriorating health.
The owner of the home becomes upset with Angie and her team's concerns and involvement with the two residents. This sends up even more red flags. Then one of the veterans ends up very ill and Angie and the team must find out what is really going on at the home.
A fast paced mystery and a heartwarming read.

This is a quick short read. I enjoy these novellas in the series as they add a little more insight into the characters and the town. The characters are well-developed and interesting. The mystery, though short, is well-plotted and full of surprises. This is an entertaining cozy mystery.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone.

I found this to be a fine mystery, although I had a hard time believing that Carol would got from so unpleasant to so nice in such a short time. The story seemed rushed. It could probably be a few pages longer and then it would be more believable.

Angie takes her whole team from the County Seat to a retreat. This time they are working on fixing up a place for aging veterans. When there seems to be something wrong with how the residents are being treated, Angie takes it upon herself to do a bit of investigating.

Going into this one, I was a bit worried that it would be scary. I mean, of course, it's a cozy mystery, so there wouldn't be anything too creepy, but still! I did have a great time reading this little novella. I was taken completely by surprise by the ending! I cannot wait to read more from Lynn Cahoon!

I received a copy of tA Pumpkin Pie Killing from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review vim not a fan of cozy mysteries. I read this book to fulfill a prompt for a reading challenge. This book is short and easy to read. The plot is simple and the chapters sweet. Cozy mysteries are popular but they aren’t for me.

A Pumpkin Spice Killing by Lynn Cahoon has Angie Turner and the staff from the County Seat heading off on a team building retreat to River Visa Veteran’s Home. The group has four days to get the place up to code for the residents plus provide them with nourishing meals. Angie and her St. Bernard, Dom make friends with a Vietnam veteran, Randy Owens. Randy regrets the way he treated his son and wishes to make amends before it is too late. Angie agrees to look for his son. Dom seems to sense that something fishy is going on at the veteran’s home. While Dom protects Randy, something happens to the other resident. It seems that Angie has stumbled upon another mystery. A Pumpkin Spice Killing is the latest novella (book 5.5) in A Farm-to-Fork Mystery series. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading all the books in this charming culinary mystery series. A Pumpkin Spice Killing is easy to read with friendly characters. The mystery was interesting and light (which goes with a novella). Angie spends time trying to figure out if foul play is involved. Everything comes together at the end. It is not my favorite type of mystery, but I can see what the author used this approach for a novella. I enjoyed seeing the cast come together to do help others in need. There is plenty of good food and friendship in this engaging tale. A Pumpkin Spice Killing is a touching cozy mystery with Vietnam veterans, a dedicated dog, an absent son, an apprehensive administrative, a major regret, mouthwatering meals, and fine friends.

A novella that's a quick visit and a retreat at a Veteran's home with the fabulous staff of County Seat. Very enjoyable.

I have now read four books in Lynn Cahoon's Farm-to-Fork Mystery series set in a restaurant, 'The County Seat' in Idaho. I jumped at the opportunity to read this one, A Pumpkin Spice Killing as I enjoy a well written cosy, and this looked like it fitted the bill.

Angie Turner runs her own restaurant alongside her best friend, Felicia. In this novella, Angie, and her team have booked into a privately run military veterans' home and are sprucing it up in time for the summer. The owner Carol, however, isn't overly welcoming when they arrive and the group from The County Seat sense that something isn't right.

I enjoyed this short novella and my brief time in the lives of the characters. These novellas help with character growth and development, in my opinion, which Lynn Cahoon does well. The team is starting to become like a family. Although most cozies involve a murder this one was more of an enigmatic mystery.

This book can certainly be enjoyed as an individual instalment without having read the other novels or novellas though you would probably wish to! The plot was fun and lively and some great camaraderie between the group workers made it compelling as events moved along at a comfortable pace. The mystery itself was light but interesting and I was kept guessing. I had a blast reading this highly amusing and entertaining cozy mystery and I'm already looking forward to catching up with Angie and her cohorts in book #6, 'A Fatal Family Feast' as well as grabbing copies of the books I've missed.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

A Pumpkin Spice Killing by Lynn Cahoon is a novella with the A Farm to Fork Mystery series.
Angie and the staff are on another team building session. This time they are at a private owned military veteran home that is in need of a spruce up before the license gets pulled.
A resdent recently past and another is ill and losing weight. This sends red flags tp Angie. When Dom seems to want to be with the ill resident, Angie is sure something is going on. Then the veteran asks Angie to find his long lost son and family.. She has her hands full but is determined to get to the bottom of it all.
This story made me tear up numerous times. It is well written and while the mystery doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat, the story will.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are awesome, but someone killing off elderly folks is not! The crew is back in action doing a community service act and something is definitely off with the entire situation, but is there really a crime taking place? Fantastic and eclectic mix of characters makes this series a must read as you'll fall in love with the uniqueness of each individual character as well as the entire crew! Toss in a lovable St Bernard and how can you not love these books? The plot is well crafted and leaves you guessing while unraveling the mystery presented. A thoroughly enjoyable read! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Cozy Mysteries are fast becoming one of my go-to genres to read. And the Farm to Fork series of full-size books and novellas are one of the reasons why.

A Pumpkin Spice Killing is a fun and fast-paced novella in the series. It features Angie and her crew as they participate in a team building exercise while helping to repair a veteran's home, and also providing meals to the residents. But strange things seem to be happening around the house and to the residents. Angie and her team will have sleuth hard to solve these mysteries...while keeping themselves and the remaining residents safe.

This book kept me riveted to the pages. I couldn't do reading until I was finished. It just hooked me right from the start. I absolutely love visiting with the County Seat crew while they solve mysteries and make some delicious food.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

I enjoyed this little novella, though I confess I have not read other books in the series. I do enjoy Ms. Cahoon's Tourist Trap mysteries so I will likely investigate other books in her farm-to-fork series as well.

The team from The County Seat restaurant is doing it's quarterly team building exercise, this time fixing up an elderly home for veterans that has clearly seen better days. The manager/owner Carol has been acting strangely in regard to the residents and wants to usher the crew out almost as soon as they arrive. Apparently, a prior resident died under mysterious circumstances and Angie Turner, chef and sleuth, wants to find out why.

I appreciated that you can feel the camaraderie of the crew from the restaurant even in the few short pages of this novella. Since I am not familiar with the background of this crew, I admit this definitely intrigued me to pick up more books in the series.
