Angie and her staff from the County Seat are headed on another team building retreat. This one brings along Ian and Dom. They are working on fixing up a home for veterans.
Without fail there is a mystery to solve and a puzzle to unravel. One helps reunite a family and the other leads to suspicion that a former resident may not have died of natural causes.
The veterans are great characters and I love Angie and her crew. The story is upbeat and energetic. And it has a happy ending. It is a quick read at about 90 pages.
Angie, Ian and Dom shine in this short Farm-to-Fork mystery.

It's too early for pumpkin spice (and I don't like it anyway) but not for this latest installment in a delightful series. This is a novella not a full length book so it's a quick read that will be a nice way for a newcomer to meet Angie and her friends at the the County Seat restaurant. Their public service/team building exercise is to help a veteran's home which needs to be brought up to code but Carol, who owns it, doesn't welcome them. Angie's dog Dom (love Dom) bonds with Randy, one of the two elderly residents, the team searches out reasons for the discomfort they feel, and all in all, there's good things in the end. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Perfect if you're looking for a light read for a lazy day.

In this latest novella in the Farm-to-Fork series the crew from The Country Seat is helping to fix up a veteran’s home as part of their annual team building exercise. Reading this, it didn’t feel like a short story. Both the characters and the plot are well developed and there’s a twist at the end.

One sitting is all it takes to read A Pumpkin Spice Killing. The Chefs at the County Seat restaurant are out on another team-building adventure. Throughout the story, it involves a sinister woman who served as the state's official caregiver of a home for veterans. In Carol, Lynn Cahoon writes a character that is terrifying and threatening. Dom, the dog, always seems to sense when something is amiss. This story ended with a twist. It was so good to read it.

Thank you Netgalley and Kensington for the ARC of this book. This was an honest review.

I love these Farm to Fork novellas. It gives us a chance to check in with the gang and their magnetic pull towards trouble. These characters have become old friends who I enjoy visiting with at the end of a hectic day. Of course after reading Lynn Cahoon's books I always feel like cooking and eating.

This doesn’t quite fit into the “cozy” genre but does have the charming characters and evocative settings which readers of those books have come to enjoy. It can perhaps be more appropriately categorised as a general mystery and it is a very good mystery indeed! I just wish it had been longer - thank goodness it is part of a series so I know there is more to come.

Angie and her crew from her restaurant the County Seat undertake a charity project several times a year. This time their project is to help Carol get her retirement home up to code before she is shut down. At the present time there are two residents living there. A third recently died. Are the other two in danger too? Strange things start to happen and Carol tries on several occasions to run off the workers. Can Angie figure out if the two men are being targeted as well before it is too late?

Things are amiss at The River Vista Veteran’s Home; thank goodness Angie Turner, her crew from the County Seat and her faithful dog, Dom, are on the scene to prevent further mischief. Lynn Cahoon’s A Pumpkin Spice Killing is another fun entry in her Farm to Fork series, though this one is a novella—a perfect way to spend a summer’s afternoon. Ms Cahoon weaves a tale where Angie’s crew is taking a few days “off” to do community service—this time volunteering to help bring a home for veteran’s up to code. What a lovely premise to frame a story around. I very much enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. My only complaint was that its ending was a bit abrupt.

I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated are solely my own.

A good addition to a charming and entertaining series. This can be read as a standalone. Of course, it will be even more enjoyable after having read the previous ones. The characters are pleasant and easy to care about without all the background provided in the early books. A clever mystery with some surprises. The dog adds heart and bravery to the tale. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

A short novella with a wholesome ending! Join Angie, her crew and her huge furry sidekick as they take on some community service work repairing an old veterans retirement home. But while there, not everything is as it seems and there just might be a few mysteries to solve!

Lynn Cahoon has never failed in delivering an entertaining read. Angie and crew go on retreat to assist a home housing veterans in their last days. There is a lot of work that needs to be done and it appears the owner/operator is in over her head.
Residents are dying and foul play is suspected. To top it off, Carol, the owner/operator/care giver is hostile.

I liked how the team comes together to resolve the issues and spruce up the establishment. Bleak steps forward to assist Angie. I love to see the characters grow.

Without giving anything more away, I really liked this story.

I was given an ARC e-book copy from Netgalley. I am not required to leave a positive review.

Angie Turner takes her employees on a team building project at a local veterans home. They are there to fix it up. But something is not right and Angie is determined to find out what's wrong. Short mystery.

Angie Turner, her boyfriend Ian McNeal and her Country Seat Restaurant crew find more than a rundown building needing some TLC at the River Vista Veteran's Home. They are spending a few days there doing repairs as a team building exercise. What they find is a mystery. They work together to solve it. I loved the camaraderie amongst the group members. Their personalities mesh well with each other. I enjoyed the team effort to rehab the verteran's home ans solve the mystery.

We have a nice quick visit back with the crew from The County Seat Restaurant owned by Angie Turner in River Vista, Idaho. They are on a team building break. This time it is Hope's turn to pick the outing for the group. She picked a service project recommended by her church. They are at a veteran's home that needs some work to bring it up to code and they have their work cut out for them. There are only two men living in the home as one vet recently died. Something is not right at the home because the home owner/manager is not welcoming and acts suspicious but Angie and her staff along with her boyfriend, Ian, don't let that stop them. Dom, her St. Bernard, takes a shine to veteran Randy and the affection is mutual. Lots of good is done with a little sleuthing as well and good food, of course. This was a heartwarming and touching story that I thought especially nice to highlight veterans who gave so much but applies to all those who need a little more help, care and love, in particular those without a family. Angie has a great crew of kind, caring people. (who seem like real people to me 😊)
I received a complimentary ARC from Kensington Books and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

I received a copy of A Pumpkin Spice Killing through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

A Pumpkin Spice Killing is a novella that is part of the Farm-to-Fork Mystery series. In this short mystery, the County Seat crew are on one of their team building retreats, this time at a veteran’s home where they are helping fix up the place when the stumble across another mystery. Angie Turner takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of it while also helping a veteran find his long lost son.

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery and thought it was the perfect quick read and a great addition to the series. This mystery was a quick read that I found hard to put down. Sometimes in this series the characters have gotten on my nerves, but I loved everyone of them in this mystery. It is definitely worth the time to read and I look forward to seeing what comes next in the series.

Great little short! It’s nice to see the Scooby gang solve a mystery that’s not a murder and this had plenty of fingers pointing to suspects, even if you could guess the baddie. Also, they included a recipe and a teaser for the next in the Kitchen witch series! Definitely a fun little read!

Another team building activity- this time the crew is helping rehab a home for the veterans. Something sinister is going on though- one man just passed away and another ends up in the hospital with suspected poisoning. It's up to the gang to figure out who is poisoning the veterans- is it Carol, the woman running the retirement home, or is something else going on? Dom of course saves the day and the lives of a few people.
This is a novella, so not a full story.

This is a quick read. A mystery plot that is set in the Fall season. This book made me crave Pumpkin Spice Latte's and Pumpkin Bread. I thought that I immediately knew who the murderer was but I ended up being wrong. Keep reading to find the clues.

I loved it that Angie and her friends cared so much about the elderly and taking care of the home. I could imagine what Dom - the dog would look like. He was a great guard dog!

I gave this book a four star because I would have loved it to be a little bit longer.
