This an adorable seasonal story sure to make your list this year and every year for your reading time. It is a not scary story with great illustrations. This story is about a little pumpkin and teaches the message to not judge others. Not every spooky season story is scary and this one does a good job being sweet, seasonal, and presenting a message. It also shows not every pumpkin has to be scary. Pumpkins are in the patch looking to be picked by their family and as some are and some are left behind it can be a sad time. This pumpkin feels that way. This is his story. The story is sweet and the illustrations colorful with a great look for the season.

The Happy Pumpkin was absolutely adorable! My 5 year old loved the colorful illustrations and the story. This would be a great addition to an library or personal collection.

It's time for Halloween and everyone rushes to the pumpkin.pkin patch. All the children want scary pumpkins, so the happy pumpkin feels left out. This is a cute story about pumpkin patch visits meant for toddlers. It would be so much fun to read this and then go pick out a happy pumpkin at the pu.pkin patch.

A cute little read of pumpkins wanting to go with families and who would be the ones to be chosen (all get chosen). Quick read.

This was such an adorable book about picking out your pumpkin. In this story, all of the pumpkins have faces and the happiest pumpkin just wants to fit in but he is told that he isn't scary enough for Halloween. As more and more pumpkins get chosen the Happy Pumpkin stays positive and it is a wonderful story.

The illustrations are perfect for Autumn and Halloween, showcaing bright oranges and Fall colors. The pumpkins are all wonderful - their faces are creative and fun renditions of jack-o-lantern options. I think that if you enjoy Spooky Season, Halloween, or just fall this would be a fun and easy read for you and your little one(s).

What a sweet little Halloween book about being true to yourself. A smiling pumpkin and a little boy not so sure about Halloween find themselves in a field not really enjoying the festivities like the others. With a great message about being yourself even when it's hard, this is a not so scary Halloween option for parents looking for a Halloween book sans monsters. There's a multiracial family as the main characters also, so it will be nice for kids to see all types of families represented.

This is a sweet picture book that helps young readers understand that it is OK to be yourself. In a pumpkin patch full of pumpkins who want to be scary for Halloween, one pumpkin just wants to be happy. The happy little pumpkin is not chosen until the very end when a child who isn’t fond of Halloween, selects the happy pumpkin to be his very own.. when both child and pumpkin let their true feelings be known, they both shine! Charming illustrations will capture reader’s hearts, just as the happy pumpkin will!

The Happy Pumpkin was a really cute Halloween book for kids. It's about how all the pumpkins are getting picked at the pumpkin patch and trying to look scary; however, there is one who is happy and he isn't bothered by it. All the other pumpkins are getting picked, but the happy pumpkin still hasn't been, but he still isn't upset or trying to be scary. Eventually, a little boy picks the happy pumpkin because he likes that he is happy and not scary. Overall, this is a great Halloween book about being who you are and not trying to be something your not or don't want to be.

I definitely recommend this book to others; however, I would have to say that I would not personally buy this book for my son. The only reason I wouldn't buy it though is that he has a pumpkin allergy. Overall, I thought this book was well written and the illustrations would capture a child's attention.

I am hoping my review is fair. It was hard to tell as the Netgalley shelf app only works on my phone.
The illustrations are colorful and engaging.
The book itself was just too short. It needed more pages, more build up to the final valuable lesson.

I thought that this was a nice Halloween story, perfect for young children. I love the illustrations! The story is short and sweet and does a great job of being entertaining and teaching a lesson about being yourself. I would highly recommend this story to anyone that is a fan of pumpkins and Halloween, and I think that it would make a great addition to any children's library collection.

This is a sweet Halloween book. It has a nice theme of being yourself. But it doesn’t really have anything special about it. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a book that I would pick to read.

IT'S SPOOKY TIME!

I love all things Fall and Halloween. That season is my vibe and makes me very happy. So a Halloween inspired book with pumpkins and fall colours before Halloween?! I'M IN!

The cover itself is beautiful and engaging. It pulled my attention in immediately, but I'm biased with my Fall-loving sense.

This story introduces us to a little, happy Pumpkin who is in a field full of pumpkins who want to be big, mean and scary. Luckily, a small child doesn't want scary - he wants a friend! This story is so positive and brings to light (pun intended) all about being our best and brightest selves. It's so sweet! I highly recommend this adorable, little tale!

Four out of five stars.

A very cute Halloween book about how we live best when we are embracing how we are made. "Because we always shine our brightest when we are just who we are."

Sweet little book with pretty illustrations. My toddler really enjoyed it, and we liked the message that Halloween doesn't have to be scary to be enjoyed!

Super cute Halloween book perfect for getting little ones into the spirit of pumpkin picking season. Great book if you’re looking for a non-scary Halloween book.

This was the cutest and sweetest book I have read. I loved the story and especially the art. That brought the story to life. I will be getting this book for my little cousins for Halloween.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. The Happy Pumpkin likes to smile rather than have a scary face. As the other pumpkins are chosen Happy pumpkin is worried that he might not find a little kid to make happy.

Not every child loves dark nights and scary pumpkins. This short, but to the point, story brings the point that everyone is different and unique - and that is just fine. Great way to help kids overcoming fears about being different from others. This story and some parental reinforcement, helps towards reinforcing a child’s self-esteem.
I received an advanced reader copy for free from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
