It pains me when I can't finish a book but I'm learning to just give up. I read up to 50%.
A friends -to- lovers story. I liked the sound of the premise. I liked the idea of the Christmas playlist the hero made for the heroine. Unfortunately this one did not play out very well for me.
I concure this is not for me. Perhaps I'm the wrong age bracket for this type of love story. I just found the lovers too immature and the dialogue just not for me.
I was expecting a heartwarming Christmas story. There is not much Christmas to this story and it did not give me the warmth I crave for when reading these types of stories.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for granting me access to this Advance Reader Copy.

Nick and Noel have been best friends their entire lives. When Nick comes home after a deployment to find out his girlfriend has been cheating on him, Noel steps in as a fake girlfriend to make his ex (as well as the guy who just broke her heart) jealous. Only in the process of making them jealous, the lines between friendship and something more start to get blurry. The question is, are these feelings worth risking a lifelong friendship?
Most of the holiday books I’ve shared have been on the less steamy side. If you are someone who is looking for an open-door Christmas book, THIS IS THE ONE. This one is definitely at the top of my holiday reading list and was so much fun. There was a lot to love about this book, but my absolute favorite touch was the playlist in the back of the book - it had so many great songs that were referenced throughout the story and I want to listen to it.
Aside from the playlist, this was a fabulous best friends to lovers romance that felt so genuine. You could feel the chemistry between Nick and Noel and wanted them to figure it out, but their conflicts were so realistic. I appreciated that the struggle of wanting to be together yet not wanting to ruin their friendship was shown because that was so real. I loved their family and friends, who were some of the best side characters. This one was just so good!!
It looks like this is the first book in a series and I am so excited to see what else happens in Mistletoe!
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the advanced copy.

Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist had a cute friends to lovers premise but it felt like the relationship was extremely rushed especially with a main character that had a lot of growing up to do.
Nick gets home from the military and gets dumped by his long time on again off again girlfriend only to jump into a relationship with his best friend Noel.
Noel has her own issues to work through as she never really finished mourning the death of her parents ten years earlier. She also gets in several altercations with Nicks ex and resident mean girl, Amber. The girl fights seemed petty and also weirdly physical with a food fight that sounded like it was 12 year olds not 26 year old adults. .
I enjoyed the adorable town of Mistletoe, and the friends and family characters. Despite the name I was actually expecting more tie ins to music and playlists.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Someone said hallmark but they fk and I agree. I can totally see this being a Christmas movie on Netflix.
The plot of the story was decent but I felt like the characters were very flat and lacked developed/growth. In a sense I felt as if the main female lead, Noel went downhill. The book started off good but she got super frustrating in the second half which made me not want to continue, however I pushed through hoping she would get better. I was a little disappointed though.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and the author for an e-ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

A super cute friends-to-lovers trope with a wonderful array of side characters! So fun and fresh & a great holiday read!

Tis the season for holiday books! 🎄🎁
Christmas decorations are up, music is on and I’m obsessed with all of the cozy Christmas books!
Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist by @authorcodihall was the cutest! I loved the Hallmark movie feel of the friends to lovers trope (one of my favs!). Thank you @sourcebookscasa for my copy!

I cannot wait to get a print copy of this book! I love a good friends to lovers romance story . This is the first book in the Mistletoe Romance series and I cannot wait for the next one. I loved getting to know the characters in this book, it’s a delightful read. So many funny moments and a few things to make you reflect . It’s a perfect Christmas read fir anytime of the year.

This cute friends to lovers book has all the cozy Christmas vibes. It’s basically a Hallmark movie but add a little spice.
I loved Nick's character and mostly enjoyed Noel too. I found her immature at times which bothered me but the story was cute enough to set that aside.
Will I remember this one in a few months? Probably not but it was a great, light and fluffy Christmas read.

I did not like this book. The plot at it's bas was fine but for the delivery failed. The way the characters treat each other was so immature and felt like it was written by someone in high school. I'm sorry but it's 2021 you can't call a friend "a sissy" for putting effort into how the dress and don't get me started on the offhanded slut shaming.
Overall not my favourite did I still finish it? yes. I will be reading more of codi hall in the future to see if the was a fluke.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me an arc for an honest review.

I was late to reading this one but I just wasn't ready for Christmas! The good thing about this one is that it's not overly Christmas-y. There's a good balance. I mean of course it's there and it's cheesy but it's not as much as I expected. I loved the musical aspect of this book. I liked the friends-to-lovers aspect and the familial dynamic. The relationships were definitely the winning aspect of this book.
However, some parts felt a little juvenile (Noel) and there is some insta love going on here but the main characters have also been friends for a long time so I was able to look past it. I didn't love the Amber aspect of the book. Why oh why are we still having the "crazy ex-girlfriend" trope and pitting women against each other? I understand in some ways break ups don't always end well and some people really don't get along and all that is fine but I'm not sure. It didn't click with me.
It's definitely a cute Christmas romance and I'm glad I read it but this won't be a re-read from me.

This was available on audiobook last Christmas as an Audible Original, and I skipped it because the cover wasn’t cute. It was reissued as a “book” and the cover was much better, so I requested in on NetGalley. I ended up listening to the audiobook version anyway, and I was probably right to skip it to begin with. 🤷♀️ This was just too cheesy - like I guess I should have known to expect corny when the characters were name Nick and Noel. This was also a friends-to-lovers romance, and those are my least favorite. There is a crazy ex-girlfriend, the female lead is an orphan, a Christmas concert, forced proximity with neighboring apartments, insta-love by Christmas, etc. etc. It felt like the author threw a bunch of tropes out there and then added Christmas on top. It was just too unbelievable! (I did like that Nick was former military.) Anyways, there are better Christmas books.
Thanks to @NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for my ARC!

This book had all the festive feels, i loved the christmassy names of people and places and how it kept with the theme, with the town name and the Christmas tree farm. The story really made me smile and feel all warm inside, Nick and Noel were fabulous and all the minor characters too, Noel's found family (Nicks) was the sweetest, my favourite troupe in a book is found family and this is one of the best. This should definitely be added to everyone's December tbrs.

This was a cute friends-to-lovers holiday romance with a side of fake dating. The names were a bit over the top with the holiday references, but the story overall was fun with a some open door steam.
At times the “will they, won’t they” felt repetitive or drawn out, but I enjoyed the sweet moments between Nick and Noel and loved Nick’s family dynamics.
If you’re looking for a holiday read with a bit more on page romance than your Hallmark movies, pick this one up.

I am so happy that this was my first holiday read of 2021! It had all the elements that I love this time of year: friends to lovers trope, family drama, and an emotional twist. I loved how the chapters alternated between Nick and Noel's POV, and overall it was just a well written novel. There is some cheesiness but what holiday book or movie doesn’t have that?! I loved it, and I would recommend it to my holiday romance loving friends!

I am not really getting a Christmas vibe from this story at all. It is not what I was expecting at all and the characters are very hard to relate to. Not for me, unfortunately.

To be honest I’m a little torn on my opinion of this book. I thought it was sweet and fun and I loved Nick and Noel together. I really liked their friends and how they were all there for each other and really knew how to have fun. I did NOT like the whole Amber aspect of this story. It made me hate the parts of Nick that I loved and that was hard to reconcile. I suppose that was the point but, still not a fan. There were also moments of this book where both Nick and
Noel came off as immature, not silly or playful…immature. Overall though, I enjoyed the story and would feel okay recommending it.
*I received an ARC from NetGalley for honest review

Sweet Christmas book and it’s a series. I am so excited. This is a good palette cleanser. If you’ve just read a heavy book, read something like this and it will brighter you right up.

Nick & Noel’s Christmas Playlist had so much potential but it missed the mark for me. Don’t get me wrong, it was a perfectly fine book that I enjoyed, but I think it could have been so much more. There were a lot of times that Noel got on my nerves and a tad too much back and forth for my liking, but Nick and Noel had chemistry which I did enjoy. It was nice to read a solid friendship turn into something more as that is. trope I love. All in all I fun holiday read. Definitely one to get out of the library to get you ready for the holiday season. Oh and there is a solid playlist to the story, as if the title didn’t give that away.

This Christmas story just got remixed.
Nick Winter's Christmas at home is going nothing like he planned. What was supposed to be a memorable holiday with his long-time girlfriend goes sour when he learns she cheated on him while he was overseas. At least Nick can rely on his usual shift at the family Christmas tree farm with his best friend, Noel Carter, and her endless supply of Christmas tunes to lift his spirits. A night of fun together is just what he needs to forget about his ex.
But then they kiss. And it feels...so right.
If Noel can turn Nick's Blue Christmas merry and bright, this might be the last Christmas Nick spends with a broken heart. This year, they'll be Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree as a couple—as long as Nick's ex doesn't go standing under any mistletoe.
