A Wonderful Medieval Romance by Everley Gregg. Beverielle Buchanan is the illegitimate daughter Duke Philip and a tavern wench in Antwerp, the Duke & Duchess have brought her into their home, provided a sound education and helped her to make a “perfect” match to an Italian merchant. Beverielle’s marriage quickly leads to her becoming a widow which now allows her to follow her heart to her one true love, Sir Rhodidhe Keegan.
Although Beverielle and Rhodidhe encounter some obstacles in chasing their HEA, they do eventually get their happy ending. This story is full of captivating twists that keep the reader totally enthralled.
I highly recommend this story.

I like the excitement of the story and or plot. Keegan and Beverielle certainly was an interesting couple to read. I thought that it was a great idea to have Beverille’s character written as the traditional widow from that era. I liked that she was Feisty, she wasn’t shy and in control of her own actions. Keegan was very attracted to that side of her.
Keegan’s character was a man in charge, he was formed to lead, but his softer side was only revealed to Beverlielle. How Keegan’s character was written when he flirts with Bev was exciting, a little heated with steam and seductive. The story moved with the entertaining moments of the story. There are a few flamboyant wordings in the book, but I was able to relate the words to the sentence without difficulty. Keep words to the simplest form, helps the reader move along easily in the book as well as it leads the readers engaged in the story.
The action was well written. The characters were all written with great detail as well as their character was explained clearly to how they fit the purpose to the story.
The Healer and the Knight: A Medieval Romance
She became a widow, but his seed took root. Must she go to her late husband’s family? Does love between the knight and the widow stand a chance, or is it doomed from the beginning? Clan loyalties, treachery, and witchcraft play a part in this medieval romance. Beverielle and Ròidh must overcome seemingly unbeatable odds. If you like medieval romance with adventure and intrigue, you might like this story.
I received this book as an ARC through NetGalley. This story was delightful to read. I enjoyed the story of Bevvie and Keegan. Their love was long lost. It was a well done historical fiction romance. I did find some parts of the book a little hard to get through and I didn't like how the story was wrapped up as quickly as it was. Although, for the timeframe it was a believable outcome. I will read the first book of this set and hope to read the third book. You do not need to read the 1st one to read the 2nd.
Another good addition to the series. Bevvie is a very likable heroine as is Roidh as the hero. I love the premise of the books, illegitimate Duke's daughters raised as ladies by the cuckolded Duchess. A definite must-read.
Thank you Everley Gregg, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.
Much more enjoyable than the first book. Bevvie was an interesting character to follow and I found the storyline unique. Once again, I appreciate that the setting for this novel isn't Victorian. I found it rather refreshing as I also enjoy reading about the middle ages. I can tell that this is well researched, so props to that too. There is some fantastical aspects involved that let down the story a little for me? Still an enjoyable read though. Definitely will read some more of Gregg's books later on!
A wonderful story of a love found, even in the worst of times.
He was a knight for the Duke of Burgundy, but he had almost met his obligated five years and needed to go back to his clan in Scotland.
She was one of the duke's illegitimate daughters who had been cared for by the Duke's wife, Lady Isabella.
As the two met they had felt a connection, but circumstances did not bring them back together until fate seemed to intervene.
An amazing journey back in time with a believable characters who will win your heart!
I love the fact that Everley Gregg has written this series about Lady Isabella bringing her husband's, Duke Phillip, Illegitimate daughters into their home, helping to educate them, and then helping them when they find love.
This story is about Beverielle Buchanan who was the daughter of a tavern wench in Antwerp. Before she knows it, Duke Phillip marries her to an Italian merchant. Beverielle marries quickly, is quickly widowed, and is finally able to be with the man she loves. Scottish Knight Rhodidhe Keegan has been serving in Duke Phillip's army the last 4 1/2 years, and quickly noticed Beverielle when she joined the Duchess's household.
Beverielle and Rhodidhe encounter some obstacles to their HEA, especially when they return to Scotland.
I highly recommend this story. The many twists and turns in the story will definitely keep your attention.
The Knight and the Rose by Lillian Marek is another in the series about the illegitimate daughters of Duke Phillip III of Burgundy and his Duchess, Isabella, who tracks them down and brings them into her household so they can have better lives. This one centers around Beverielle Buchanan and Sir Roidh Keegan, a Scottish knight in service to the duke. He had noticed her before her marriage. She had been a last minute substitute when one of her half-sisters had run off with the man she loved. She cried all through the ceremony and hated every moment of her married life. Her husband had been killed saving the duke and his men and now Bevvie was stuck in mourning for a man she didn't love and really didn't know. Fate has decreed that the two belong together and through some manipulating by the duchess, they are wed and have run away to return to Scotland, where not everyone one is happy with their situation.
Both of these people are loyal, to a fault, and Bevvie, especially is suspicious of the woman who had been waiting for Keegan to return home to become laird and to marry her. He, of course, knew nothing of the arrangement his mother made until they arrived. It did not take long for his mother to see the bond between them, but Mariota MacDonald was not to be thwarted. She used magic and her knowledge of herbs to nearly kill Bevvie and trap Keegan into marriage. The story, although unlikely, was engrossing with Bevvie making friends wherever she went with her demeanor and he knowledge of healing. Keegan was a very special man, accepting her as she was and she loved him for it. This was a terrific read. I recommend it.
I was invited to read an e-ARC of The Knight and The Rose by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #theknightandtherose
Well researched with interesting insights into the era, I found this romance caught my attention from the opening chapter through to its dramatic conclusion. Beverielle becomes her father's pawn as he arranges her marriage and later her future when she is widowed. Fortunately, she has the support and concerned interest of the Duke of Burgundy's wife, namely Lady Isabella, who has her own way of working around the Duke's mechanicians. After her husband's brutal death, Beverielle immerses herself in gaining knowledge about healing, but unfortunately, the role of healers is often met with suspicion. She finds in Sir Keegan a man who not only loves her but will protect her with his life. However, taking on a wife who is pregnant with another man's child is perhaps more than she can expect from him. Although this story is part of a series, it is a standalone and comes to a beautiful conclusion, one that made me smile. I received a copy of this novel as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
First I loved the cover of this book . The story is about a young girl who is the bastard daughter of the Duke Philip and a Scottish lady and a Scottish Knight . They fell in love but she was to marry an other man . When she became widow she was able to be with the man she wanted . When they arrived to Scotland they were some people who did not approve of their love and tried to separate them . The story make me laugh and tear up . I will for sure read more from the writer .
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sweet and enjoyable romance.
French and Scottish backgrounds for these two lovers.
After an arranged marriage our Lady is left a widow and pregnant, but will the man, a Scottish Knight, who has her heart still want her, when she finds him there is more than that to consider, the road is not as smooth as they would like.
This was an enjoyable read, one that I found held my interest and was a great adventure.
Everly is fairly new to me as an author, I hope to read more from her.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post a review
In the Fifteenth Century, Duke Philips wife Isabella takes under her wing his daughters that he conceived with other women throughout his life. One of his daughters was Beverielle Buchanan. Her mother was from the Clan Buchanan of Scotland, but was stolen as she was going to the convent for education.
Beverielle was wedded to an Italian merchant that she had no feelings for but he was later killed. She was always attracted to the Scottish Knight Roidh Keegan , but she was praying that after her mourning period she would be approached by the good Knight.
Things don’t always happen the way you think they should and this pair are about to embark on a venture that will make anyone turn around and run for the hills!
The author does a superb job in being descriptive of the characters and the Plotline, if there could have been more action between the actual clans fighting it would have been more action packed.
This is a good summer read.
I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.
