Within the first chapter I had said out loud "I feel like I'm reading a stinking hallmark movie" well then I looked and noticed that it is by Hallmark. Very fitting.
By the 16th chapter I was drawn in, like all Hallmark movies, and even caught myself "aww"ing at some things. The story was good, and loved the parallels of the people in it. But to me the story got really good toward the end and I would have liked it to keep going or at least have an epilogue to tell more about them. I felt like it never really got deep into the other characters other than the main girl. I would have liked to know more about the queen, the best friend, and the princes best friend/body guard. The descriptions were very detailed when about the park and rides. Some parts though it got too deep into telling little things and I felt like the book slowed down like an exit to a theme park ride.
Also loved the narrator. I recognized her voice from The Crown -Keirra Cass series. She fits so well.

Once Upon a Royal Summer was the exact book I needed to jumpstart my own summer plans! I adored this book. It was such a fun read from beginning to end. I listened while I exercised, did dishes and laundry, and drove my kids around--feeling like I was watching a Hallmark movie the entire time.
The premise hooked me right from the beginning--a theme park princess falling for a real-life prince. Maybe it's the part of me that's missing Disneyland, or the part of me that is never too old to love a fairy tale, but I think I smiled the entire time I was listening to this. Lacey is delightful and sweet, and she is so easy to root for. I loved Henry (grumpy hat and all) from the moment he waltzed with Lacey at the princess party ball.
This one is appropriate for all audiences and ages, and is perfect for a little summer, escape-the-heat, poolside reading.

Lacey is currently working her dream job as a Royal Princess at a popular Florida theme park where she gets to bring smiles and laughter to children every day. Unfortunately, her ex-boyfriend was less than supportive of her job, so she is still looking for her very own Prince Charming. Imagine her surprise when a real Prince and his daughter show up at her theme park! After escorting them around the park, Lacey falls fully in love with the young Princess and is well on her way to falling in love with Prince Henry.
You will love this book if…
- …you are looking for something fun to read and heavy on the cheesy factor. This is a Hallmark book, which means that it’s a bit fluffy and formulaic - but it’s perfect when you want a quick escape into a fantasy world!
- …you enjoy the commoner/Royals trope… this one is complete with a trip to a real royal palace, and a tough to win over Queen mother!
This is definitely a novel that requires a bit of suspension of disbelief (the total timeline is under 2 weeks for a complete love story!) but if you set your expectations to light and fun, you’ll have an enjoyable read.

This was the perfect Hallmark summer story. I loved the audio. The narrator did an excellent job.
Heartbreak. Romance. A single dad who happens to be a prince... of course we already know what is going to happen but I enjoyed this story anyways. It kept my attention and I would have finished listening in a day if it weren't for needing sleep.
Definitely will be recommending this to friend for an easy summer romance read.

I enjoyed everything about this book! Lacey is a sweet, romantic girl who just wants to bring a smile to others. She was deeply touched by a princess when she was young and wants to continue on in that same vein. She realizes how important this is to her as her boyfriend is challenging her to grow up and start doing an adult career. Henry, an actual prince, wants to provide some normalcy for his daughter’s birthday. Rose becomes quite taken with Lacey and it doesn’t take Henry long to realize why. I loved all the developments to bring Lacey and Henry together in true Hallmark fashion. Terri Wilson masterfully engages the heart and fills it with love, joy, and happiness. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Brittany Pressley, and thoroughly enjoyed her voices, ability to convey tone and bring the story to life with her telling the tale.
I received a complimentary audio copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

This is the story every grown up little girl with princess dreams needs to read.
I loved the way that Lacey's story unfolded and learning about what made her want to work as a theme park princess. In the beginning of the story when her soon-to-be fiancé was not supportive of her princess job, I liked that Lacey didn't quit to appease his picture of what made a "real job" but instead realized that this wasn't the man for her.
Rose was absolutely the most adorable child and her father, Henry was swoon worthy. I enjoyed the banter between Lacey and Henry and how he did not make fun of her being a theme park princess even though he was a real life prince.
Listening to this as an audiobook made it even more enjoyable. I could really picture Lacey in her happy cotton candy gown and bubbly personality. I want more stories just like this one.

*4.5
Lacey is a theme park princess who loves her job and adores working with children. After a recent break up, she knows her life isn’t a real fairytale, but until she figures out what she wants to do, why can’t she spend her time living this fantasy as Princess Sweet Pea and bringing happiness to children who visit the Once Upon a Time amusement park!?
Prince Henry is on vacation with his daughter Princess Rose trying to let her have somewhat of a normal childhood. Lacey’s boss proposes that she be the Henry and Rose’s special tour guide throughout their stay. After spending so much time with them Lacey starts to develop feeling for the prince. Can a real life prince fall in love with a theme park princess?
What a fun read! I had the opportunity to listen to the audio of this story and the narrator was FANTASTIC. She did such a wonderful job with the characters voices and the transitions between them were flawless. It was such a quick and easy listen.
This was a great Hallmark feel good royal romance that I recommend if you are looking for something quick and sweet for a summer read!
*Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an early recording of this audiobook. All opinions are my own.

Disney fairytale meets Hallmark romance in Once Upon a Royal Summer by Teri Wilson. Lacey has played the role of Princess Sweet Pea at Once Upon a Time theme park for years. She adores her job but unfortunately, her lover refuses to acknowledge the validity of her job and leaves her.
Shortly after, the Prince and Princess of Bella-Moritz waltz in with the dream of being regular people for a change. The Prince, Henry, lost his wife a few years ago and required a change for both him and his daughter for a few short days. They meet Lacey at Once Upon a Time’s tea party and immediately connection is made. , whether either party realizes it or not. When Henry invites Lacey back to Bella-Moritz after the trip concludes, a magical adventure ensures. Who wouldn’t want to fall in love with either main character and their fairy tale magic?
Once Upon a Royal Summer is a tale with likable characters, imaginative settings and happily ever afters. The story has a big emphasis on friendship, family and getting back on your feet. This story had me smiling and anticipating the best for both characters. True to Hallmark form, this is an tale that readers will not want to miss. The audio was just as fun and the narrator nailed the tones of the little princess and Lacey. I will be sure to plug this audio in again in a few years.

Rose is a real life princess. Having lost her mother at a young age, she is having some difficulty recently on the edge of her seventh birthday. Her father, HRH Henry, decides to take her on a holiday to America. There he schedules a four day trip to an amusement park built around fairy tales. Lacey, aka Princess Sweet Pea, is assigned to be their tour guide over the duration of their stay. Sparks fly between Lacey and Henry.
Opinion
I listened to the audiobook and was enraptured. This story is completely magical and the ideal fairy tale for adults who loved them as a child. The sweet, slow romance between Henry and Lacey is adorable. This book will allow a time travel back to childhood.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook.

Perfect way to start summer with a new story featuring a royal romances. Once Upon A Royal Summer by Teri Wilson is very enjoyable. The story will take you to a theme park where the main character, Lacey has the best job being a royal princess. She meets her real prince and his daughter at the princess tea. The story has all the elements, you will laugh, enjoy all the characters, royal balls and travel. Huge thanks to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for allowing me to listen and review this book.

This book has everything you want in a hallmark movie. Wholesome characters, a dashing love interest, and a slow burn.
This a good quick read for an airplane, beach day, or just a pick me up if you’re ever feeling bad. I always love a good royalty book.

Lacey plays a princess in a theme park and loves bringing happiness to children, but her ex-boyfriend never understood the big dresses, glitter, and tiara. Henry is a real-life prince and widower who wants to make his daughter’s birthday special. When he takes her to Once Upon a Time, he doesn’t expect to find a spark with a make-believe princess. Will their chance encounter lead to Happily Ever After?
This was a perfect summer romance. Lacey and Henry were endearing leads and I loved both of their perspectives. Rose was adorable and the other secondary characters were so much fun, especially Ian and Ava. The settings were picturesque and I really wish there was a fairytale theme park like Once Upon a Time! The story was everything you would expect from Hallmark—heartwarming and sweet. I loved the writing and will definitely be reading more of Teri Wilson’s work.
Brittany Pressley was a flawless narrator. Her voices were varied and fitting for each character. Her cadence was pleasant and engaging and had me imagining the story as if I was watching a Hallmark movie.
If you’re looking for a delightful summer romance, make sure to read this novel which will be released tomorrow!
Thank you to NetGalley, Teri Wilson, Hallmark Publishing, and Dreamscape Media for providing this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I lost my heart but I found my smile. Wilson pulled me into a confection of sweetness sprinkled with a hint of spice. Poignant, humorous and irresistible come together to create a savory story of heartache and hope. Once Upon a Royal Summer speaks to the dreamer that lives inside of every heart and soul.

I thought maybe this book would be a little cheesy, but I genuinely loved it so much. I love royal romances and Hallmark stories. They are upbeat and a lot of fun. I listened to this book in audio. I thought the narrator did a great job. I had no issues with her voice. The heroine, Lacey, loves her job as a royal princes at a theme park. She loves her job. At the beginning of the book, she breaks up with her boyfriend because he wants her to get a different job. The hero is a real widowed prince with a 6 year old daughter. He takes his daughter to the theme park to give her a little sense of what it's like to be a real kid. The H/h meet at the princess tea. This is a sweet, fairly predictable romance, but that's what makes it so great. If you are looking for a fun afternoon read or listen, choose this one. Huge thanks to Netgalley and Hallmark Publishing for allowing me to listen and review this book.

Lacey and Henry's story is the perfect summer romance read! loved the characters , magical fairytale turned real life .Fun to follow along , loved Lacey's day job , so fun to go along this journey with these characters .

I received an arc of this title in exchange for an honest review. This book is absolutely adorable. I hope they eventually make it a movie on hallmark because it's that cute. Lacey works as a princess for a theme park where she happens to meet a real prince and gets to spend several days showing him and his daughter around the theme park where they fall in love. This is very much a fairytale romance book and it's worth the read. It's a quick read full of happy squeals and cute interactions. A dream come true.

Once Upon A Royal Summer is a playful twist on the old fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea. I listened to, rather than read this book. Brittany Pressley’s narration brought the story to life.
Lacey Pope is living her dream job! She is Princess Sweet-Pea at the Once Upon a Time amusement park outside of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. While this is a dream come true, her boyfriend thinks it is beneath them and when he insists she leave this job they have a parting of the ways with him making parting shots telling her that no Prince Charming will come in on his white horse to change her life.
Within a few days, Lacey is portraying her Princess for the castle tea party when she encounters a single dad and his adorable daughter. They seem to challenge each other at every opportunity, including when Lacey challenges him to the final waltz at her castle. Lacey is very surprised when he is not only capable but he excels at the waltz. It isn’t until the following day that Lacey discovers he is the actual Prince Henry, his daughter Princess Rose, from the principality of Bella-Moritz on the Mediterranean coast, when she is appointed to be the royal family’s guide at Once Upon a Time for their stay.
This is a delightful story that will take the reader on a ride straddling reality and fairy tales. The characters are charming, the surroundings lovely, and the story filled with smiles. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

This is a really cute sweet romance. No matter how cliche the Royal + commoner/Cinderella storyline is = I always love it and it makes me smile. I was immersed into the fairytale world that Wilson created.
🛀👑
Lacey works as a princess in a fairytale theme park. The hours and days go by fast but it brings her immense joy seeing children’s faces light up with whimsical wonderment. Recently dumped, Lacey doesn’t know what her future holds as her ex reminded her that she’ll “age out” of being a park princess. But she doesn’t have time to think on it as a special VIP comes and her boss has Lacey give the VIP a personal park tour over the days.
🛀☝️
I loved Rose and Henry and even Henry’s mom the Queen. I loved all the references to common fairytale stories.
🛀👑
This book releases in 2 days and I can definitely see Hallmark make a movie of it and they they do - I am there! Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for a copy of the audiobook. The narrator did a great job with the different voices and accents.

Once Upon a Royal Summer, by Teri Wilson, is this summer’s Cinderella story. Literally.
Oh, how I wish it were so easy. But, since it’s not, I’ll take a break from reality and enjoy this Cinderella.
Lacey, a genuine and sweet, motherless 20-something Florida maiden, is the star of the show as she plays the part of Princess Sweet Pea at her hometown Florida theme park, Once Upon a Time.
Hosting princess tea parties, dancing with fake Prince Charmings, and wandering the theme park in search of special fairy tale-loving boys and girls fulfills Lacey’s desire to soothe her still-grieving inner child. And Lacey’s life is bouncing along just fine until she breaks off her long-term relationship with her now former boyfriend/fiance and finds herself entertaining an adorable girl named Rose, who came to Once Upon a Time to celebrate her seventh birthday.
While Lacey thinks she is teaching young Rose how to be a princess by loving butterflies and showing kindness, she is oblivious that Rose is a real princess. And her father, gorgeous, widowed (of course), and sitting close by with a sarcastic grin on his face, Grumpy Ballcap, is watching as Lacey proceeds with her roleplay.
When it’s time for Princess Sweet Pea’s Royal Tea Party ballroom waltz, Lacey moves through her script and looks for a potential dance partner. Furious with Rose’s good-looking dad, Lacey decides to teach Grumpy Ballcap a royal lesson by asking him to waltz the floor while other tea party participants watch.
The moment their hands clasp, a new relationship is bound, and Lacey is connected to her real Prince Charming, who happens to be the actual prince of the small European country of Bella-Moritz.
Well, guess what happens next? This is a Hallmark Publishing Audiobook. (Available in paperback and electronic versions.)
Once Upon a Royal Summer is a mix of the actual fairytale, Princess and the Pea, Cinderella, and the popular movie, Princess Diaries. It is formulaic and predictable. A widowed prince brings his daughter to America looking for a break from his royal duties and finds the last thing he thought he wanted, a princess with which to spend the rest of his life.
At the end of his vacation, he invites Lacey and her bestie, who plays Little Red Riding Hood, back to Bella-Moritz to meet the family – who, of course, have an issue with a theme park princess capturing the heart of their royal heir.
I remember the day I sat in a Barstow, California movie theater and watched Princess Diaries for the first time. It was a hot, stressful day full of nasty people doing nasty things. But, sitting in that cool theater seat, eating Milk Duds, and watching that ridiculously unbelievable story unfold was just what I needed to relieve that intense unhappy moment.
Once Upon a Royal Summer offers the same stress release. On audiobook, it’s a great listen-to while on a long vacation trip with the kids. The kids would love this. So would the dog. But be warned. I’m not guaranteeing your own prince charming would find this fun escape story entertaining.
But that’s okay. Your Grumpy Ballcap can just look out the window at the scenery, or better yet, he can drive.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the arc.
I knew I was going to just love this book and I did!! I really enjoyed her other book, The Accidental beauty queen and I was hoping this would be as good. I am thankful to say it is just as good as the other and I couldn't put it down! I love cute, funny romance books like this! I can't wait for another book from Teri Wilson!
