While I loved the characters - Grace and Noah are well drawn out and lovable - I really struggled with the pacing. The whole second half of the book dragged to me, and I found myself skipping forward.

Letting the characters finally get together around 60 percent in the story means that you need to tear them apart a bit again and again. I'm just personally not a HUGE fan of big back and forths. It's just a personal preference.

I haven't read this author's first book, but I can tell she's a talented writer, so I'm ready to read her first book (which I just realized has two characters that appear in this one!!)

There are SO MANY amazing romances out right now, so I'll also say the bar is very high.

What a super cute, humorous love story. I always tend to read humorous romance novels after I read thrillers. I feel as if they're palate cleansers for the brain and the mind's eye. This story did exactly what I wanted it to do and almost got me in trouble as I would inadvertently laugh out loud while my husband slept next to me. So, fair warning, you might get in trouble for laughing if you read it in bed and your partner is trying to sleep next to you!

I value the opportunity I was given to read this in advance, but it has been three years and I still haven't read this. With so many books ahead of me, I cannot return to this title.

How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan is a charming and lighthearted romantic comedy that follows the unlikely romance between two neighbors, Poppy and Sam. Poppy, a quirky and sweet woman, is determined to avoid relationships after past heartbreak, while Sam, her grumpy but endearing neighbor, seems to have his own emotional baggage. As they spend more time together, sparks fly, and they learn to overcome their fears and open up to love. Sullivan’s writing is witty, warm, and full of chemistry, making this a perfect read for fans of cozy, feel-good romances with relatable characters.

I deeply wish I knew that this book was the second in a series. Which, if I had read the disclaimer better I may have been better prepared for. Overall, this story was a little meh for me. I didn't like the MMC, he came across rude and condescending. While I think occasionally this attitude can work, I don't think a contemporary romance is the place for it. No amount of groveling will fix his errors, and I didn't want to finish the book.

With the rules for being neighborly going out the window, Grace and Noah are in an all-out feud. But sometimes, your nemesis can show you that home is always where the heart is.

This book has been on my Netgalley for a bit and I haven’t picked it up. I haven’t been into romance in a minute, so I’m not the right person to review it anymore.

3.5 stars

A cute story about coming into your own while also finding love. Noah and Grace are neighbors who find they can help each other's careers by working together, but their connection goes much deeper than that. I thought they were well matched and the relationship development was nicely paced. The story overall was a good read, but was a like not a love.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I just unfortunately didn't finish thie one. It read similarly to another one I recently read and I couldn't distinguish it, so letting it go.

This was definitely a cover pick. Right away I knew I was going to get a cute, funny enemy-to-lovers story. I didn't even realize it was connected to another rom-com, Ten Rules for Faking It. Thankfully, I'd already read it, lol, I've done that more often than I want to admit. Especially with these interconnected romance series. If you've read Ten Rules for Faking It, then you'll be happy to see Chris and Everly in this one. You don't have to read the first one in order to enjoy How to Love Your Neighbor.

The two characters, Noah and Grace, clash almost from the very beginning, they're both very stubborn as all hell and both have the burden of having a shitty parent. Pushed together due to a magazine interview, the tension rises and rises between them. I'm talking edge of the seat, why don't you just kiss each other already, tension.

Expect a lighthearted, cute and funny story with high chemistry. I don't read too many closed-door romances but I enjoyed this one.
<Spoilers ahead> I did think both Noah and Grace were possibly too stubborn. I spent some time annoyed with both of them. Also, the huge chip that Noah had on his shoulder about his dad and how people kept treated him like he was unreliable, or a joke felt repetitive. Maybe I was too harsh on Noah (I had some strong thoughts about him for a bit) but I was done with the whole situation. Especially knowing how determined he was to prove everyone wrong. There were some funny and super sweet parts and outside of the suspicious way Grace's schooling was set up (there's no way it works like this) Grace was very relatable. Like super relatable and we'd be here another 15 min if I went into why.

All in all, a good book to escape into.

Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, enemy-to-lovers, neighbors, closed door

The chemistry between the two was not there for me. The story did not do much for me. I kept at it hoping things would turn around and get better and it never hit the point. I felt that the writing was very basic and maybe that is me being picky but it did bother me for whatever reason.

I really enjoyed Grace and Noah's story. I love friends to lovers romances and this one was well-written. The characters were likable and the story was well-paced. There was *something* missing for me and that's why it is 4 stars instead of 5.

I really liked parts of this book. I like remodeling and interior design so those parts of the story were interesting. The banter between the characters started great after they realized they really didn't like each other AND they were next door neighbors. But, once they started to be into each other, there was a lot of mush gushy talk and it seemed like just chapters worth of feelings and what they were afraid of. Overall, they were a cut couple but the story line fell after the second half of the book.

Thanks NetGalley for the preview!

Grace was a strong female and had a lot of great qualities. I feel like a lot of her family baggage was left unfinished even at the end of the book. Noah also had a lot of family baggage that never gets resolved. Overall that part really bothered me. It made me feel like the wool was being pulled over my eyes and I was just supposed to focus on the romance parts. I was hoping for more substance and growth from these characters.

You can never go wrong with a grumpy/sunshine, enemies-to-lovers romance! I do wish the rivalry had lasted a little longer and that there was more grumpiness to build more tension, but otherwise this was a cute read. The home renovation aspects were fun. The side characters and found family were heart warming. They were probably my favorite part of the story! The HEA was sweet and I loved how Grace and Noah grew together as people. Overall, it was a decent read! Definitely a good palate cleanser after an intense fantasy read.

A romance that actually has some serious romantic vibes. It's her house ans she be darned if he can scare her off. He wants what he wants but too late realizes that what he really wants is more than a piece of property. Smiles, giggles and more than one awww moment.
