I really enjoyed this book. Yeah, it had a few cheesy parts but cheesy can be good. I loved the characters (well, except for Grace's mom) and the relationship between Grace and Noah. And I loved Grace's spunk! This is just the kind of book I needed to read right now...a charming, funny, romantic read. Loved it!

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the review copy.

I gotta say, sunshine herione + grumpy hero = my catnip. I enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers romcom so much. It was fun and interesting and I absolutely fell in love with Grace and Noah. I didn't wanna put the book down....after all, who needs to eat or sleep?

Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

I love romances. I especially the classic enemy to lovers and next door neighbor tropes. How to Love Your Neighbor has both of these plus an HGTV vibe that I can’t get enough of. There’s also just the right amount of steam to keep things interesting. I loved it!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Such a cute romance! I love rom coms and this did not disappoint! The writing was swoony and made my heart flutter. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes to read so this is another good one in that category. Read it!! You’ll love it!

This is the first book I've read by Sophie Sullivan. I've got to say I enjoyed it. The book is well-written. It's an engaging enemies to friends to lovers romance, with real feeling characters who have believable struggles. There is enough humour in the plot to be fun without begin trite. The story flows well as main characters find their way to true love. It's a light, all round enjoyable read.

This book was a very nice fluffy romance book! A sunshine meets grumpy trope that I seriously cannot get enough of! It is a heartwarming and humorous story that has nice developped characters.

Grace, a design student in her mid-twenties that is struggling to make her ends meet moves to her grandparents house - which she had just inherited. Problem is, her new (and very very handsome) neighbor wants to buy her house to extend his own property. Grace does not wish to sell her house, but her neighbor is determined to win.

As their feud continues, chemistry develops between the two. Can both parties stay professional or are spark flying a bit too high?

This book was an absolute pleasure to read. It has a lot of my favourite tropes in it. More than that, this book is not only a romance book, but it deals with very real issues that both characters have which elevates the plot and overall story of the book. Overall I would give this book 4/5 stars. Worth the read!

Special thanks to NetGalley for sharing this digital copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

What an absolutely wonder story! This is my first boo by Sophie Sullivan and I enjoyed every minute of it. Slow build romance, and it was done expertly. This ended perfectly and I'm hoping will be the start of a series, quite a few characters in this book need to have their stories told.

How to Love Your Neighbor - Sophie Sullivan

Fiction/Romance, 351 Pages

Grace Travis is an interior design student who recently inherited her grandparents' small house on the coast of southern California. As she wraps up her studies, Grace is excited to renovate the house and start her career. Her neighbor, Noah, however, has another idea: he wants to buy Grace's house. During the times that Grace and Noah spar they also get to know each other, participating in painting challenges in their respective homes and meeting each other's friends and family. Their hate, as is expected in the "enemies to lovers" romance trope, quickly develops into a relationship at the same time that a home design magazine decides to run a feature on Noah's house renovations and encourages Noah to pick Grace as the interior designer in order to pad the story-line. How to Love Your Neighbor is a fun rom com, but not one with much substance. The characters were endearing, but I found the first half of the book a bit repetitive and boring. It also felt like everything in the book happened too quickly - from the speed of the completion of the renovations to the intensity reached by multiple relationships in such a short span of time. Overall, this book was light and enjoyable but maybe not the best in its genre.

Rating: 6/10

I just finished a book that combines two things I love to read about and/or watch: home renovations and romance. If you’re a fan of next door neighbor and/or rivals-to-lovers romances, How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan is the perfect lighthearted read to add to your TBR list!

The story follows two neighbors, Grace and Noah, who become enemies while renovating their beachfront properties, only to find themselves working together on a significant career opportunity. What starts as a mission for Noah to buy Grace’s house turns into a challenge for Grace to transform Noah’s house one room at a time. Sparks fly as they work together, navigating the line between business and pleasure, with plenty of bickering and flirty banter along the way.

With a narrative that’s fun, humorous, and light on angst, a closed door romance that’s sweet and swoon-worthy, and characters that are charming, eclectic, and endearing, How to Love Your Neighbor is a quick, entertaining read. I devoured the audiobook over the weekend, enjoying the bubbly, upbeat narration of Chloe Dolandis. This is my first book by Sophie Sullivan but it definitely won’t be my last!

Special thanks to the publisher for the complimentary paperback and review copy!

A very cute book with a great concept. It didn’t really pull me in like I had hoped but I’d definitely read more books by this author. I love a good enemies to lovers and even more a close
/forced proximity romance.

Grace Travis has recently inherited a little house on Harlow Beach, California from her grandparents. She will soon graduate from Design School and cannot wait to move into the house. She has been renting a room from an older man named Morty while also helping him as he’s had problems with his hip. To support herself, Grace works in a coffee shop and walks dogs, plus any other thing she can do to make a little money.

When she moves into her house, Grace meets her next door neighbor Noah Jansen. He immediately tells her he wants to buy her house. Noah is from a very wealthy family and he enjoys buying properties, some of which he later sells. He wants her house to expand the yard of his property to include a pool. She refuses.

They continue to encounter one another in their yards with little complaints from Noah saying Grace needs to help him repair and paint his fence. This is when their back and forth begins. They are attracted to one another but don’t know how to get along.

And this is when this book started to lose me. I had read so much hype about this book and couldn’t wait to read it. The more I read the more I was disappointed. So many scenes between Noah and Grace were juvenile and the entire book was vanilla and literally boring. I liked Morty because he was such a sweet man who truly cared about Grace’s welfare. I feel bad leaving a bad review because I love St. Martin’s Press and their books are always so good.

Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

How to Love Your Neighbor is a sweet and fun enemies to lovers romcom but make it DIY. Grace Travis is an interior design student who just inherited her grandparents house and make it her own. Grace didn’t have a great relationship with her mother growing up and because of that she never really had a place to call home… until now. With everything starting to work in her favor (school, jobs, house) she’s content until her new neighbor Noah Jensen tries to buy her new home. Noah is trying to prove to himself and those around him that he’s not the playboy he seems. He’s left behind everything he knows in his old life (minus his brothers) and found a place to call home in sunny California… but wasn’t expecting Grace. They make a deal and so the show begins.

I really enjoyed the character building in this book. The way the relationship between Noah and Grace grows naturally throughout the book is perfection. Sometimes with enemies to lovers its like no, no, no, no, bam… I love them but with Grace and Noah its more like, nope, meh, maybe not so bad, ok ok I get see you, love.

Did I like this book? yes.
Did I read the first book? I did not and I wasn’t lost. It’s a standalone in a series which I love.
Will I read the next book? maybe. Probably eventually.
Will I recommend this book/series? Absolutely
stars? the first part hooked me but after about half way it took me another month to read so 3.5 but I'll round up for the cute cover and give it 4

How to Love Your Neighbor had me chuckling throughout Grace’s and Noah’s romantic adventure from a rocky start to their happily ever after ending. They might have had very dissimilar experiences growing up but the one thing they do share from the start is their respective dysfunctional parents and their expectations of their children.

Grace has pulled herself out of her past with hard work, a strength that she doesn’t give herself enough credit for, and an inherited piece of property from her grandparents. This house, although it needs a lot of work, is her haven and no fast-talking, sexy yet grumpy man is going to take it away from her. Not happening, Noah!

Noah has set out to separate himself from his father and his business ethics. It takes a move away from home for Noah to find the solitude and the peace to begin over again on his terms. Now if only the cute, stubborn lady next door would sell her rundown property to him so he could expand his property life would be almost perfect.

How to Love Your Neighbor is full of unique characters of all ages, each will fill a space in either Grace’s or Noah’s lives. I went from wanting to give some people a good shaking or at the least a stern talking to, all the way to a swoon-worthy, laughter-filled romance between two very stubborn folks who were (in spite of it all) simply perfect for each other. I had fun here, and if you love a charming, sort of enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy… then this is the perfect fit for you as well.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I'm on a romcom kick this month and 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗡𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗕𝗢𝗥 by Sophie Sullivan didn't disappoint! Grace and Noah have great chemistry and I was all in on following their real estate projects.

Pick this one up if you love:
☀️Grump-meets-sunshine
🔨Home reno shows
🚪Closed door love scenes
👴🏻Adorable curmudgeons
😢Complicated family relationships
👫🏻Multiple POVS

This book is the sequel to 𝗧𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘁 and totally works as a stand alone, but I'll be going back to read the first one to see how Noah's brother, Chris, and his girlfriend, Everly, fell in love. Fingers crossed there's a third that tells us more about their other brother, Wes!

Thanks o St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the copy to review.

Okay I’m learning that I’m a sucker for a grumpy + sunshine couple, throw in an enemy to lover plot with it and I’m done for. 😂 I loved how Grace and Noah could not stay away from each other because they loved the same thing and how everyone but them knew how they felt, except them. 😂

I did not know this was part of a series and now I need to read the first one.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this one. I loved every character (Morty OMG) and felt genuinely invested in Noah and Grace’s relationship. I will say the slow burn was just the right amount of time…. But the closed doors killed me! In all seriousness the ending made me go “aww” and it warmed my heart to read.

As predicted in the title, Noah and Grace fall in love. There is a little drama with Noah’s father/family and Grace’s mom, but nothing big. I didn’t get a lot of chemistry between Noah and Grace. I also thought that they oversold the decorating aspect of the story.

How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan was a fun and charming read. Grace and Noah had great banter and interactions even as they warred with each other. Grace inherited her grandparents’ house and is excited to make it her home. Noah lives in the house next door and is determined to buy Grace out, for a pool. Grace is very determined and Noah is stubborn and yet their connection was undeniable. The sparks definitely flew between them. An entertaining read for sure.

Happy reading!
