Unfortunately I could not get into this romance. The characters were unappealing and the storyline rather flat. Just not as the rom com I was expecting.

I would definitely be recommending this book to readers on my Instagram bookstagram account.
Each are skeptical of love due to their parents own love lives, the two aren't looking to settle down. She doesn't want to lose herself in a man, and he is too afraid he's turning out to be like his father to allow himself to love. While they tended to butt heads in the beginning, after being pushed to work together their eyes are opened to not only love, but to appreciate their differences. This story is all about creating/finding your 'home,' and what all that entails. The characters are both strong people who don't always recognize their weaknesses, but are constantly trying to improve themselves. It's not necessarily a sweet romance, but it's not overly dramatic. There are some humorous moments, but I wouldn't classify this as a Rom Com. It is on the clean side (closed bedroom doors.) It's a bit of a slow burn, and it isn't until near the end that they realize what they are feeling towards each other. It did seem to run on the longer side. (There were bits I felt could have been left out without compromising the story.) It alternates between POVs.
*I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley.
Grace is finishing up her design degree and is anxious to begin redoing the house her grandparents left her. Her neighbor, Noah, really wants to buy her house and add a pool to his already larger property. The house is not for sale. Noah, the rich and powerful business man who grew up privileged, desperately wants to get out of the shadows of his vindictive father. Grace, who grew up poor, with a mother who never seemed to love Grace, wants to rid herself of her mother who constantly asks for money and declares the grandparent’s house belongs to her. This is a great book about finding family in those who love and support you, and trusting in the people who care for you. The bantering between Grace and Noah is fun and adds to their character. When Grace is chosen to make over Noah’s house for a distinguished magazine, the two are forced to spend time together and really understand each other. Loved this book and the messages it imparts.

I enjoyed this. It's solidly enjoyable. The characters are clearly defined, the pacing is good, the plot is predictable without being boring. But it's a story that has been told before and this one isn't unique. Sure, there are elements that are new but there wasn't a spark that kept me hooked. I was able to put this one down when I needed to do other things.
This is a good bit of fluff A palate-cleanser, if you will. I'd recommend this as some mental sorbet between heavier reads.
What can I say...I'm so upset that book ended! I wanted to continue reading about Noah and Grace. This should tell you how invested I am with these characters and what wonderful work Sophie Sullivan sis in creating them. If you were a fan of her first book, Ten Rules for Faking It, then you'll her second just as much (maybe even more). Who doesn't love an enemy neighbor who is positively attractive turn lover story?? Both Grace and Noah has this undeniable attraction for one another and both want to set out on their own path....who knew that they path will cross one another. I don't want to give too much away, but trust me when I say I was not disappointed when reading this book and did not want it to end. I can't wait to see what else Sophie Sullivan has in store for us next.
I loved reading Ten Rules for Faking It and I’ve been so excited for Noah’s story. It was everything I hoped it would be and I couldn’t get enough.
Noah is trying to buy Grace’s house. Grace is not having it. The witty back and forth between these two was fantastic. They had such great chemistry. It felt like such a good enemies-to-lovers. Both denying their feelings as much as the could.
The interior design/renovation aspect felt like a breath of fresh air and a unique addition to this romance. Also, Morty was is my new favorite grumpy grandma-figure! Definitely add this to your TBR.

I love a good "enemies to lovers" rom-com and How to Love Your Neighbor certainly did not disappoint. I heard fantastic things about Sophie's first book, but never got around to reading it, but after reading her latest, I can't wait!
How to Love Your Neighbor is filled with house renovations (oh hey all you HGTV lovers!), annoying neighbors (you can feel the chemistry between them immediately), a little bit of drama, a beautiful backdrop, and more! I really loved Grace's character and her no-nonsense, go get-'em attitude.
It did start a teeny tiny bit slow for me, slower than I typically like my rom-com's too, but it didn't last long and I was fully invested before I knew it.
Definitely recommend this great, feel-good book!
4/5 stars!
Thank you St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.
A quaint story about self discovery and growth, especially when you find the right person journey with you.
Gushy and sweet.

There are some tropes that make it guaranteed you are going to fall for the story. The traditional neighbor-next-door with the love/hate twist is one of those tropes for me. You already know what is coming and the fact we get a happily ever after is the icing too. Getting there is the main story.
Sometimes it take a bit to warm up to the "bad guy" in the story. But for me, I enjoyed the character of Noah right from the start. I never got the bad guy vibe. He was annoying sometimes, didn't think most of the time, but you knew he wore his heart on his sleeve.
This story has many fun, quirky parts to it to keep you entranced and engaged. The supporting characters add a load of balance and humor that really develops the story. The heartfelt growing romance between Noah and Grace was energetic, emotional, and deeply layered. The author gives us plenty of heat and building tension but in a clean way.
How to Love Your Neighbor fits the bill when it comes to a sweet, endearing story that just leaves you feeling happy and sated. That is the best type of romances.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin for the free book.
This is an amazing romance. I absolutely love reading about/watching interior design, so I was so excited for this aspect of the book – and there was just so much more to love! The thing that stood out to me with this romance being different from some others that I’ve read recently is how the character’s develop for themselves and not to impress the other person. I really liked the reflection Noah and Grace did in the book to be the best version of themselves for themselves. But they also worked so well together to make their relationship the best it could be. I loved the genuine apologies. The author captures the effort relationships take – loved this realistic view.
This one is closed door – but the audience knows what’s happening. It’s out today, and if you love HGTV and romance, check this one out.
This is an enemies to lovers rom-com. I loved the topics covered in the book and the characters are very believable and have good chemistry together. This was a quick read one I read in afternoon on the couch! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.
3.5 stars
This is an enemies to lovers rom-com between new neighbors Noah and Grace. Noah is a real estate developer who wants to buy Grace's house. Grace is an interior designer and she won't budge one bit. Although this was a closed door romance, I could feel the chemistry between this couple right away. I loved the push and pull between them. It made for some playful banter. They constantly challenged each other.
As the book progressed, both Noah and Grace grew not only as individuals, but together as well. They found home in each other which was something they both needed. Not only did I love this couple, but the side characters were fantastic and really added to this book.
Unfortunately, I did lose interest in the last quarter. Even though I liked this book, there wasn't anything that stood out to make it memorable.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. This book will be released January 18, 2022.
I really really enjoyed this romcom! So cute and had the exact mix of what I love. Sunshine beautiful woman and a grumpy rich man, yes please! Dual POV. I loved all the characters so much especially the friendships and family relationships. After recently renovation my home I could totally feel the truth in this story and picture everything. I loved the little "trading spaces" chapter. SO cute. Would definitely recommend this one.
Thank you so much to netgalley, St. Martins Press and Sophie Sullivan for this e-arc.
The premise of the story has two competing neighbors, one trying to fix up her inherited home and the other trying to buy her home to expand his. It was a real enemies to romance situation. But through some hijinks, as it always is in a romance, the enemies end up working together on some home improvement projects and finding love.
At times the story was a bit slow for me, but overall I enjoyed it.
As a whole a very sweet romance novel for fans of HGTV and other home improvement media. Also good for anyone who is a fan of Hallmark romances.
I adored this couple, both with strong personalities, real life struggles, and loyal friends. It was fun watching them get to know one another, become friends, and work out their differences. Plenty of chemistry, but the real heat is closed door, which I prefer. This is second in a series and I hope there’s more to come!
In “How to Love Your Neighbor” Noah and Grace are both looking for contentment in their personal lives and success with their careers. Noah desperately wants to buy Grace’s beach house and would resort to anything to get it. Grace had a hard time trusting Noah because of his wealth and his ridiculous plans for her house and he was a bit annoying with his arrogant attitude. As with all adversaries, there sometimes comes a time when either friendships are formed or lines are drawn. Once Noah stepped back from his relentless campaigning for Grace’s house he realized they actually had a lot in common and shared some of the same goals.
I appreciated Grace’s work ethic and her desire to transform her grandmother’s house into one she would have been proud of. Grace loves college and is excited to begin her career as an interior designer. She refused to let anyone walk all over her and I cheered for Grace throughout the book because I knew she would become a shining star in the interior design world! Noah realized that he had a hidden gem in Grace who had an eye for detail when it came to developing a design for his own beach house. Their friendship and working relationship soon became more as they spent time shopping, designing and sharing meals which made them realize that what they had was special in so many ways. Can Noah and Grace overcome personal obstacles that arise and find their happily ever after at the beach?
Sophie Sullivan, author of "Ten Rules for Faking It", is back at it with another adorable romance! This one centers around Grace, an up-and-coming interior designer, and Noah, her grumpy but hot next door neighbor. The sparks and tension fly right off the bat, leading to several prank wars and finally the challenge to work together fixing up Noah's house for a magazine feature. Recognizing a good opportunity when they see it, they both jump for the chance to be featured in the magazine. However, both Grace and Noah have to learn how to balance their independence with accepting help while keeping their manipulative parents at bay.
I thought this book was such a fun read! The constant disagreements got a little weary after awhile, but I appreciate the growth that both of the main characters showed. I also loved seeing Chris and Everly from Sullivan's previous book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
How to Love Your Neighbor is a fun romance. Grace is a design student with big goals and a small bank account. She just moved into the small beach house that she inherited from grandparents that she never knew. Noah is very wealthy He has moved into town to get out from under his fathers shadow and start his own business. He bought the cottage next door to Grace with the intentions of buying her property so he can enlarge his house. Grace does not want to sell her cottage. She has plans for decorating and fixing it up. She doesn't have a lot of money but she is rich in friends that want to help her with the cottage. Noah hires Grace to decorate his house and she impresses him with her talent. They appear to be opposites but Grace and Noah have a chemistry between them . This is good book that I recommend.
I want to start by saying I am a huge cute romance reader. This book did that but it fell a bit short for me. I felt as though the storyline although nice felt a little bit forced. Especially with her mom at the end of the story - I feel as though that didn’t even need to be included. Overall though it was a cute romance novel that had a nice ending. If your looking for romance without any of the sex scenes or spicy ness than this is your book. I give this book 3 out of 5 starsz
