The Angel and the Dragon Lord
Will she lead to his redemption, or will she cause his destruction? Aideen grew up as an orphan, but she is no ordinary mortal. She is a guardian angel, and her destiny is with a dragon lord. Is her destiny to kill him, or is it to love him for all eternity? What of Lucien? He is a dragon lord, but is he evil, or is he good? The Stone of Draloch speaks in riddles, and what it says leads to more questions than it does answers. I enjoyed this action-packed paranormal romance. It kept me turning the pages until the very end.
Dragon Lord Lucien Mordain recognizes his dragon mate in an injured young woman Aideen who is brought to his castle after a carriage accident. Aideen has no idea what is happening to her as she is more and more drawn to Lucien. When he reveals she is his dragon mate, she's reluctant to believe an orphan girl like her could attract the love of such a powerful lord, but there is more going on. Evil is amassing on all sides and Lucien must claim Aideen before the battle for survival begins, but she must come to him willingly. Can Lucien convince her that he's the one he wants for all eternity?
I read the first book in the series and was intrigued with the world she had created, but this book was just outstanding! Miss Platt weaves a fantastic paranormal story of dragons, angels, Fae and the evil minions who threaten the worlds of dragons, Fae and humans. The way she weaves the prophecies from the Stone of Draloch is so very clever. I could hardly put the book down until I had read to the last page. I absolutely loved this book! Ms. Platt is a multi-talented author who can write awesome paranormal stories as well as lovely historical romances.
There’s a war pending within the five underworld realms, pitting the Dragon Lords against each other. Dragon Lord Lucian Mordain must choose which side to take. Lucian can live in the netherworld and the earthly world. It is as his earthly self that he witnesses a carriage accident, a carriage with Aideen Pengalon, an angel whose name means fire. Lucian knows he’s evil, but he’s drawn to her and convince her father to let her stay while he travels on to their destination. A fantasy story as no other as they fall in love, can her love be stronger than the dark forces surrounding them? Is she is his Dragon mate or the snake in the grass set to destroy him? I voluntarily read and reviewed this excellent book filled adventure and romance.
"She is mine. I, Dragon Lord Lucien Mordain, claim her."
An almost epic fantasy adventure that explores the world of the Dragon Lords, their enemies and a love found, even in this realm.
I have to say I was so intrigued to see what would happen that I could not stop reading! Meara is so diversified in her writing skills and such an amazing storyteller and it really showed in this work!
Sit back and enjoy being taken to a different setting, with characters that will pull you in and not let go. Excellent!
I don't read a lot of paranormal, but I was given the opportunity to read this one by Platt, an author for a good read. The Stone of Draloch foretells a great battle among the Dragon Lords to create a new High King. Before the battle begins, Aideen and her uncle Professor Pengalon are attacked in their carriage by demons. Lucian, Duke of Mordain, comes to their rescue. In the dark underworld, he is the Red Dragon. Who is Aideen? Who is her uncle? Questions with puzzling answers and a mortal young woman with power. Could she be from the angels? Lucien knows Aideen is his dragon mate. Aideen knows that love is the most powerful force of all. Reading the previous books in the series may give you a deeper insight to the characters, but there is enough information in this book to find the connections. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Garden of Angels by Meara Platt is book 5 of the Dark Gardens series. OK. It is obvious I have never read this series before. I didn't know Platt wrote fantasy. I certainly had no idea how good it was. This was a gorgeous book set in the nether world where five dragons ruled the regions. There is also a fae king and his queen, helping to guard against evil. Lucian is the Duke of Mordain and is a crossover, able to live in the netherworld and the earthly world. It is as his earthly self that he witnesses a carriage accident, which kills the driver and one of the horses. He is able to rescue the older gentleman and his young niece. She seems ordinary enough but the minute she opens her eyes, he recognizes her. He takes them to his castle and has them guarded by his dogs. After dining with the gentleman calling himself Professor Pengalon, he immediately offers a coach and horses to carry him forth on his journey, sensing him to be up to no good. He offers to allow his niece, Aideen, to remain at the castle to recover from her injuries. Through a series of trials, they are drawn to one another and within a day or two have fallen in love and marry.
Lucian is an angel that was kicked out of heaven, not for anything he had done, but because of his father who was also kicked out. His realm is the gateway to heaven or hell and he relegates souls as he sees fit. He believes himself to be evil, until Aideen shows him otherwise. Aideen is an orphan, growing up in an orphanage until her uncle arrived to rescue her having just discovered her existence. She is kind and loving, unable to hurt another person. She is a healer, not a killer, in any circumstance. Lucian knew immediately that she was his dragon mate; that they were destined to be together for all eternity. He just needed her to realize it. Their love story was epic! Dragons always make for the best stories and this is no exception. I am a fan of Meara Platt anyway, but this book has made me a bigger fan! I totally recommend it, and the previous books in the series, which I am going to read posthaste.
I was invited to read an e-ARC of Garden of Angels by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #gardenofangels
Supernatural Stunner! Author Meara Platt takes a dragon from scary to Irresistible! I was rooting for the Dragons of the Realm to defeat the other Demon Dragons!
Lucien Mordain, the Red Dragon is the holder of the scrolls and the other dragons want them to control the world. Aideen Pengalon comes into the Red Dragons life and it is very interesting, but she is his heart mate and when a dragon finds a mate it’s for life.
Who sent her and why and the Fae Stone of Draloch is showing visions of doom.
The characters are strong and everything flows throughout the book. I just wanted to keep reading and reading. I wished for more because the Author writing style keeps you engaged with the characters and where you are at and the whole Plotline!
I definitely would recommend this book!
I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.

The Stone of Draloch has prophesied a great war within the five underworld realms, pitting the Dragon Lords against each other. Dragon Lord Mordain must choose which side to take, that of the powerful High King Brihann who has now raised an army of the darkest forces ever to exist, or that of Dragon Lord Bloodaxe and his brother, Saron, the Duke of Draloch, who are the two black dragons desperately fighting to save their world and those of man and Fae. The pull toward darkness is strong in Mordain, for he is the son of the Fallen Angel. But there is a mysterious Aideen Pengalon, mortal girl who has entered his life, and the tug of love is perhaps stronger than any dark force in existence.
Aideen grew up in a Yorkshire orphanage and has no idea who she is or where she belongs, but it cannot possibly be in the arms of Lucien Mordain, a dragon shifter duke of the underworld who claims she is an angel and has powers greater than his own. The Stone of Draloch has shown her the future and in it she is killing Lucien.
This is the long awaited fifth book in the series & it didn’t disappoint. Very well written with strong characters & a pace that flowed effortlessly. I'm not a great fan of fantasy / shape shifters but if the author writes it I'll read it! I loved both Lucian & Aideen & was drawn in from cover to cover & once again burnt the midnight oil to finish it. I loved the road to their HEA
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I did not realize that this was a fantasy romance involving shape shifting which is not the type of romance I usually read. This is the story of Aideen who appears at Lucien’s castle just before a war breaks out between the shape shifting dragon/men and demons. In this good versus evil struggle they must decide if they can truly trust one another. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
