I wanted to like this book a lot but I just couldn’t get into it. I love slow burn romances. I want time to be able to connect with the characters before they form relationships. I didn’t like that Athena and Kalen were instantly a thing in the book. It’s hard to connect with the characters for me with instant attraction.
Unfortunately, this book was not a hit for me. I picked it up because I enjoy a strong female lead, the cover was gorgeous, and I was interested in trying more New Adult books.
I did not realize until I already owned this review copy that this book is an EXTREME fast-burn romance. The romance already seems to have kicked off by 4% into the story. As someone who thoroughly enjoys slow burns, I could not fall in love with this. I can also look past most grammatical issues (especially in review copies), but one of the main characters' names was spelled wrong in the first chapters, and that is a small yet nagging pet peeve in stories that keeps me from being immersed.
Most of my disinterest in this book is due to personal taste, so I've listed some elements about it that might draw other readers in below!
• Fast burn romance
• Urban fantasy
• New Adult
• Shapeshifter can shift into both wolf and dragon
• Supernatural/Human romance
I love a good paranormal romance especially with shifters so this was right up my alley. It was a good story with a lot of action to keep things interesting. Well written with great characters. I would definitely read more of the author’s work in the future.
this was a really well done scifi novel, it was a great job in telling the story that I wanted to read. The characters were great and I loved going through this book.

ENGLISH REVIEW:
Beyond the story of a quest to be accomplished and an adventure to be lived, it’s above all a story of family relationships, friendship and love.

Athena Whiteridge, born into a powerful prophecy, along with her brothers, Anders and Atlas, form the Triad. Set to rule as Alpha of her pack, this wolf has a secret—Athena possesses abilities to manifest fire, capable of shifting into more than a mere wolf.
On a mission, Athena is rendered dumbstruck by an unsuspecting human, Kalen Ryan. All her strength and skills can't save her from falling for him. Except—wolves don't take humans mates. Without understanding their intense connection, the pair leave club Zephyr.
Forced to face a council of leaders and her family, Athena must explain how Kalen is beyond the Barrier and in the Unseen. In attempts to fend off concerns—Athena uncovers her father, Cyrus’s deceit and treachery that runs deep.
The trouble is only beginning. . .

I really enjoyed this book, in which Athena and her brothers are on a mission to protect the human and supernatural world. Having said that, not everything works as expected as Athena hides a secret about her abilities and her soul mate is human. How can a wolf take a human for a companion? More importantly, what is Kalen doing in the supernatural part of the world?
Unfortunately, I missed a lot of information about the universe the characters live in, the context in which the story takes place. I would have liked more descriptions, more history so that I could better visualize what I was reading.
However, I really liked the characters. Athena, Anders and Atlas are triplets that I loved getting to know. It was especially their relationship that I liked. Despite what they go through, their differences in personality and perception, they evolve with maturity and remain very close to each other. It's a sibling relationship that's powerful, endearing, and cute.
The relationship between Athena and Kalen rather charmed me. Athena is all about an Alpha. Courageous, strong - whether physically or mentally- she doesn’t let herself be walked on. Kalen, he’s creative, intelligent, thoughtful and he enters a world which is totally unknown to him. I really appreciated his evolution, his adaptation within the group he forms with our 3 protagonists. Then hey, the romance between Athena and Kalen was so cute. It’s instant love. I'm not crazy about it, but I have to say that with the way it was written, I still enjoyed it.
Finally, the book isn’t lacking in action. Despite the slow and introductory aspect, there are still some interesting and catchy things happening through fast-paced scenes or dialogues that inform the reader. I'm curious about the sequel, if there’s one in the future.
I really wanted to like this book, like really badly. I loved the synopsis and everything seemed to point to exactly the kind of books i love. Unfortunately, i only got 25% through this book before DNFing it. I really loved the concept of the book, but it was way too cringy for my pallet.
I think if this book had been told from multiple points of view i would have enjoyed it more. The interactions of the MC and her brothers/love interest just felt really off and awkward. Idk, maybe this book just wasnt written for me.
Triad is the story of three siblings (triplets) in their various roles within their pack as they work to hunt down any leads in regards to the return of an infamous blood demon. There are a few plot twists within the novel that, even as a frequent reader of fiction and high fantasy, that I didn't see coming and I enjoy that in novels. One of my other favorite aspects in the book is the close sibling relationship that is present between Athena (our main character) and her two brothers - yes, the typical sibling conversations and sometimes nagging, but the reader always has a sense of how close they've been growing up and that impacts them as adults. The plot moved at a good pace and we learn a decent amount of each of our main and even some of our background characters and I feel like Supernatural fans would really enjoy this type of book (I love the show and this book was right up my alley). As this was Brittany Weisrock's debut novel, I think she did an amazing job and will look forward to the sequel.
