Heartcross Castle by Christie Barlow is the latest book in the Love Heart Lane series. From the first page I was hooked as we follow the story of Grace and her three young sons; twins Freddie and Joey and youngest son Billy who hasn’t spoken since he witnessed a traumatic incident. When her grandfather passes away, Grace inherits Heartcross Castle. It’s beautiful but dilapidated but how can she say no as this will give her and her sons the chance to escape the past hurts.

This book is a heartwarming feel-good read. It has secrets, love, friendship, community and a bit of romance. There are some wonderful characters, I challenge you not to fall in love with Billy l, and you will be entertained from start to finish. A fabulous five star read.

Grace left Heartcross a long time ago, hoping to have a happy life.

Unfortunately, things haven’t turned out as she hoped. She received a letter informing her that her grandfather Marley has died. Not only that, but she’s now the owner the gorgeous estate of Heartcross Castle.

Being a mother of three, and now that her grandfather is no longer alive, she’s unsure what she’s going to do with a big place. But, she’s now got somewhere to go, a place for her and her kids. She can leave the past behind. But what sort of welcome will she get from those she left behind, her old friends?

The castle, holds a lot of secrets - mostly in a box that’s being left for her in a bank security box.

Renting the servants quarter is Andrew Glossop a well-known chef, who’s set to buy the castle, and when she meets him for the first time, he thinks she’s his housekeeper.

Grace, makes it perfectly clear that he’s got fat chance to get the castle, after over-hearing a conversation.

Andrew, now has to make her realise that what she heard was incorrect, but will Grace believe him and is the castle going to be her forever home and what are the hidden secrets in that box?…….

Highly recommend this series.
