I read this book when it first came out in 2008, when I was in college, and was deeply curious to read it again when I saw it on NetGalley, since I had traded out my first copy.

Turns out this book absolutely holds up during the many years since I last read it and it's still absolutely relevant to society and the way women pursue sex and see their sexuality. This will continue to be a book that I go back to, especially if I have daughters in the future.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy of this novel. This novel is so important. It tells her personal story while also opening up our eyes to the emotions behind her behaviors. The author's honesty and vulnerability shine through in this must read.

Loose Girl was originally published in 2008 so I’m confused about it coming out again. It’s a revealing look at one woman’s quest for something: self love. The trouble is, she tries to find it in countless hookups with men. It’s sad and troubling to read about her repeat0mg the same pattern over and over again with the same results. I was left doubting that she realized happiness comes from within and cannot be found in someone else. Nor can self worth, which Cohen also lacks. It was a sobering read.

Great book. Captivating. Read two times and finished it. Wanted to know what happened. Great writing voice.

This ended up being so good, and I can't believe I've waited this long to read it. This book came on my radar quite a while ago (I'm assuming this is a rerelease) and I never got around to it, but I'm so glad I finally picked it up! Thank you for the opportunity!

Loose Girl is a well-written memoir of a young woman who searches for love and acceptance in all the wrong places. Kerry Cohen's story is one that will resonate with most adults, who in our teen years either knew or were 'that girl'. You know...the one that would sleep with anyone, even your boyfriend, if the boy looked at her twice. Reaching behind the surface, to her motivations and the aftermath, was the fascinating part of the narrative, and the novel was well-paced. The ending felt a bit abrupt, though it left me feeling hopeful for Kerry's future. I would be happy to see a sequel in the future.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a free, electronic copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. The opinions in this review are mine.
