This was a fun if slightly anachronistic historical romance. Westerns aren't usually my thing and the title felt a little cringey but the banter was a delight.

A great, captivating read! Filled with great characters and lots of emotion. Will be recommending to my friends!

Hitched to the Gunslinger by Michelle McLean has interesting moments and characters to keep attention to the pages. Another good read from the author.

He was a gunslinger - a fast gun. But he really was ready to retire. The life wasn't really all that enjoyable any more and he thought he just might want to settle down. So, when he came to the town called Desolation, he thought that maybe it was a good fit. At least until he ended up married to Mercy. Because the outlaws really weren't ready to let him retire. But this is a romance and we ended up with a HEA. I enjoyed the dialogue in this book and the story line.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A historical fiction romance novel. The story was a little unrealistic. But if you are looking for light hearted western romance then check it out.

Wow I'm just stunned with how good this title was. I just had so much fun reading this title and getting to along for the ride with these amazing characters. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Going through my NetGalley shelf I found that despite having read this last year I had somehow missed writing my review for it, knowing how much I enjoyed it when I read it I figured I'd reread it so I could review it fresh in my mind.

And yes, I thoroughly enjoyed it the second time around.

I loved the main characters, Gray, a retired gunslinger just looking to settle down somewhere quiet and Mercy a strong and stubborn woman who is being harassed by a heavy-handed man, Josiah who wants her land and will stop at nothing to get it.

Gray and Mercy are an unlikely couple who end up being made for each other, I really enjoyed the banter between them even after they get married.

I loved the people of Desolation and the huge impact their friendship made on Gray, a man who had never been wanted by anyone. The people of Desolation don't judge as they all have their own paths and when Gray shows up they take him in as their own and make him sheriff, completely against Gray's will.

After Gray arrives things get worse with Josiah, Mercy finds she's not alone in her fight anymore and Gray learns to accept the help he is offered to keep both himself and Mercy safe.

This book had heart, humour and plenty of shooting action and was a lot of fun to read.

This book was so fun! Read this in a single sitting on a flight, and really enjoyed every minute of it. So entertaining, with sharp banter and steamy scenes, but also had a great story arc and supporting characters. Rough around the edges hero and a prickly heroine get me every time. A historical western romance I would definitely recommend to fans of the genre.

Gray is tired. He’s been a gunslinger for so long but now he’s ready to retire. He stumbles across Desolation and Mercy.
I love how they snapped and spat at each other. I had to keep wiping the laughter from my eyes during the first dove chapters. Mercy nags and Gray pretends he doesn’t like it.
But trouble is never too far away from a gunslinger, even a wannabe retired one.
I loved the town, the community, and the emotions Gray and Mercy sparked in each other. Mercy slays crusty Gray and he enjoys it.

Highly entertaining and engaging roller- coaster adventure from beginning to end. Action packed, emotionally thrilling and had to put down adventure filled with dangerous and exciting charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion.

What happens when a retired gunslinger crosses paths with a strong, stubborn woman dealing with a bad man? You guessed it! Marriage! I really liked this book - it was a light, fun romance with witty characters that can make you laugh. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I would definitely read more of her work. I was a little apprehensive about picking this book up because I had never read a western historical romance before but I can now say that I am very happy that I took a chance on this particular book.

The book was funny, heartwarming, thrilling, slow at the right times. There is villains, gunfights, found family. A town full of people with a lot of skeletons in the closet and a gunfighter who just wants to settle down and retire in the town called Desolation. Unfortunately for him there is also a heroine who fights for what she wants even though she has to marry the most infuriating man she has ever met.

Let’s just say that the town of Desolation will not let the hero Gray retire before the villain is gone and he has to go through a lot before that happens.

I loved all the characters in this book and the villain is so dark that I found myself being very worried about Gray and Mercy but also some of the other townies. He was kind of scary right till the end.
The big showdown was amazingly described and I was biting my nails until the last minute.
The romance was very funny, swoonwothy and sweet and I loved that they learned so much from each other.

I can definitely recommend this book.

A historical romance with all the contemporary feels! Mercy was a little too much at times, but maybe that was intentional to go with the laid back swagger of Gray. The story was clever and witty, and I definitely would recommend.

I totally agree with "Unputdownable" review.. though its a bit hard for me to imagine Mercy and Gray, I still love the both of them! Mercy is hilarious! This book is a complete package of romance, adventure, action and drama. Love every pages!!

Well I have to say that I had a fun time getting to know the characters in this wonderfully entertaining romance story. My thoughts for Gray is that he probably would have lived a less stress life continuing as a gun slinger. Between the number on conundrums that Mercy and Jason found themselves in provided some comical moments. I really enjoyed how the story was written from the combination of the humorous dialogue jabs and the subtle flirting comments between Mercy and Gray. The book is easy to read as well as a good page turner.
The action is intense in certain areas, but awesome entertainment for you.

I really like this series! They can be read as a standalone but after reading one you will want to read the others to hear their stories! Gray and Mercy have great chemistry! I love the plot of this story, very fresh and different from other romances. A must read!!

This not my usual genre that I like to read, but what a pleasant read. It was a little slow in the beginning but then it picked up and held my interest, enough so that I am looking forward to read the next book in the series. The novel is a very enjoyable western with a predictable romance.

This was a fun little story! I haven't read a cowboy-western in a while. Gray and Mercy had me giggling at their banter. It was sweet to see them both come to realize they had fallen in love and didn't want to be without the other.

I read the second book in this series before this book. It's a great series. I'm loving the characters. Normally I am not a western fan but I'm loving these books.
