Let me start with the good parts: I absolutely love Juliette's writing. It was so entertaining and made me always want to read just one more page. The characters were great, especially Violet and Nico, of course, but I was also super intrigued by Henry and Clara. Hopefully we'll get their story soon. Nico and Violet were a great couple. The chemistry was on point and their banter was super fun. The steam was also great, even though I didn't love that Nico turned out to be so completely dominant when it came to sex. I would have liked Violet to be able to take a bit more charge in that aspect as well. Overall I'm still fine with it, because it is very obvious that Nico completely respects her and they are on equal footing.
Now onto the bad. While the lovestory was great, the non-romance part wasn't as well thought out. I absolutely hated Shane. Yeah, I get that the werewolfs are super stigmatized but he is genuinely the bad guy in this story. He comes in being disrespectful and an overall ass. Later he accuses Violet of not even considering to help him, which isn't even true. She was willing but simply unable which she told Shane. And if a man came into my shop with his attitude and looking for trouble, I would also have trouble being as nice as Shane seems to expect. *SPOILERS* The worst part is that Shane literally kidnaps her and in the end everyone is okay with it? Violet herself is even okay with it, which seems so fundamentally against her character. Again, I get werewolves are treated horribly, but Shane's behavior was not okay. He forced Violet to use her power so he could get what he wants, and doesn't face any consequences for his actions. *END OF SPOILER* In somewhat the same vein I think the ending scenes with Violet explaining how mistreated werewolves are (to werewolves no less) feels a bit condescending and preach-y. I wish this part could have been handled better. Overall I loved the romance but the storyline of Shane made me so mad, it took my rating from five stars to three stars.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a big fan of Romance books and I found this one to be a very enjoyable read. I will be looking for more books from this author.
This series is so good. If you haven't read the first few books, you should definitely go back and start there. That being said, you can probably dive in here if you must (because this book rocks, too!).
This story is all about Violet. We've seen her as a supporting character in the previous books. She's a tattoo artist and a powerful witch. She is also a huge commitment-phobic. When she gets all sorts of feelz from Nico after meeting and making out with him, she runs. Nico, the patient werewolf that he is, eventually follows her. His pack at the time was... a bit broken, so it wasn't a hardship, but his wolf wouldn't let him stay away from Violet either way.
Nico and Violet play at being friends, but they aren't fooling anyone. Don't worry, though, we don't have to suffer for the entire book - and it is explosive! So - the big bad in this one? Nico's old pack ends up getting wind of Violet's magical tattoos and for some reason they think that messing with her is a good idea. Even without Nico in the picture, Violet is a force to be reckoned with. This book is a nice bled of paranormal romance, tough chick action, stupid boys, and witchy goodness. Oh, and Fred, who is the best. What a fantastic book and so very satisfying!
I have been in love with every book in this series so far, and this one was no different!! Book 2 is still my favorite, but dang this came in as a close second! I loved every minute of reading it and I cannot wait for book 4 now! 😍
Witches Get Stitches is the third book in Juliette Cross Stay a Spell series and I was super happy to be back in this world with the Savoie sisters. I start each book in this series with the idea that I can’t possible love the new main characters more then the ones in the previous books but once again I was wrong!
After finishing Don’t Hex and Drive and finding out that the next story will be about Violet and Nico, I was immediately super excited. And right so because this couple is to die for! Violet is making her dream come through by starting her own tattoo shop with Nico as her business partner. The sexual tension is high between them but Violet refuses to leave the friendzone. When Violet starts making magical tattoos to help supernaturals, Nico asks for her help with his wolf problem. But it turns out he’s not the only one. Will Violet be able to help Nico and others?
Witches Get Stitches is a perfect next installment in the Stay a Spell series. It’s fun, steamy, has great characters and amazing family dynamics. Plus all kinds of interesting supernaturals. What more could you want?
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!
The third installment of the Stay a Spell Series by Juliette Cross was SO MUCH FUN! Set in New Orleans, it’s centered around the Savoie sisters, a powerful coven of witches, each known for a different kind of magic. Witches Get Stitches is Violet and Nico’s story. Violet is very powerful seer who has learned how to cast permanent charms on other supernaturals with her enchanted tattoo ink. She opens a parlor with the help of Nico, a werewolf who has been pining after her since a one nigh stand at a rooftop bar in Austin two years ago.
They both have feelings but after Violet does a reading for herself concerning her future with Nico, the results have her placing him firmly in the friend zone. Nico has been friendly and patient but when his old pack comes into town after hearing rumors of Violet’s work, his protective alpha wolf side kicks in to speed things up between them. There is a lot of angst in this one and when Violet finally gives in to her feelings it is INTENSE. Turns out laid back, mild mannered Nico is SUPER bossy in bed and I. Am. Here. For. It. I absolutely cannot get enough of the steam that Juliette writes. It’s some of the very best and the scenes in this book are some of my favorite from the series thus far.
I also really loved how much of this book focused on the other sisters and their love interests. The stage has been set for the next several books and we also get a glimpse into grim magic which is absolutely fascinating to me. As always, I cannot wait to read the next one! Witches Get Stitches came out last Tuesday. Thanks so much to Juliette Cross for my review copy!!
3.5 stars
This was a fun entertaining read.
The characters were fun to read.
The steamy scenes were great.
The writing was great but... the plot was pretty predictable and it took some of the enjoyment for me.
Still this was a fun read and it made me wanna read the rest of the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another addictive, steamy read in the Stay a Spell Series!
I loved finding out more about Nico and Violet and their installment was such a page turner.
The pace was a little slower than the first two books and it felt like the stakes weren't as high - but, these characters still lure you in from the very start.
Evie and Mateo (and Alpha) are still my faves and even though they are supporting characters in this storyline, they managed to steal the show whenever they appeared on the page!
New characters have been woven in with the old and I can't wait to find out more about them.
Overall, this was a fun read and if you haven't started this series yet, you're missing out.
***4.5 ‘From You, I’d Beg for Them’ Stars***
This was a really fun read, not that I doubted it would be. The glimpses of Nico and Violet in the previous books had me crossing my toes that they’d get their own HEA’s and then getting all excited when it came out that were indeed destined to be together and they did not disappoint. They had me laughing, swooning and rolling my eyes in frustration as the friendzone that they had created around each other finally crumbled to the ground.
I loved Nico and Violet. Nico is protective, charming and, despite all the wolfie-ness about him, has the patience of a saint (kind of). He sees quite a bit of what is going on with others, but when it revolves around him, he’s a bit shortsighted. Violet is fierce. She is snarky, sweet and loves hard. But she also has a problem with being shortsighted and only seeing what she wants at times.
Their journey to their HEA was fun and frustrating all at the same time. I loved their flow and their bantering. They did take their sweet time in figuring out that there was way more going on between them though and some of the things that they both did, or didn’t do, drove me batshitcrazy, but once they stopped being their own worst enemies, everything fell into place and I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.
This was a great addition to the series. We get to know the world a little bit more and the issues that plague all the Supers. And speaking of...I loved catching up with Mateo and Evie and Dev and Izzy and seeing how their relationships are going, it was fun to get to know the crew at the Cauldron a little better as well as the Grims. And then there are the rest of the Savoie sisters. It’s hard not to love Jules, Clara and Livvy ~ though Livvy is a handful (in a good way) ~ and I’m totally looking forward to seeing which males will claim all of their hearts!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
This series absolutely SLAYS me! Juliette Cross is a paranormal romance master and I’ve said it before but seriously for those Kresley Cole lovers out there you need to read this series- it’s THAT good!
Our heroine is a witch and one night she has a tryst with a hunky werewolf (and the tryst is 🔥🔥🔥🔥). What our hero realises after his first taste of her is that she is his mate so he uproots his life to follow her but she wants nothing to do with him. So what’s a werewolf to do? Hang around, become her business partner and wait for her to see what is right in front of her!
I love the heroine- she’s spunky, independent and owns to what she wants in life and in men (even though she’s a bit slow in catching on about the hero). The hero on the other hand is pure alpha goodness but he’s totally willing to wait the heroine out and never push her too far! This series kills me with how good it is and I just need MORE! I’m always so excited to read the latest then completely impatient while waiting for the next one.
What can I say about this book besides READ IT!
This is book 3 in the fabulous Stay a Spell series and it keeps getting better. The Savoie sisters are incredible, each having their own special talent.
Violet is a powerful seer. She's also the complete opposite of her twin. Colourful hair, tattoos, outgoing, blunt...so much fun!
Nico is a wolf and knows that Violet is his mate. Now to convince her. I loved Nico. He was patient with Violet, waiting for her to come to the same conclusion as him.
Together they were so great... fun flirty banter, tension, yum!
I'm a huge fan of werewolves so I loved that we got another one in this series. However, I am incredibly intrigued by those Grims. Just what can they do? You get a little more information on them in this book and I cannot wait to see their stories unfold.
This is a fantastic series, one that I usually can't put the book down until I've finished.
Quirky and fun, filled with heat and intensity, Juliette Cross has delivered a story that has everything I love in a paranormal romance!
With the continual bantering that had me laughing out loud and the off the charts chemistry that steamed up the pages, Violet and Nico have quickly become one of my favorite couples. And even though it takes Violet a bit to realize that Nico is “the one” that she has been waiting for, the end result was so worth it. Nico was so intense, but also had such a soft side to him that I loved seeing. Violet was always quick with the sarcasm or deflection to keep things light, but watching her stand up for what was right and taking action to right some very old wrongs made her character so endearing. The chemistry between these two was off the charts (refer to the supply closet scene!), but there were also many tender moments as well.
I am in love with this world that Juliette Cross has created. The world she has built and the lore that surrounds it is so interesting and has some unique elements that I can’t wait to learn more about. The in-your-face Savoie family is so much fun and I love how they not only support each other, but never fail to call each other out on their BS when needed. Fred the bow-tie wearing rooster is a favorite, as are all the interesting animals that surround the Savoies.
This is the third book in the series and can easily be read as a standalone, but I do think there would be more enjoyment by starting the series from the beginning to get to know all the characters. The writing style really worked for me and I loved the banter and dialogue between the characters.
I am just loving this series and would highly recommend it to anyone!
Julliette Cross is back with the next book in the Stay a Spell series which follows six witchy sisters in New Orleans as they battle magical problems in the city while love comes a-knocking.
I have read the first two, Wolf Gone Wild and Don’t Hex and Drive, and adored Cross’s humor, world building, and romance skills. She’s got it all, folks. The books are stand alone so you can jump in the series wherever.
Witches Get Stitches is up next featuring Violet, the psychic sister, and her werewolf best friend Nico. Together they open a tattoo shop catering to the supernatural community. Things start to go sideways when wolves from Nico’s old gang come sniffing around Violet. Meanwhile Nico is waiting for Violet to see what’s right in front of her; aka him, the hot songwriting werewolf.
The other, non romance plot line explores the negative stereotyping and harm the supernatural community places upon werewolves. Witches, vampires, and grims cast werewolves as violent and untrustworthy because of the original curse that caused their creation.
Cross is quite obviously pulling from the contemporary issue of systemic racism and generational trauma of Black and Brown Americans. Even though I liked the book, and the series at large, I can’t decide whether I liked this narrative choice. It seemed a little too white savior-ish for me.
As a friends-to-lovers type romance, the pacing of this week is slower than the other two, but no less enjoyable. Violet thinks her future with Nico is damned (see her super cool psychic powers) and needs to trust herself that her feelings are true.
This book like the rest of the Stay a Spell series is the perfect cross of paranormal mystery and contemporary romance.
Juliette Cross has created a tight and easy to read paranormal world in her Stay a Spell series. I’ve only read the first and third book but so far, Witches Get Stitches is my favorite! Both Violet and Nico immediately spring off the page and Violet, especially, doesn’t get lost in her mess of sisters like I felt Evie did in the first book. Tattoo artist and seer, she stands on her own two feet and is exactly my favorite type of heroine. She does friend-zone Nico, though, after not realizing that he is the one for her. Nico, on the other hand, immediately knows that Violet is meant for him and he plays the long game of friendship and becoming a business partner in order to win her over. The little things that Nico does for Violet are just so sweet; they warm my heart! As for Violet, she starts to give in her desire to Nico and to realize that he truly is the one for her. Once they start to go at it, wooziers! I also enjoyed the subplot about the magical tattoos Violet is creating. I’m definitely going back and reading the 2nd book and can’t wait for the next one!

I absolutely loved this book.
This is the third book in the series. It's about Violet, our Seer, and Nico, a werewolf.
Tropes:
- Friends to lovers
- Workplace romance
- Fated Mates
- Family and Found family
Violet is a Seer witch, which means that she can see/read future. And she makes a critical mistake that a Seer can make. She reads her own future. And we all know how blind and biased we can get when we see only what we want to see. So, Violet sees that she and Nico are doomed to fall, and hence, constantly runs away from admitting her feelings and giving into Nico.
Nico, like a true werewolf he is, knows his mate when he sees her. He is so devoted and loyal and steadfast in his love for Violet. There's just so much pining and dreaming and heartache. Gahh. I hurt for Nico and at one point, got so mad at Violet for just not giving in. Nico and his wolf are very much one and in sync (unlike Mateo and Alpha). So, don't go into it expecting a similar situation. Both, man and wolf, just want Violet, and are willing to wait it out until she gets her head straight.
And boy, once she gets her head straight, Violet is all in. Publicly declaring her man and everything. I loved when they got together. I loved seeing Violet burn with jealousy when Nico even talked to other women. It made me happy for Nico. These two are sizzling together.
Conflict/Plot: This book had a great plot going in the background. I loved how it related to the relationship development and the individual characters. Violet is trying to create a spell ink that would help the werewolves get more control over their animal side. Violet is very powerful, not jsut as a Seer, but also in her telekenetic ability. She can stand on her own against other wolves who want to get hands on the ink. I loved them too. And I'm hoping we can get an entire wolf pack series.
Special shoutout: GRIMS. Clara. Livvy. Charles and JJ I need their stories.
Highly recommend this series.
And here I thought that Mateo and Devraj had completely won over my heart in the previous two books in this series but… Nico. Guys, Nico is just in a whole other level and I’m sure I’ll say this about the next book’s leading man (I think we can all agree that Jules and a certain vampire will be 😍) but for now, my entire heart belongs to Nico.
In the previous books, Violet Savoie had seemed like such a wild card and for sure not one to fall for a man so easily but from the moment Nico is introduced, the sparks between them were immediate and it was so obvious they were soulmates. But Juliette Cross whose done such an outstanding job in creating a supernatural world that just grasps you from the beginning.. a happily ever after wouldn’t be so easily grasped and with other wolves and Violet’s stubbornness in not seeing what was right in front of her, this is one wild ride of a book.
This series has got to be one of my all time favorite supernatural series. I legit refresh Netgalley for weeks when @juliettecrossauthor announces a release date & I cannot wait till we have the next book in our hands. I can’t recommend this series enough, and if you read it, be ready to fall in love over and over again with each book.
4.25 stars. This was really good! Witches Get Stitches is book three in the Stay a Spell series and is the third Savoie sister, Violet and Nico's story. Violet is a witch who owns her own tattoo shop. Nico is a wolf and singer/songwriter. The two met a few years ago when Violet was visiting Austin, where Nico lived. He knew right away when he met her that Violet was his mate, but he doesn't tell her because she doesn't seem ready and open to it yet. He follows her and moves to New Orleans to be close to her. Violet feels a definite connection to Nico, but something makes her doubt that he is the person she is meant to be with forever. So Nico becomes her good friend and Violet eventually gives in to the connection they share. They have to deal with some trouble from Nico's past and the curse put on werewolves many years ago, but they manage to make it through, fall in love and come out together stronger in the end.
These books get better and better! The writing is excellent. I love the world building. Nico and Violet were great characters and so good together. Their story was a little slow burn, but they were super sexy together with awesome chemistry and connection. Nico knows they are meant to be together, but Violet has doubts and makes him work for it. But the second half of the book made up for the wait. Once Violet and Nico get things sorted between them, they are so good together. This was a really fun, entertaining story. I loved all the side characters and the tattoo shop in New Orleans setting too.
Overall, Nico and Violet's story was so enjoyable. I am really loving this series. I love the fun witchy atmosphere, the sisterly bond, the chemistry, wittyness and cool New Orleans setting. There is so many possibilities for books in this world. I hope the series goes on for a long time. I can't wait to read the rest of the sisters' stories!
This is book three in the Stay a Spell series. While all can be read as a stand alone, they are best read in order.
NIco and Violet met two years ago and hit it off. Violet, a witch, thought her tarot reading told her that he wasn't the one. Not wanting to spend wasted time on Nico, even though he was hot, she left him high and dry. Violet forgot the rule that you should never read your own cards.
Fast forward two years to present day and Nico comes to NOLA, where Violet lives. He buys a house and ends up partnering with her for her tattoo parlor. When his old pack comes to town, Nico gets angry. He needs to figure out what they are doing and convince Violet to give him a chance.
Opinion
Witches, werewolves, vampires and grims, what more could anyone want in a book? This book, and series, is so unbelievably fun that you will consume the books in a short time. NIco and Violet's story is frustratingly hilarious. It is apparent to the reader that they both want each other but she holds back. This book is definitely a fun time.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.
This was such a magical treat!
This was my first time reading Juliette Cross but this series has been blowing up on Instagram so I had to check it out. I am also a huge fans of witches and werewolves so this series had to be my jam and I was right!
I totally loved Violet. I love me a powerful badass witch. And Nico, oh Nico what a cinnamon roll. Stuck in the friendzone but never bitter, we love to see it.
I think the romance was paced well. I liked seeing Violet's walls come down and Nico never giving up on the person he loves.
This story has everything a PNR reader could ask for. It has powerful supernatural beings, a fun/intriguing plot and the writing is great.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the arc. This in no way effected my opinion or thoughts. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
Happy Pub Day to this witchy book! I’m so happy I got an arc of this since I loved the other two books in this series. This couple was shown throughout the other two books and I couldn’t wait for them to get their own book. Nico was very patient in terms of giving Violet time to get used to the idea of their relationship and the amazing banter that was involved throughout their relationship. I also loved the changes they, as a couple, were trying to make when it comes to the opinions of the magical community towards werewolves. Violet made Nico feel like she was always on his side even if her own fellow witches weren’t. GET THIS BOOK TODAY!
