This was an enjoyable conclusion to the Dukes of Distinction series. Sebastian is a damaged war hero. Lady Hayden is the woman who will not stop loving him. Sparks fly between the two.

Absolutely loved this book!
Alexa Aston never disappoints this is the second book I've read from this author, usually the last book in the series tends to get a bit boring, but this one was fast paced with the right amount of romance and excitement all rolled into one.

When Sebastian returns to take his place as the Duke of Hardwell, after the passing of this father. He comes to see Lady Hadley, the old Dukes ward handling the estate like clockwork. Lady Hadley had fallen in love with Sebastian but unfortunately he wouldn't have her. As he felt she deserved more. A world-wind of emotions and a beautifully written book.
I can't wait till the next book by Alexa Aston, her books are just perfect. The fast pace leaves to you even more eggar to turn the page.

Duke of Honor (Dukes of Distinction). By Alexa Aston. 2021. Dragonblade Publishing (ARC eBook).

Sebastian Cooper is a war hero now returned home to be the Duke of Hardwick after his estranged father’s passing. He is surprised to find that the ward his father took in years ago after Sebastion left for the army has been capably running the estate. Lady Hadley Hampton feels as though she knows Sebastian as she has been relaying his correspondence to his father, her guardian. But neither are what the other expected. Hadley is a beautiful woman and Sebastian an emotionally wounded man. I really enjoyed the beginning, but I didn’t care for the misunderstanding or how it was dealt with. But overall, Duke of Honor is an enjoyable romance.

Duke or Honor is an enjoyable read which follows a man on his way to make up for his failings and eventual redemption and the woman that supports and loves him. There are some steamy scenes, rather enjoyable read.

Another great addition to the Duke's of Distinction series. I enjoyed Sebastian and Hadley's story as much as the previous Duke's stories. I will definitely recommend this book.
Thank you Alexa Aston, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

A wonderful sweet historical romance, with a happy ever after. What more can you want?

I enjoyed this book, ended up finishing it rather quickly. A very easy read.

I liked the premise of this book, I feel it had a lot of potential which fell a bit flat in places but I still enjoyed my time reading never the less. I liked our heroine Hadley straight away. She was a formidable woman, used to taking care of herself and others and standing up for herself. She enjoyed getting stuck in and was incredibly intelligent and not afraid to use her wits. I thought our introduction to Hadley was wonderful.

However, some of her attitude didn't quite stick once the love interest entered the picture. Whilst she still had her independence in some ways and was experimenting with her newfound friends, she did leave a lot of the woman she was behind. I'd have liked to see more of her throughout the story rather than just the beginning.

At first I really liked the plot point of why the couple couldn't be together, I thought it worked flawlessy with the story and was itching for the big reveal to be equally as satisfying as our couple getting together. However that seemed to fall flat too. The reason turned out to be something nonsensical in my opinion and did not sit well in the story. It did taint our couples reunion a bit. Made the ending seem quite rushed and like the author didn't know quite how to get herself out of the plot point she'd made.

I hadn't read previous installments of this series where I assume we read the tales of love between the rest of Sebastions friends, but I did enjoy their presence in this story. Though I did get mixed up with who is married to whom quite a lot. Probably not an issue for readers of the series though.

Overall I did enjoy the book but I believe it didn't quite live up to the beginning it promised.

Duke of Honor, by Alexa Aston. I would like to thank the author of this book, for giving me such a wonderful story to read. It was well written. I was very impressed at how the story was delivered and told. The writer gave her readers a story that reads like a movie. I found the dialogue and verbiage supreme.
I was able to understand what the characters were saying and what the writer wanted to convey to the readers. I was very much inspired by the stress of the war effects soldiers when they return home. The writer provided a lot information regarding the soldier’s rough and emotional journey. I found that the drama between Pierce and Hadley was the entertainment.
Their romance made the book even more enjoyable. It was so wonderful for me to read this book. I will remember this story for quite sometime.

This was my second Dukes of Distinction book. I need to go back and read all of them cause this was so good!

I think this was my favorite so far. I loved Sebastian and Hadley and couldn't help but root for them as a couple!

But there were definitely times when I wanted to yell at both of them for being dumb and not just communicating with the other. They were both desperately in love, but pushed the other away for reasons that could be easily fixed through communication.

But they find their ways to each other.

It was also awesome to see the past characters from other books. Especially, Sam and George and their new baby girl!

Also, man these books are spicy! Duke of Charm was hot, but this one might be even hotter!

4/5 stars.

I love how competent and strong Hadley is. I also love how much that terrifies Sebastian. As their story unfolds you see a family being built around two people who have lost most of their loved ones. While this is a historical romance it also shows how much people need friends to be there for them. I really enjoyed Duke of Honor.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Alexa Aston has done it again! What a truly phenomenal writer. I was so pleased to receive the ARC of this novel that I immediately dropped the last book I was reading and jumped into this masterpiece.

Hadley and Sebastian are everything I could have dreamed for. When this book opens, Sebastian is heading off to war, leaving a disappointed father behind. He and his father never had a good relationship, after Sebastian’s mother dies in childbirth when he was only ten years old his relationship with his father became almost nonexistent. His decision to join the military when he should have been preparing to take over the Dukedom was the final nail in the coffin. Hadley becomes of ward of Sebastian’s late father - he is quite taken with her wit and she softens him over the years. Sebastian leaves for the war before he ever lays eyes on the young, innocent Hadley.

We jump to 9 years later and Sebastian’s father is dying. Hadley writes to Sebastian, a man she’s never met but has slowly fallen in love with through his many letters written to his father over the years, to tell him that his time to claim the Duke title has come. Sebastian comes home from the war a very different man. He is ashamed of many things and doesn’t believe he is worth any love or affection. Nevertheless, he falls for Hadley. Quickly and deeply - it is marvelous. In this novel, our couple navigates Sebastian’s broken past and the effects it left on him. There is so much to unpack in this book but our author does it effortlessly.

And the best part? This book was SO sensual and sexy. I loved every single passionate scene. Nothing was closed door - thank the lord! I got everything I needed out of this romance. A beautiful, captivating romance!! I loved it! Bravo! 5 stars

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This story dealt with so many issues - PTSD, family estrangement, guardianship, 10 years of letters going only one way, spies, honor, friends, family, and Love!
Sebastian is a dashing war hero! Hadley is strong, beautiful, extremely intelligent, and a great steward for the Duke of Hardwick.
Alexa has written a beautiful love story in sharing Sebastian and Hadley's story. One of my favorites. I encourage you to read not only this story, but the others in the Dukes of Distinction Series.

This was the first book I've read in this series. It was pretty good. I really loved the premise of the story! The character development throughout the story was a bit lacking in places. I feel like it would have benefitted from about 50 more pages to further flesh out the characters. But nonetheless, I will be going back and reading the rest of the series because this one made me really want to know how the other couples ended up together.

Duke of Honor is a great conclusion to a great series. I have been curious about Sebastian since the first time he was mentioned in book 1 and his story did not disappoint. The romance between him and Hadley was really good for about the first 2/3 of the book and then she went and ruined it. I was first annoyed with her when she accused Sebastian of being a petulant child when he told her he didn't want to talk about his father - she had no idea about all of the horrible things his father had done and just because he was kind with her she felt everyone should forget the past. Then I was so happy with her because of how she wouldn't give up on Sebastian no matter how many times he told her he was not a good choice for her. Then as soon as she got the tiniest hint that maybe he wasn't as perfect as she wanted him to be she threw him away like yesterday's garbage (and was overly cruel in doing so). I understand that him having betrayed his country during war would have come as a huge shock, but she had seen the scars and knew he must have been tortured and still decided that he was a terrible person and no longer worth her time (I was offended on his behalf - how dare she judge him like that without having any idea what he went through). My pettier side wished he had found someone new by the time she discovered the truth (although I'm still not sure how much I believe the circumstances in which that occurred) - but I was satisfied with by how horrible she felt and that she recognized she had judged him unfairly. I thought their reconciliation happened a little too easily - and I disagree with Sebastian, there was something for him to forgive.

Overall, I did really enjoy this book. It was great to see what was happening with the couples from the previous books. Bringing them back into the story wasn't forced and it was more than just a quick snapshot as to what was going on with them. I'm really hoping we get a extra book or novella to find out more about Elizabeth's romance.

I enjoyed this book but I was a bit confused about Sebastian's thinking. He disliked his father so much he volunteered for war. His father responded that he'd make Hadley his heir not realising that she was a girl. Sebastian was also very tortured both physically and mentally and vehmently was avoiding marriage. He seems to have forgotten that he proposed the scheme to Wellington to give the enemy false information to get past an impasse.

Hadley has been devoted to Sebastian's father even though she was very young when she first arrived and saw his many faults. She single handedly ran Sebastian's estate. I was disappointed in her volte face over the drunken moment and not at all surprised that she had to meet someone to enlighten her over the truth. We meet again some of the other Duke's and spouses from this series.

An intesting end to the series.

Sebastian left for the war as the Marquess of Marbury and returned ten years later after Waterloo as the new Duke of Hardwick and a former soldier with a terrible secret. While he was gone, he continually wrote letters to his father, even though they were estranged. Lady Hadley Hampton arrived as the old Duke's ward the same day Sebastian left for the war. As Sebastian's letters came, she read them over and over finally convincing the old Duke to read them. Hadley fell in love with Sebastian from his letters, but when he returns he barely knows who she is and feels exposed from her reading his letters. So a campaign begins for Hadley to convince Sebastian with love they can heal his wounds together. A very good series from the first book to the last.

I loved this book. , I'm a huge fan of Alexa Aston was not sure I could ever like either of the two characters or see them together. Then I got sucked in. The character development was fantastic and the between the two main characters was amazing. I could not put this book down.. I cannot wait for the next book!

Oh my, I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. Sebastian the new Duke of Hardwick, is scarred (both literally and psychologically) by the war he has just returned from after almost 10 years. While he has been at war, Lady Hadley Hampton has been running his dukedom for him while falling in love with Sebastian through his letters to his father. Sebastian has no idea she even exists, thinking she was a boy when he heard about her years ago. I loved Hadley and Sebastian and really enjoyed their love story. While I was gifted a copy by NetGalley for an honest review, I had already owned the book (the whole series actually), but felt it was so good I wanted to review it. I highly recommend this series.
