I was very hopeful with The Mardi Gras Unmasking because I love reverse harem. I have one major issue with this book. There is no consent given by the female main character. Her husband surprised her with the evening of multiple partners but she is unaware of the different men. I'm sure it's assumed that he has her consent because this is a fantasy of hers but it really rubbed me the wrong way.
So awful as to be un-readble. I gave up about 30% of the way in. There is no plot, no set up to the plot, just stream of consciousness rambling with randomly thrown in f-bombs and streams of curse words (that don't even make sense!!)
Oooooh that was interesting! Not used to read romance and erotica novel but it's something that pick my curiosity and that I wanted to try for a while. Not much comparison possible for me with others books, but this seem good. I enjoy the story, the sex scenes were... entertaining let's say and I love reading it! I might blush doing so, but I will recommend it!
While the premise of this story is super sexy, I unfortunately had some major issues with it overall. I think it needs some serious editing to make it more enjoyable to read, and I wasn’t a fan of the stream-of-consciousness narration style – it took me out of the flow of the story and often felt very immature. There were also some phrases and descriptions that I was just not a fan of at all. The bones for a great novella are there though!
Thank you to NetGalley and Pink Infinity Publishing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is an Erotica Romance Short Novella. I have to say a lot of Erotica Romance I read there is just a lot of steamy times, but there is no real storyline.
