Adam a rancher who has a full plate now has just gotten more on his plate with a newborn that his sister just left on his front porch. Kaylee arrives looking for ranchers in the area willing to listen and help with a proposal she has from a company she works for. Coming in when the baby is screaming and Adam is at his last, she offers to be his nanny if she could use his ranch as her test. He agrees and of course, everything goes well for awhile they settle in as if they are a family because Adam and Kaylee also have an attraction to each other. What will happen though once her test project is done and Adam goes back to being Adam before she arrived? Read this good story to find out.
A great read that is both sweet and cute. It also has a bit of sizzle in and out of the bedroom. These authors never disappoint and are so great in bringing you into the story.
Yummy and more yummy. What can I say. I liked this book. Must read. Do it. If you do anything else. Read this book today. Great read and enjoyable.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me an advance copy in exchange for my unbiased feedback.
I loved this one! I set out in search of something familiar and easy to read, nothing too complicated or taxing, and this fit the bill perfectly! There's just enough conflict to keep me engaged, but even as Kaylee walked out of Adam's life, I wasn't too worried; I knew the story wasn't over yet.
Personally, I love sudden!parent trope stories, and this is a high contender for my favorite one yet. Adam's intentions are golden, even if he's in over his head at the beginning, and it's lovely to see the community coming together around him. But it's even lovelier when Kaylee lands on his doorstep too, a perfect fit into his unexpected little family.
[A few spoilers in this last paragraph, but nothing major!]
Like any good romance novel, they both swear nothing is going to happen, and then it does. And then they break up, then they make up and find their happy ending. It's everything an easy romance novel should be, right down to the dreams coming true. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the ending ties down everything except the results of Kaylee's study about the small town. It gets a brief mention in the final chapter, but I'd have loved at least a little bit of closure about NeoCyber in Whittier Creek.
Thanks to Relay Publishing, Netgalley and the author for an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a bit of a quieter, more sedate romance than I am used to. The premise was appealing - cowboy's troubled sister leaves him to look after her one-month old son and, feeling overwhelmed, he hires the new lady in town to help look after him. But the lady may have some ulterior motives to using his connections with the local citizens and he's not sure how far he can trust her.
There are a lot of cute baby moments, which would definitely appeal to some. Having had a colicky baby myself it was a trip down memory lane! But I did feel there was a lack of chemistry and action throughout the book which made it slower to read, despite it being a relatively short book.
This was a compelling and thoroughly enjoyable read from start to finish with a great storyline, interesting cast of characters and all capped off by skilful writing.
This is a great book. The main two characters are Kaylee and Adam. Adam has had his one month nephew dropped at his door. He is trying to raise his nephew and run his ranch but it is hard. Kaylee rings his doorbell and they come up with a plan to help both of them. On the course of a month they are able to solve both of their problems. But they realize they are in love.
This was a 'new to me' author and I'm a sucker or a cowboy romance, so I decided to give it a read. This was a fairly lighthearted cowboy romance that was disappointingly lacking on the romance. Sure, Adam and Kaylee have a few romantic moments, but it seemed most of the story revolved around Matty, Adam's baby nephew who he was now the guardian of. While that was incredibly heartwarming and charming, I needed more from Kaylee/Adam on a personal level. There's no doubt about it, they had chemistry. I just wish they had explored a relationship more before the big blow up.
Adam wasn't always my favorite character. He really disappointed me and brought tears to my eyes when he screwed up in the end there. I felt heartbroken for Kaylee and hated Adam in that moment. But I guess it's only a good author that can invoke that kind of emotion in a reader :-) One thing I did admire about Adam was his dedication to his ranch. He was a true cowboy.
Kaylee wasn't a terrible character. The whole showing up on his doorstep to interview him and then becoming the nanny was pretty far-fetched (not to mention dangerous for a single female new to town). But if you can look past that, she showed she was good at her job, a talented writer and was someone who got along with most people. Too bad she lacked a backbone when it came to her father several times.
Overall, a decent read.
Side note: The author's bio(s) had me confused. She has several aliases and none of the bios match each other, they're all based on the genre. So does she live in England or does she live on a ranch? I still have no clue...
I enjoyed this book like i do any from leslie north. However, i felt like the romance was lacking in this story and the main characters lacked substance
Kaylee is trying to do research for her company, and Adam is trying to raise his 1 month old nephew and run a ranch. When they find a way to help each other it is obvious what will happen. Still though, a fun read, and one that was hard to put down. Highly recommend this one. Good story and HEA.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This was a nice easy read and very touching. Adam had to take on a lot of responsibility at a young age when his parents passed. Fast forward a few years and now he is left with his sisters baby.
His saving Grace enters the scene and comes up with a win win solution. Kaylee has a job to do but the thought of helping this Cowboy tugs on her heart strings. She takes on as temporary nanny and both of their lives are changed.
The characters were well-round and I think that some of the secondary characters made the story better. There were a few actions that the hero did that annoyed me but overall it was an enjoyable book.
This story had a good idea but it fell a little flat.
I actually really liked Adam. I mean, the man knew nothing about babies but that wasn't his fault and he learned fast. I loved his dedication to his ranch and to his nephew.
Kaylee wasn't my favorite. She was actually kind of spineless except when. It came to pushing her way into Adam's house to help with the baby.
For a romance I tlfelt.like this book had none. There were out two romantic moments and they weren't even that strong.
This book could have used more communication, more wooing, more kissing, and less telling.
I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Loved this small town romance. Adam was left his infant nephew on his doorstep by his sister who is struggling with addiction. Adam has no experience with children and has been relying on his neighbors to help him. He is getting no sleep and is at the end of his rope. Kaylee works for a company who is scouting locations to build a new branch. She is tasked with interviewing the towns ranchers but is running into roadblocks as no one wants to help her. She knocks on Adam's door who is does not want to talk to her either but Kaylee offers to help with the baby if he helps her get the other ranchers to talk to her. He agrees. As they slowly build their relationship Adam has distrust as he does not believe she would ever want to move to a small town. Kaylee struggles with her career as she really wants to write articles and not work for a large corporation but her father puts a lot of pressure on her. Highly recommend. Very sweet, easy read. Love both authors.
Received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.
Leslie North's Cowboy's Temporary Nanny wants to be a light feel good romance. Sure, Adam Lewis has suddenly found himself raising his sister's newborn amidst running his ranch. It would be a big sudden change for anyone. Kaylee Scott shows up just when he needs help sorting things out. In town to conduct interviews for her company, Kaylee has the nurturing skills Adam needs. The rest of the book is an unrealistic bland story, and the only real conflict is that fact that they both can be cranky and jump to conclusions about one another. It's a light story but also light on the feel good portion.
Adam Lewis finds himself guardian to his sister's month-old baby after she leaves his nephew with him. He is the only one left to work their family ranch after their prents died and he has zero experience with kids. Having people trying to help watch the baby leaves him feeling like it's revolving door, so Kaylee Scott offers to help him for a month as a nanny while he helps her to get other ranchers to take the survey she is doing for work.
The problem arises when Adam realizes Kaylee's company is trying to buy land which would endanger the environment and the animals who depend on it. After they finally give into temptation, Adam pushes Kaylee away thinking she would never be happy long-term on a ranch. Are they destined for a happily ever after or will Kaylee leave and never look back? I invite you to read the book and find out. What a delightful, charming read! It's so easy to get lost in the story and read it in a single sitting.
My review is given freely in exchange for receiving the ARC on Netgalley.
I really enjoyed reading this ranch owner meets city girl story. Kaylee and Adam meet when she becomes temporary nanny to his nephew Matty, then loose each other when he sends her back to her old job before telling her how much she means to him.. A great beach read with a happy ending.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first in a series. I found this to be a quick, fun read. Not realistic but fun. I liked the characters Adam and Kaylee. It is a fairly predictable read. Probably great for the beach. 3 stars
3.75 out of 5 stars!
When his sister left her baby to his care, the hero became so overwhelmed that he knew he needed help. And when the doorbell rang, he opens the door and the heroine noticed it. The two came up with a deal with the heroine becoming a temporary nanny while the hero helps her with her assignment. Throughout the deal, the two end up becoming closer amidst personal conflicts, familial issues, and other obstacles.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well-rounded and the couple were definitely the main characters in the book, though the adoration the couple have for the baby was simply adorable. There were some secondary characters that made the story better while a few could have been left out. A few actions that the hero made annoyed me but at least there were resolutions to them. Overall an enjoyable book by a new-to-me author that I definitely will read more of her books in the future.
**Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions and thoughts in the review are my own.**
Something I found to be funny. Adam was supposed to be Kaylee's first interview. Instead he ended up being her last. I enjoyed reading, Cowboy's Temporary Nanny. I touch of small town living and ranch life.
