This book takes a look at the 1973-1974 season of the IROC races of the Porche 911 3.0 being all set up the same for each driver and going through the races and the drivers. You have Emmerson Fitterpaldi, A.J. Foyt, Richard Petty, Al Unser, and others. The goal of course was to outdrive the others but to show who was the best. I remember watching these races don’t remember if they were live or taped but they were fun to watch. This was a good racing book full of information.

Excellent book on a narrow but very interesting part of auto racing. Covers the genesis of the International Race of Champions, with a focus on the first year of racing, which used Porsche 911s. Only about a dozen cars were made for the race. Every car and every driver is covered. End of the book summarizes the subsequent years of racing where other manufacturers were used.
