I loved getting lost in this quick read, I knew by the author that I would enjoy it, and Debbie Macomber did not disappoint!
Can you go home again? Well, sure for a visit, and Lindy is heading home to spend Christmas with her family, two wonderful weeks for her to breath and enjoy! What Lindy does find is a life changing journey, and we are along for the ride.
The only bad part of this read is that it had to end, but we are gifted with an epilogue, many which I loved, a life update!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Ballantine Books, and was not required to give a positive review.

DEAR SANTA was perfect to start my Christmas reading this year. Ms. Macomber writes heart warming stories that are perfect to read in front of the fireplace, with a hot beverage and fuzzy socks on.
Her characters, Lindy and a billy, are strong yet they are struggling from past hurts and come home to heal. Lindy is given her childhood letters to Santa by her Mother in the belief her daughter will find the magic and the happiness Santa can bring.
DEAR SANTA is a must read!

A beautiful Christmas romance that only Santa could bring. Lindy returns to her childhood home for the holidays needing a recharge and a change of perspective from a rather tumultuous year. She gets that in spades with the help of her parents, Santa, and a walk down memory lane. It’s true… one only needs to BELIEVE in order for Christmas to be magical. Thanks to NetGalley for the early read.

Another lovely Christmas book by Debbie Macomber.. Every December I choose a holiday book to enjoy and this is my choice this year. It's a little bit predictable but very enjoyable anyway. Lindy Carmichael goes home for a two weeks vacation during the Christmas holiday. She gets reacquainted with her high school friends. and makes some new ones. And there is a love interest that develops nicely along the way. Good story.

The magic of the Christmas season is alive and well in this book. Spending time with family, reuniting with old friends, discovering a new relationship and the simple joy of letters to Santa, its all here.

Lindy, a hard-working, recently single woman returns home to spend the holidays with her family. While there, her Mom shares some of Lindy's old letters to Santa with her, and Lindy decides to write her own letter to Santa this year with her hopes for the holiday. Soon after, she runs into her childhood best friend and its like they were never apart. She also has an encounter with Billy, a man who'd been her tormentor in school, but has turned out to be a much better person.

This is a sweet, clean novel about the wonder and joy of Christmas, the magic of believing in Santa and how sometimes if you dream, your wishes might come true. I dare you to not smile as you read!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Debbie Macomber Christmas books are the best and always something to look forward to . Dear Santa is the newest edition to this list.
Lindy heads to her parents for the holidays while trying to get over the betrayal of her ex-boyfriend and her best friend since college . When she arrives home she thinks it’s silly that her mother insists she reads her childhood letters to Santa. In those letters she had mentioned a best friend that had moved away and a boy who always picked on her. She ends up reconnecting with both of them now that they are adults.
This story is a heartwarming Romance about family, friends and the magic of Christmas.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy for my honest opinion.

I want to thank NetGalley for this arc. This book gave me the same good feel as watching a Christmas Hallmark movie. The book leaves you with a warm and happy feel. I could feel the genuine smile on my face as I read this story. Sometimes you just need this type of happiness injected into your life. Lindy and Billy’s story was sweet and my favorite line was Billy proclaiming Lindys name had been written on his heart at the age of nine years old. You can’t go wrong with this type of love story.

Reading Dear Santa is like eating a delectable gooey cookie. Each bite is satisfying until the sweet end. Macomber reveals the backgrounds of Lindy and Billy. The letters to Santa were sweet and evoke nostalgia for the magical essence of the holiday season. Lindy has a great opportunity to make positive changes in her life, but is she willing to make,those changes? Macomber can always be relied to deliver a solid story with a great ending. Don’t miss out on this seasonal delight.

I so needed this sweet romance. Sigh… perfect.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Right from the beginning of the book my heart was just singing. It’s a sweet simple sappy story that just had me smiling throughout the entire book.
The plot is familiar and the story is a clean romance. But it’s perfectly written in such a uplifting manner. It reminds us that even when we struggle and we have heartbreaks in our life, something good usually comes out of it. They say when a door doesn’t open, it wasn’t supposed to be your door, and that’s what the story is all about.
Lighthearted and refreshing Dear Santa is just a special story that brings a smile to your face and provides a beautiful escape for a few hours. Definitely one to pick up and read over and over.
Charming and Heartwarming. This is a Christmas stand alone novel that is well written and a joy to read. April comes home for a two week Christmas vacation. Her life has hit some bumps in the last six months with her boyfriend moving in with her ex-best friend. She loves her work but the co-workers haven't been welcoming. She needs to recharge herself. Her mother gives her Christmas letters that April wrote to Santa as a child and encourages her to write to him now.
While home she re-meets up with her childhood best friend and Billy, a boy who use to pick on her. Billy now owns the new restaurant/bar in town. This is a clean and sweet read. It should feel schmalzy but it doesn't. The characters are believable and feelings are realistic even though this occurs in a short period of time. Debbie Macomber has written a ton of books but her writing isn't old. And Kudos to her for including attending church with a message of forgiveness. (Many holiday romances seem to avoid religion.) Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an ARC ebook in exchange for a honest review.
I received a copy of Dear Santa from Netgalley for my honest review. Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors, so I was looking forward to reading this Christmas novel. Letters written to Santa when a young girl inspire Lindy to wrote a letter as an adult. Work, love, and friendship have all brought stress and hurt instead of joy into her life. With two weeks at home, family, traditions, friends, and romance all change Lindys perspective on what is important. Debbie Macomber finds a way to bring church and Faith into her stories. Dear Santa is well developed. Meet Billy, Peggy, and Lindy’s family in snow filled Wetachee, WA. I highly recommend it to all those who believe in the magic of Christmas!
Great Book for Christmas or otherwise. The characters are wonderful and the story is so sweet. Sometimes what we think we want turns out to be something different entirely. With a little bit of Christmas magic, Debbie Macomber has another bestseller.
A holiday tradition I look forward to each fall. Gets me in the Christmas spirit. This book is like a Hallmark movie. Likeable characters, a few bad ones to add a bit of angst. Tough, life changing decisions with a bit of Christmas magic delivered by Santa.
There's nothing like a Christmas-themed romance novel celebrating both old and new blessings.The kind of sweet, heartwarming story that readers have come to expect and appreciate from Debbie Macomber. Dear Santa celebrates the joy of the season, emphasizing the importance of family and gently reminds us to have an attitude of gratitude.
Lindy is a graphic designer, living alone in Seattle and focused on her career. She returns home to her small-town home of Wenatchee, Washington for her holiday vacation as well as to regroup after a difficult breakup, which is relatable for so many. Readers will enjoy the heroine's journey as she reflects on both her struggles and her many blessings. Lindy also revisits the tradition of writing letters to Santa with the same child-like wonder she held when she was younger; asking for a friend, a love interest with similar qualities her step-father has and her proposal at work being accepted. Through a series of coincidences, Lindy finds herself face-to-face with a Santa who promises to answer her wish list. She reconnects with her childhood friend Peggy and runs into an old bully. Billy was an old elementary schoolmate that now owns The Wine Press in town and is struggling with past mistakes. Lindy and Billy reconnect thanks to a past letter to Santa and Lindy ultimately has to decide to stick with what’s safe, or take a risk on love again.
This was a magical walk down memory lane of my childhood where I too wrote letters to Santa and received many wishes. The plot was so well written I felt as if I was in the middle of the story. I loved the well-developed characters, especially the many appearances by Santa, small town qualities and the wholesome second-chance romance. The extra details such as the Christmas Eve service, a party with cookies for the church and the sled rides with her nephew Peter; were as exhilarating for me as they seemed to be for those who partake. I lived each scene as the author wrote it because she has a magnificent flair for telling a story and enlisting the readers to participate in its magic.
The book was a fast read and worth every minute I spent reading. Family, wholesome love, choosing priorities wisely and counting on a future with your loved ones were all themes that make this book memorable and a real Christmas reading delight.
A charming Christmas story that is signature Debbie Macomber. A perfect recipe of going home to a loving family, adding a bucketful of holiday cheer (and warm baked cookies), intertwining a magical Santa connection, and romance heating up the holidays. What more could you ask for? A perfect story to cuddle up to alongside a cup of hot cocoa.
